I am so disappointed in the manager of maxi zoo Limerick ment…

I am so disappointed in the management of maxi zoo in ballysimon road Limerick myself and my wife went in to get food here and there was a lovely young girl there on the floor on her own with no help whatsoever , she was so nice and maxi zoo should be lucky to have a employee like her , what if something happened to her or shoplifters and we asked and she said she was told she would be on floor on her own for the day she was trying to help us but had to keep runing back to the till to help other customers, these are workers companies are crying out for and when you have them there treated like this , Eileen was her name .

I ordered some dog food

I ordered some dog food, and it took them 2 days later to to email me to say it's out of stock, very bad service.
Will not be ordering off yous again

Should be packed better

General good place to buy stuff for your pets, but every time I order food in cans for my cats, the cans are always bend and are not packed that they doesn’t fly around in the package… very frustrating

Cat bowl arrived broken - positive outcome

I received delivery of a cat bowl which was broken. I returned the product and received a refund and then proceeded to reorder, which again arrived broken. This might all sound like I am complaining but actually I am not. Deliveries arrive broken from time to time from any company, but it is the way a company addresses the issue which makes the difference. Maxi Zoo customer care dealt with the problem immediately. Offering a voucher and new bowl and taking on board my suggestion about better packaging. Many companies wouldn't even reply. We all make mistakes but it's all about learning from them.

Maxi Zoo Hates Cats. Avoid

Maxi Zoo used to be a fantastic place because it offered an essential service—cat grooming. As a Sligo resident, I relied on Maxi Zoo as the only location in the entire county (and beyond) that provided professional grooming for long-haired cats.

I’m extremely disappointed by the decision to remove this service. It was the only reason I chose Maxi Zoo over competitors, and I will no longer shop there. It’s frustrating that, while dog grooming is widely available, cat grooming—a necessary service for many—was completely eliminated. This feels like a disregard for cat owners and a lack of respect for cats, who deserve the same care and attention as dogs.

There were skilled, trained groomers who did an excellent job with cats, and the service was consistently in high demand, with wait times of several weeks. The decision to discontinue it makes no sense and removes an important resource for the community.

Unless cat grooming is reinstated, Maxi Zoo has lost my business.

Staff need training

Naas branch staff would benefit from some customer service training. If you can find a staff member and they are not busy on their phone they don't have the time to show where products are in the shop. We also had to wait for someone to attend to the till today and when they appeared none of the 6 customers waiting got any apology for the delay.

Generally very good

Generally very good. Easy user friendly website with fantastic easy reorder option, however if something does go wrong (delay or unexpected split packages) there is absolutely zero response from customer service.

I spent Euros 114.00 on dog food but Euros 74.97 of items were missing when the order was delivered !!!

I tried contacting the Irish support number but it was never answered, it just kept ringing out. !!!!

I was told by email that replacement items were sent out, but I never received them !!

I also never received a refund !

I have now raised a compensation case with Paypal, thank God! I payed with Paypal.......

So, the moral of the story is :

STAY CLEAR OF ORDERING FROM MAXI ZOO ONLINE !

They have no support worth talking about.

They are dishonest.

They are a disgrace.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !

UPDATE 08/01/25 :
PAYPAL FOUND IN MY FAVOUR AND AWARDED ME A REFUND FOR NON RECEIVED GOODS.

MAXIZOO ARE A CROWD OF CROOKS !!

I see Maxizoo have issued their usual "generic" response to customers who give them a low scores.

Maxizoo did NOT in fact issue me a refund, it was Paypal who found in my favour and issued me a refund.

I am quite sure that Maxizoo would NOT have issued a refund if Paypal had not found they were acting dishonestly.

My wording and description of this review is entirely accurate despite Maxizoo trying to indicate the opposite.
If everything had gone OK and they had acted honestly there would be no need for this review. So, it's all on Maxizoo.

ANYWAY, MY FINAL WORD ON THE MATTER IS TO RECOMMEND THAT, ANY PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS AVOID MAKING ANY ON-LINE PURCHASES FROM THIS AWFUL COMPANY.

Excellent service very quick and…

Excellent service very quick and efficient compared to another company I used and Thomaz from DPD always manages to get to my address compared to fast way and he doesn't want to damage his van.

I find Maxi Zoo a great company I have had no problems with ordering or receiving the order.

Do not recommend

Do not recommend, please use Zooplus instead. Ordered x2 12kg bags of Royal Canin food for my dogs on the 11th Dec. Received the wrong dog food, contacted Maxizoo who just informed me that it’s out of stock and they’ll issue a refund. It’s 5days before Xmas and my dogs will be left with no dog food and I’ll be €152 out of pocket until the refund goes through. It’s just not good enough.

OKAY,
I was hoping and intending to leave this company a 5 star review on this occasion but when my order was delivered to a wrong address and I had to spend the day chasing up a courier who would only offer to have it collected from an exposed wrong address having left it for the night exposed to the elements, vermin attack and TAMPERING, while the customer service dude disappeared and stopped responding to my emails after I asked him to resend it, because it's no longer safe and followed with two more emails from me, I just thought now I'll have to open a dispute with PayPal in an attempt to recoup something of my loss and find another company. I will up this review if the company responds favourably and very very fast but it's taken too much of my time already and very little of theirs. There is no point in having customer service staff in another country, they simply do not understand the logistics of IRELAND. all he would offer to do was to email dpd, like I HADN'T DONE IT A MILLION TIMES ALREADY.
I cannot write a 5 star review for a time sensitive expensive perishable dog food product that someone else received and whereas this is not strictly MAXIZOO'S fault, it certainly is not mine and my contract is with them. DPD are normally safe carriers but not on this and another recent occasion.

Careless and inefficient customer service will kill a company reputation faster than anything.
All he had to do was resend it immediately. He disappeared instead.
Then to top it all Maxizoo send me a happy little email this afternoon stating my order would be delivered soon, woo hoo! Same tracking number...

Everything falls to dust in Ireland, doesn't it? We put up with so much bad service.

Had to phone again today , to explain to someone called pieter everything I explained yesterday and asking why the food had not been resent, he decided I should wait another day because he had to send it somewhere via internal mail because he wasn't capable of dealing with it himself, who knew?
Run up to Xmasmeans I lost my order and I lost the guts of 70e. I never want to deal with this company again. IT's just my 2nd order, the first contained snark but it arrived safely, at least.. I don't usually review companies until I have received 3 orders minimum for the purpose of accuracy. The most frustrating experience ever, well DPD their co-defendants in this delivery is a very close second.

EDIT in response to late reply which shows this company does not take kindly to criticism. Latest trick is to make customer download and fill out a 'declaration of honour' stating customer doesn't have the purchase, this despite DPD having returned it to them several days ago and been supplied with a tracking number for that return. A bilocating bag of dogfood...!
I did lodge a formal complaint to ECCIE regarding your responsibilities and contractual obligations because it doesn't matter which of you screwed up quite honestly, it is your job and not mine to liaise with couriers (who have now redeemed themselves) I have also written to Norbert Marschallinger in relation to your practice and customer attitudes and hopefully he communicates with you directly.

YOU FAILED AND CUSTOMERS ARE NOT CRIMINALS, SIMPLE AS

Easy!

I consistently buy Royal Canin from Maxi Zoo for our two fussy pedigree cats. The mobile app remembers my previous order making it very easy and delivery is always very quick. Nothing trumps convenience! Highly recommend Maxi Zoo Ireland.

13 days on & still no delivery

Still no sign of order from 30/10. I keep having to repost on trust pilot as it’s the only way to get a reply from this company. Order number is 1521808736. Please contact me as I have tried to contact & you do not reply. The service is beyond a joke at this stage. It says a lot about this company when the only way to get a response is via posting reviews.
