Beautiful website, terrible service — five years of disappointment
I've been a Zooplus customer for approximately five years. If I'm being fair, the only positive thing I can say is that the website looks nice and functions well. That, unfortunately, is where the compliments end.
Delivery has always been abysmal. Frequent delays, orders that simply vanish, you name it. Every time I raised the issue, the company's excuse was always the same: they acknowledged problems with their shipping partner and promised they were working to find a more competent logistics provider. That promise was made repeatedly over the years, and nothing ever changed. It became clear that this was just lip service to buy time.
Things went from bad to ten times worse when Zooplus introduced "Zooplus Repeat," their recurring delivery option. The concept is simple enough: you schedule recurring deliveries of your pet's food so you never run out. But because their delivery service is absolute garbage, scheduling a recurrence means setting yourself up for a fresh new nightmare with every single shipment. Even when I scheduled the repeat order well ahead of time, allowing more than enough margin for a reasonable delivery window, the order still failed to arrive. My most recent order took over 10 days and still hadn't shown up.
The consequences of this incompetence are far more serious than a minor inconvenience. Instead of saving time, ordering from Zooplus becomes a constant headache. Your pet's food runs out because a delivery that should have arrived never did, despite having given them plenty of lead time. Then you find yourself rushing out late at night desperately searching for an open shop so your beloved pet doesn't go hungry. You can't find the same brand your pet eats, so you settle for a substitute, hoping for the best. And then comes the fun part: your pet refuses to eat the unfamiliar food, or worse, the abrupt switch gives them an upset stomach, and you wake up the next morning to find your living room covered in runny mess. Yes, that actually happened to me. All because Zooplus couldn't deliver on time.
My advice: choose a company that takes genuine responsibility for you and your pet, one that shows real commitment to providing a quality service. Zooplus is not that company. A pretty website means nothing when the fundamental service behind it is this unreliable.

I mean, what’s the actual point of zooplus.ie??
Uses poor courier services
For the 2nd time in a row, the courier (GLS) that Zooplus uses has failed to deliver my items when they’re supposed. For multiple days it’s out for delivery but is never delivered. Why do they insist on using these couriers?? This is a regular occurrence with this courier. Maybe time to report both companies to CCPC.

If I could give no stars I would, the delivery is never on time 3 to 6 working days is an out and out lie. They are a joke of a company and I would advise you all never to use zooplus. I for one will be cancelling my repeat order and ill never use this sham of a company again.

And the zoo plus reward points when I use them then you have to charmer to charge me a handling fee….., what a a cheep act on your behalf for you regular customers…… not much of a reward you just find another way to charge us. Not good enough

Terrible service
Terrible service. I ordered joint care tablets for my dog and 6 days after ordering they have still not been shipped. The courier received notification about the shipment but has still not received the package. Absolutely disgraceful. I would advise anyone who actually needs what they are ordering to shop elsewhere.

Have no idea why all the negative reviews have received a massive parrot cage 10kg bags of food no issues and no major delay in delivery all the reviews nearly turned me off ordering from them so said I better add a positive review.

Liars who take no responsibility
They completely skipped a repeat delivery of my cats' VETERINARY food without notice. There wasn't a cancelled order. There wasn't a back order. There just wasn't any order at all in my account. They weren't out of stock. They just didn't process my order. The representative I phoned when my order didn't arrive tried to pretend this was somehow my fault. She processed a new order but refused to expedite shipment. The order didn't even leave their warehouse for four additional days. A week later we are OUT OF FOOD and the company still claims I am at fault for not checking my account to make sure the order went out as scheduled. This is not my job, it is theirs. I was promised a partial refund from the first rep that was neither credited nor returned to my payment method. Also, they keep using Hermes/Evri as a delivery service even though they frequently delay and even lose my parcels. Miserable.
Oh, also, when they are out of stock of something in a repeat order, they don't ask if you want to substitute something. They just generate a new invoice and send whatever part of the order happens to be in stock, if anything.

Failure to deliver
My first order didn't arrive so contacted Zooplus and was told it had been delivered and to check around the house and with neighbour's, did all that and found nothing. They then told me the package hadn't even left the depot. I'm still waiting for the item, it's 4 days since I was told it had left their depot, delivery company still haven't received it.
The service is terrible do not use them, they are certainly off my list of suppliers.
Update:
After being told the item had been dispatched received am e-mail this morning to say that it hadn't left the warehouse and there was a further delay. Obviously cancelled the order for a full refund.

I buy dog food from Zooplus and it’s good and expensive however delivery is so slow, it can take 7 to 10 days which is v long considering I live in Ireland and it’s coming from the UK!!

Excellent products and I have had no issues with them. But the delivery service is shocking and is getting worse, always late and never within the rime frame specified. Please bring your delivery service in line with your excellent products and excellent customer service!

Poor customer service
Each time I place an order, the package has taken weeks to arrive, with no explanation, apology, or alert. I am now waiting nearly 7 weeks for my latest order, and definitely will not be ordering again. I would not recommend this service. Furthermore, they will not refund me despite my request to do so.
