Very disappointing experience

I placed an order, received the confirmation email and waited for delivery. When it seemed to be taking longer than usual, I logged into my account only to discover that Maxi Zoo had cancelled the order. No email. No notification. Had I not checked, I would have waited forever.
Cancelling an order is understandable. Not informing the customer is not. After years of buying food and supplies for my dog and cat from Maxi Zoo, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Top marks to Megan in Cork

Visited Maxi Zoo, Ballincollig, 6th July 2026. I was served by MEGAN who was extremely helpful and offered advice on various dog harnesses and halters.
The store was spotless, staff were very friendly, and there was a couple of dogs paying a visit.
There is a Maxizoo APP that Megan helped me download onto my phone which gave 10% discount off my first purchase.
I will definitely be back.

We had such a great experience at Maxizoo Clearwater Finglas

We had such a great experience at Maxi Zoo in Clearwater Shopping Centre, Finglas, thanks to Kelly. We came into the store in a complete panic because our dog, Milly, had just gone into heat and was due to stay with a dog minder the following day, as we were going on holiday. Kelly was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to look at Milly and helped us find the perfect strap-on nappy in the right size. She was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind, which really put us at ease during a stressful situation. Outstanding customer service – thank you so much, Kelly, for going above and beyond. You're a credit to the team!

Maxizoo sligo

I used to shop here regularly, things have changed now , the atmosphere is drab.

We loved bringing Codi in to have a sniff around , the girls were always so lovely in there and would go the extra mile even giving him treats etc. Now all we face is rude unpleasantness and no interest whatsoever in our dog and no one there to welcome us in. Will probably avoid in future

I have been ordering from Maxi Zoo for…

I have been ordering from Maxi Zoo for years but recently in the past few months every order has had something wrong. On two occasions I was sent the wrong item, other times they did not send the complete order. For my latest order even though everything arrived, one of the items a large bag of cat litter was torn open and looked to be sealed up with cellotape which did not hold and it spilled all over the box.

Took my Dog to the Finglas Maxi Zoo for…

Took my Dog to the Finglas Maxi Zoo for Grooming & a De-shead . I don't know why I bothered I paid €90 for NOTHING , maybe a Brushing. I ll rang several times was Finally given an appointment to bring him back , when I arrived the was nobody in the Groomer's it was Closed. Someone who works there in Store said we are not on the list to be seen. As she had to cancel all appointments, she explained there would be no Groomers till next Friday. She reassured me the following Friday someone would contact me in relation to this , & the mistake would be resolved. Tried to call to resolve this matter, got no answer, no call back , I want this delt with ASAP.

Expect very long time to get you items

Almost every time I do an order, I receive one or more mails saying the items are sold out. I did the last order one week ago, I received two mails about sold out items and the parcel has not been sent yet.

The maxi zoo in Mahon cork had quite a…

The maxi zoo in Mahon cork had quite a disgusting aquarium section and had many dead fish that had even mould growing on the dead fish alongside with live fish in the same tanks. The plants were nice and all but the amount of dead fish was very off putting.

No sign of delivery and items out of stock

We ordered 7 days ago, only this morning were we told that 2 thirds of our order was out of stock and they would be refunding us. No mention of when the order will actually arrive. When you try to sign in the page turns to German. Would give zero stars if possible, rubbish service.

Maxi zoo support is completely useless

Maxi zoo promises to deliver a package in 2-3 days, which is the only reason I bought there because it would arrive faster that where I usually shop (zooplus). And they managed to get my package delivered to another neighborhood (that I have never been to before). I contacted them as soon as I found out it was delivered to the wrong place, they said they’d call the delivery partner and try to get them to retrieve the package and deliver it to me on the same day and send me an email about it. They didn’t do anything, I didn’t receive any email. I then raised a ticket on the website. They also didn’t reply. I called again today and the guy just said he’s sorry and that I have to have patience and didn’t give me any dates of when the food is expected to arrive or anything. It’s my cats food we’re taking about. He needs to eat. I’m traveling tomorrow and now I have to go out of my way to go to a pet shop to get his food, which was precisely why I wanted to avoid when I ordered it online. I asked for the cancellation of the order and an refund and he didn’t let me cancel it. Now I don’t have my package, don’t have my money back and will have to go out to buy it. Contratulations to your support system, you’re completely useless. I’ll never shop with maxi zoo again.

Terrible experience with my recent…

Terrible experience with my recent order (#1530966317). Placed on June 3, 2026, but immediately faced delivery delays due to warehouse issues. On June 11, I was informed that items were out of stock. With nothing dispatched by June 14, I emailed to request a full cancellation. Despite my request, I received an invoice for the order later that same day. Extremely frustrating and poor communication. I would not recommend shopping here

Very disappointing customer experience

Very disappointing customer experience. I ordered cat food on 1st June and as of now I still even have not recieved a tracking number. Bogus promises by customer service. Contacted multiple times but nothing substantial out of the conversation. The customer service in my last call promised that the item will be delivered to me maximum by Tuesday 9th June but I did not even get a valid tracking. I have to collect the kitten tomorrow and I am not ready yet with food. Very unprofessional.

Unacceptable

Like many reviewers here I’m appalled by the th service on the website. It states 1-3 working days for delivery but one week later and still not even a despatched email. The order was initially cancelled at the time it was too late to call then the order was partially cancelled due to an unavoidable item. Called today, and still no clear answer, I can’t wait any longer and I need to get the products in person so I requested a cancellation and refund only to be told it’ll be “looked into” which I have very little hope for. I had said I just won’t shop on their site but this is so beyond unacceptable at this point I won’t be shopping there at all.

MAXIZOO IRELAND-APPALLING ONLINE SERVICE

Appalling online service from MAXIZOO IRELAND. It takes in excess of five days to recieve goods (though the website says they deliver in 3 days). Deliver from Dublin/ Cork to Galway for heaven sake! The wrong number of cans were despatched...yes, you can guess, minus one can! Inability to count in the warehouse perhaps🤔 Then to top it all, 11 of the 17 cans of dog food that were delivered were dented. Wholly inadequate packaging. Finally, no comminucation from DPD to say they were on the way (the website says I would be contacted on dispatch). The DPD driver said Maxizoo did not forward my mobile number to them! So disappointed.

Very poor service from Maxie zoo
They got the delivery address wrong, and after waiting a week I still have no dog food and no refund. I was promised a callback on Thursday, but nobody contacted me. I ended up having to ring four or five times myself.
I’ve wasted at least half an hour on the phone trying to sort out an order that should have been straightforward. They took my payment in seconds, but a week later I’m still waiting for both the dog food and the refund of around €30–€40.
Overall, a very frustrating experience. I wouldn’t bother ordering from them again.

Företag kan be sina kunder om omdömen via automatiska inbjudningar. Dessa omdömen markeras som verifierade för att visa att det handlar om verifierade upplevelser.
