The installers are a top class team very professional

Paid £2034.00 for a Hormann Thermo 46 door- had nothing but trouble from installation with the door seal not fitting problem, having several visits. The latest ( 4 years down the line) it appears to have been allowing water to ingress very slowly and has rotted my skirting board near to the door. Garage door centre were not really interested spares and repairs people ( very off hand ) informing me that it was £140.00 just to come and look and it was 4 years since installing ( 10 year guarantee offered by other companies) Eventually after speaking with a company director got an engineer to visit and at my expense £ 195.00 they have installed a weather bar on the door- Not impressed that a supposed quality German engineered door has given so much trouble- I would question if it was installed correctly in the first instance not a good experience all round.

Recently, Nathan and Owen installed two garage doors for me, and I must say, the service exceeded my expectations. Punctual, respectful, and diligent throughout the day, they maintained a high level of cleanliness and displayed unwavering dedication to their work. Their impeccable attention to detail truly stood out, and I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone seeking exceptional service.

Excellent service, kept informed from start to finish. New garage door fitted in less than 2 hours. No mess. Service for sales and install has been great. Fitters were friendly and very efficient.

In early January, I phoned repairs and requirements for an additional component for my garage door. I assumed this would be a longish job, given the call out charge and the fact that an engineer would not be available for 3 weeks. The day of the installation arrived and having heard nothing, I telephoned at midday to check that an engineer would be coming. I was told that my job would be the engineer’s last of the day and to expect him between 12.30 and 2.30 thus confirming my belief that this was a longish installation.

By 4.30, no engineer had arrived. I telephoned to enquire when the engineer might arrive and was told he was not coming as he had a domestic emergency. I asked why nobody had bothered to ring to let me know, having hung around at home all afternoon, and was told that the office did not have my contact details as this was with the engineer. I find it incredible that the central office had no record of my contact details or why, when the engineer informed the central office of his problem, nobody bothered to collect my contact number from him.

The next day I had a telephone call to set up the date for an engineer to call. This would be another week, so a month from the original order. The day before his arrival I had a call confirming the visit and the fact it would be in the afternoon.

The engineer arrived at 4pm and, to my surprised finished the job at 4.30pm. My job fitted in nicely with their schedule as the previous job had been in Bedford and they had to pass through my village for the return to Wellingborough. I am very happy with the work of the engineer.

The next day when it was time to pay, I queried the call out charge of £ 150, when the engineer had only been here for 30 minutes and had not had to deviate from his previous job. I was told that £150 was the standard hourly rate and I would have to pay that.

So, some good parts and some poor service followed by and excessive call out charge. I note I am not the first to make such an observation.

The team were on time, efficient, extremely polite and did a cracking job, cleaning up too and disposing of all packaging. A great job all round and happy to recommend The Garage Door Centre to any and all.

Arranged for a garage door replacement. James and Ben arrived on time, were polite, and were able to take into consideration my requests when fitting. Very pleased with the new door.

Given 5 stars due to the excellent service provided by its personnel - Dan Barnes ( Salesman) Nathan and Owen ( Installation Engineers) , to name a few. Dan was always available to respond to my concerns and his advice was valuable as he takes time out to understand your needs. Overall very pleased with it all .

Needed a small part replacing under warranty after barely a year. £140 call out fee - two engineers turned up for 10 minutes (5 minutes to unscrew the faulty part and screw in the new one and 5 mins for a chat). Nice work if you can get it!

Compelled to pay the call out fee - had no other choice if we wanted a working garage door.

The charge should be proportionate - they will obviously know how much work and time is required based on the job. In addition, they will batch the jobs up so they can do several in one area (it wasn't like they came next day) so why not divide the call out fee amongst the customers being visited on that day or the manufacturer should shoulder some of it - they are the ones providing a 7 year warranty! They should stand by their product and if goes wrong, cover the cost of the repair / replacement with the fitter.

It just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and you feel compmetely ripped off when they turn up for 5 minutes and then leave.

In contrast, we had a bathroom fitted 2 years ago and a tap went wrong. The fitters came out and replaced it the same week under warranty. They had to come from 30 mins away and they spent the best part of 2 hours. No charge.

After having a new door fitted in February this year which is fantastic and has been working fine. Wanted to get it adjusted to open slightly more to allow access to my van. Jo updated me constantly with times on the day and Ben & Nathan arrived when due had it opening exactly how I wanted not even time for a brew!!!! Those lads are brilliant and the whole team are a proper good to do business with company, working in modern times but not loosing site of the customer care of yesterday. Top marks again

It all started off with a conversation with Jon Ager at The Garage Door Centre; a very knowledgeable and helpful chap, who made the whole process of purchasing my new roller shutter garage door, easy. This was followed up buy a visit from the surveyor, who checked the opening for size and suitability. The door was fitted by two fitters, the lead hand being Nathan, who was very precise and particular with removing the old door and fitting the new, all to my satisfaction. The whole team, Joanne Vann, Lara Fardon and Steve Ballard back in the office, made the whole experience a pleasant one. I can whole heartedly recommend The Garage Door Company.

We are very pleased with our new garage doors fitted by you. The fitters arrived in good time that was stated, after they completed the work we had all the paperwork explained to us. All the workings of the doors was fully explained asked for any further questions from us and told us any problems arising later who we needed to get in touch with. Overall a very professional experience was delivered. All down to Scott and Justin on the day. Both very pleasant to deal with.

As with my previous experience of using these guys, I received a perfect service again. Prompt, polite, reasonably priced. From 1st contact, to site surveyor and installation the works were dealt with to a high standard. James and Ben that fitted the two doors did so in just over an hour with absolutely no fuss. Will certainly use again on our next project
