I was on the flight from Muscat to Istanbul flight OV825, I entered the boarding hall, I requested to leave the hall to buy water, staff refused to allow me to leave even tho there was still 40min to the flight.
I waited 40min feeling thirsty and to make matters worse the flight was already a hour late.
Terrible experience
I had a terrible experience with this airline. I purchased a direct flight from Seronera to Zanzibar, which was quite expensive.
A few days before departure, I was informed via email that the flight would no longer be direct and would now include a stopover.
During the stopover, there was total disorganization: we were forced to leave the plane with our luggage, go through security again, and re-board the same aircraft — something I had never seen before and found utterly unacceptable.
I contacted customer service asking for clarification and compensation, but they never replied.
A terrible service for an absurd price. I would not recommend this airline to anyone.

Worst airline in the world. They just cancel the flight and moreover the customer care number provided is not at all working. We called from KSA by spending money and no response from this airline. Such airlines should be immediately closed by CAA Oman.

SCAM!! STAY AWAY. Absolutely awful. We are on Kenya on holiday and they have cancelled our flight 2 days before we are supposed to leave to go to Thailand. We only found out by checking the app. They didn’t even email us. We’ve spent 20 minutes on the phone (which they charge for) to someone who kept trying to give us a voucher and left us on hold only to tell us we have to wait and apply for a refund and may not get it any time soon. They tried to give us a voucher to rebook but there are no available flights to even rebook so it’s a complete scam. DO NOT BOOK THIS AIRLINE.

Ticket delay
My payment was issued and the money substracted from my account, but then the system froze so I didn't get any booking reference or flight ticket. Tried to contact thier "24/7" call center but I ended up wasting 1 hour on hold without talking to anyone.
Update:
I called the support again in the morning and they responded this time, they told me I would receive my ticket later that day, and I did. I am still a bit disappointed about the earlier delay in support.

• Vous avez attendu une heure parce que le personnel ne reconnaissait pas un passeport européen et un visa indien, ce qui est une erreur inadmissible pour une compagnie aérienne.
• Ensuite, vous avez attendu 45 minutes supplémentaires parce qu’ils remettaient en cause vos cartons d’équipement sportif, alors que leurs propres règles précisent simplement que tout carton dépassant 160 cm entraîne des frais supplémentaires – sans mentionner le montant de ces frais sur leur site.
• Vos cartons ne faisaient que 140 cm, donc totalement conformes, mais ils ont quand même essayé de compliquer les choses sans raison.
• Le chef de l’équipe était particulièrement arrogant, rendant l’expérience encore plus désagréable.
En résumé, un service inefficace, un personnel incompétent et une gestion chaotique des bagages. Je déconseille fortement cette compagnie.

I booked a ticket on the Bombay-Doha route and had to cancel it within 24 hours due to some technical reasons. When I cancelled the ticket booked for Rs. 18500, I got a voucher of Rs. 1000. I have booked tickets of many airlines and sometimes had to cancel them. No one has charged more than 20% cancellation fee. Money is credited back within one week. Instead of money, they give vouchers, which is about 5% of the ticket price. Even worse, that 5% was too much. Please think not once but at least three times while booking Salam Air. Aftersale customer service is a dream.

My Name is Suhail Ahmed, I travelled several times in Salam Air. I never had any comments regarding thr service level. On 23rd of Jan'25, I booked a ticket from Doha to Colombo via Muscat. That day I had a minor infection. When I boa rd from Doha to muscat, I felt bit uncomfortable, requested to a cabin crew member to use the washroom, they allowed me to use it without any hesitation.
The same issue I have faced when I entered in the aircraft, fromMuscat to Colombo. I requested to a cabin crew member she was bit rude,told me that, still no water and to wait for sometimes. Which is a joke that should have been told to a child. Lately I came to know, she's the cabin supervisor and her her name is Kadeeja. I patiently waited for sometimes, she didn't notify me anything i was so uncomfortable. I approached a crew member, she was very politely told me to use it. When tried to enter the washroom, i was again forcefully stopped by the cabin crew supervisor and she told me in a very loud tone that she already told me to not come now. I politely told her that, I approached your crew member and she guided me to use it. She's was very upset and told me that she's the supervisor and no one can allow to do so. It was so embarrassing to face her infront of all the passengers and she doesn't know even ABC of customer service, and she should be rehabilitated. I have noticed, that she kept that washroom closed until she entered. Based on my observations during my flights, the qualities she have mostly matches to be a zoo keeper not a cabin supervisor. I wonder how a person with this kind of attitude could have promoted to lead a cabin, absolutely nonsense. I strongly express my deeper disappointment and I won't book my return flight to Doha or not recommend Salam air to someone. Based on the mood I had that day, I should1hav e spoken to captainand I didn't want to ruin their mood for an uncivilised individual.

100% failure rate
I had four flights booked on As Salaam, all on the same route - Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar at 19:00 (2 outbound, 2 return). For the first flight, I received a boarding pass from a completely different flight leaving three hours later. On the second, I was informed that my flight was leaving four and a half hours earlier and going to Arusha, about two hours drive from my actual destination. The third flight was rebooked without consultation from Arush and also left three hours earlier. The fourth flight was the best as As Salam didn't bother contacting me, I just received a boarding pass from a completely different airline at a different time.
Four flights. Four failures. What was particularly special was the communication from their team. One message would be on WhatsApp, a follow up by email. Questions were met with total silence or puerile responses. It was like trying to negotiate with a small child.
All of these changes meant that I had to replan elements of my holiday at enormous expense and could never be certain if I even had a flight. It's not a great way to spend your holiday.
Airline treats passengers as it’s not them who are bringing them money
Flight from Muscat to Lahore. We were standing in the line for check in for 1.5 hours. Same counters were serving 4 flights. We came several times to the counters explaining that our flight will leave at 23:00. Representative called supervisor several times, all ok, flight is open. Then just called people from 2 flights - Lahore and Islamabad - around 20 people, said the flights are closed and we need to wait - maybe they’ll try to find us other flights. In another 30 min they said - flights were overbooked, and there is nothing they can do. It was airport representatives. SalamAir representative didn’t even show up. When we asked - what’s going to be with our ticket, they said - it’s going to be treated as no-show. Tried to call the call-line, stayed on the phone for 20 min, no one picked up, then line disconnected.
If its an attitude to passengers who are paying them money, what’s their attitude to their staff including the airplanes maintenance people and what’s the motivation of those people to do their job well?
Delay and Lazy Staff!!!!
On 3/1/25 I was booked on flight OV0247 at 5.55pm from Oman to Dubai.
They delayed the flight 3 TIMES!!!! FINALLY... The plane went at 10pm to Dubai. All public transport to my place has finished for the day and no compensation by Salam for my return trip from the Airport to Home!
When the FINALLY opened the gate, the staff worked AS SLOWLY AS THEY POSSIBLY could.
I asked the staff at the airport information desk about why the plan is being continued to delay and they actually laughed at me and said "Salam Air has too much trouble. Don't use this airline. Better use Oman Air or Fly Dubai"... I learned the hard way... I thought Air Asia was bad, but this is now on top of my list of the worst Airlines worldwide 🙄

Avoid if you can, if there is any change in your flight you will never get your money back & will issue a voucher ONLY YOU can use which is very ridiculous because its money i should be able to use it however i want.
Its a way of taking your money saying you already agreed to this when you accepted our terms and conditions.

I had a return flight from hydrabad to Doha with them everything was good until the day of the flight I'm in the airport I was informed that there is no such thing flying from ghandi airport I call them they said we have inform everyone 10 days earlier we might skip your email by mistake no other explanation
Next time even they will be the only flight last in the world I won't take it
Beware of the airlines booking systems
Beware of the airlines booking systems! My wife and I booked on-line, it took our payment and provided no booking reference or confirmation details.
On the phone, the customer service agent was quite helpful and after investigation, told us if we booked again she would effect a refund for the first booking.
Only once we had done this were we informed the refund would take 3 weeks!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, SALAM AIR OWES ME €1000!!! My boyfriend and I wanted to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and make the journey of our lives by going to Thailand. We saved money for a long time since we have little to spend. Six (6) days before departure, we received an automatic text from salam air, notifying us that oir flight was cancelled and thanking us for our understanding… i called customer service (which is available 24/7 according to salam air) right away, but the phone is not being picked up… I also emailed multiple times, send direct messages on social media (I’m a topfan on their Facebook!). Since february 1st I have not received a SINGLE ANSWER from salam air. They owe me €1000 for the tickets, additional compensation (around €600), I spend €150 in calling to Oman but have not spoken to one enployee, AND I HAD TO BUY NEW TICKETS FROM DUSSELDORF TO BANGKOK 6 DAYS IN ADVANCE!! Very expensive and terrible experience. We are just students and have little resources and they know it. PLEASE PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE #boycottsalamair

La compagnia ci ha cancellato il volo due giorni prima della partenza caisandoci non pochi problemi e non ci ha rimborsato nulla ! Abbiamo provato a metterci in contatto con loro tramite telefono ma per pochi secondi di conversazione si è azzerato il credito telefonico e non hanno una mail . Arrivati a muscat siamo andati direttamente al banco prenotazioni per avere un rimborso e invece ci hanno solo preso in giro ! Una compagnia pessima che non fa onore all’Oman !
