Salam Air is the worst airline I have…

Salam Air is the worst airline I have experienced so far. I recently traveled with them (Muscat-Mumbai-Muscat) and had a very unpleasant experience.

To begin with, at Muscat Airport there is only a single queue for all international destinations (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc...), which leads to unnecessary congestion and long waiting times. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the boarding counter. The oman airport ground staff were also not courteous.

Additionally, if you have not completed web check-in, they charge OMR 3 for check-in at the counter.

Inside the aircraft, I was shocked by the condition of the lavatory—it was unhygienic, extremely cramped, and uncomfortable to use. The wash basin was leaking, and there was a foul smell throughout.

When it comes to onboard service, even basic courtesy is missing. Unlike IndiGo, which provides a complimentary glass of water, SalamAir charges 500 baiza for a 500 ml bottle of water.

Baggage policy is another drawback—while IndiGo allows 7 kg cabin and 30 kg check-in baggage, SalamAir is very strict and charges OMR 5 per extra kilogram, payable only at the counter.

Unless you have no other option, I would not recommend booking SalamAir for travel. Better to pay little more to other airlines and travel conveniently.. Salam Air is not that cheaper and has hidden charges thereby asking money for everything

Never book a flight with this airline

Never book a flight with this airline. I tried to make a booking and input credit card details but there was no booking confirmation webpage or email. So I assumed the booking had not gone through and made a different booking through a third party (which included a SalamAir flight). A week later SalamAir charged my credit card for the original booking despite me still having no form of email confirmation. After lots and back of forth with their hopeless Customer Service team, no refund was issued so I am £353 down. To make matters worse they cancelled and purported to refund the duplicate flight (ie the one booked with the third party) despite me not authorising this. I’ve travelled to 120+ countries with many different airlines and never had a worse experience than with SalamAir. This was essentially fraud. Stay well away!

Complain

Yes sir, my name is Abdul Wahab. I had a flight from Muscat to Peshawar on 5th January. Due to bad weather, the flight could not reach Peshawar and we were offloaded in Sialkot. However, until now we have not received our baggage.

We have called the airport and SalamAir helpline many times, but we are not getting any proper response from them. We are very worried about our luggage because there are some items in it that can get damaged if they are not delivered on time.

Please let us know what we can do to get our baggage as soon as possible. Kindly find a solution to this issue urgently. Otherwise, I will be forced to take legal action.

One of the worst airline I have ever…

One of the worst airline I have ever see after westjet. Request everyone if you want to avoid any disruption or any delay or paying extra money then would request you don’t buy ticket from here. I was going from Jeddah to mascat and for the luggage they charge me 169 riyal.

Scam company

Scam company. They don't reproduction you if you miss your connection and no airline staff around in the airport. Avoid Salam air, rude and aggressive. Doesn't look even an airline in a Muslim country!

تجربة سيئة جدًا مع طيران السلام في رحلتي من مسقط إلى مطار سفنكس في مصر.
في التذكرة مكتوب أن معي حقيبة "تحت الكرسي" بدون أي تحديد لحجم أو نوع الحقيبة، ومع ذلك تم رفض حقيبتي رغم أنها أصغر حجم ممكن، فقط لأنها ليست "حقيبة ظهر"!
ولا يوجد أي شيء في التذكرة يذكر هذا الشرط نهائيًا.

والأغرب أن الشنطة وزنها ٥ كيلو فقط، وهو ضمن الوزن المسموح به في التذكرة أساسًا، ومع ذلك اضطررت أدفع ١٩ ريال عماني عشان آخذها معي على الطيارة.
قبل الدفع قالوا إنها "تعليمات أمن وسلامة"، وبعد الدفع سمحوا لي بأخذها بشكل طبيعي جدًا!

غير منطقي أبدًا إن سعر التذكرة بالكامل يكون ٤٤ ريال وأدفع ١٩ ريال إضافية على شنطة صغيرة وزنها ٥ كيلو ومسموح بها أصلًا!

تجربة سيئة بكل المقاييس، والشركة بدل ما تحل مشاكل الركاب بتخلقها لإجبار الناس يدفعوا مبالغ إضافية.
بصراحة، ما أنصح أي شخص يسافر مع طيران السلام

A very bad experience with Salam Air on my flight from Muscat to Sphinx Airport in Egypt.
My ticket clearly mentioned a “bag under the seat,” with no specific size or type requirements.
However, my small bag was rejected just because it wasn’t a “backpack,” even though that rule was never mentioned anywhere.

What’s worse, the bag weighed only 5 kg — which is already within the allowed cabin baggage limit!
Still, I was forced to pay 19 OMR just to take it on board.
Before paying, they said it was a “safety regulation,” but after I paid, they let me take it without any issue.

It makes absolutely no sense that the full ticket price was 44 OMR, yet I had to pay 19 OMR extra for a 5 kg bag that’s actually allowed.

A terrible experience overall — instead of solving customers’ problems, this airline seems to create them just to charge more money.
Honestly, I would never recommend Salam Air to anyone.

Worst baggage rules

When travelled by SalamAir, from Jiddah airport , the baggage rule is 30kg main + 5 kg cabin luggage is allowed, but, forced to make 30kg as single item and suggested to use wrapping machine, which is 50 SAR (about price of back pack). I paid 100 SAR for wrapping of baggage for my family.

I could not understand the logic behind it, because the load on the aircraft does not effect with one or two items.

After wrapping of luggage, it is very difficult to handle them, since the handles are not accessible.

More over the baggage is damaged, which shows rough handling during loading and unloading. It is very difficult to identify the luggage on airport conveyor.

Now, after spending the money for wrapping, got damaged suitcases and other problems, I felt, SalamAir is not economical and head-ache. I never recommend SalamAir to anyone in future with my experience.

Ma meilleure de l’année - pire compagnie au monde

Ma meilleure de l’année, signée SalamAir :
Vol Salalah–Mascate prévu à 21h50, retardé à 23h25 sans aucune annonce orale.
On a découvert le retard sur le panneau d’affichage, après avoir déposé nos bagages à 20h… alors que tout était encore affiché “on time”.
Aucun personnel visible, aucune explication, aucun mail.
Après avoir déjà décalé l’aller et le retour une première fois, SalamAir réussit l’exploit de cumuler le silence, l’impréparation et l’irrespect.
Je voyage avec deux enfants. Deux journées de voyage gâchées. Aucune réponse à mes mails.

Inadmissible. À fuir.

I think that I was robbed by SalamAir…

I think that I was robbed by SalamAir employees at Masirah Island airport. Story: I was flying Muscat - Masirah. I had sports equipment for which I paid 30 Omani reais. When I was flying Masirah - Muscat, the airport employees charged me more than $400 for my luggage. Arguing that I should pay for my luggage by the kilogram. And they charged me several times for the same item. The flight was on 5.07.25. One of the airport employees was extremely aggressive, who later checked passports before the security check. He said that they didn’t charge me when I was flying Muscat - Masirah because of the mafia. I don’t know what’s in this person’s head. I am attaching all the evidence. And I ask you to look into the robbery.

continuation of the story: for three days in a row, the call center employees from Salamair tormented me on the phone. They seemed to say that they would refund the money! For three days, our conversation boiled down to the following: call center: "tell me the code that you received from the bank" me: "such and such a code" employee: "it didn't go through. tell me the code that you received from the bank" me: "such and such a code" employee: "it didn't go through, tell me the code..." and so on for an hour, every day for three days. They said that I had a problem with my bank card, but I tried THREE DIFFERENT BANK CARDS: Turkish, Oman and Kazakhstani, issued to different people! In the end, they said that a transfer via wise was needed, and they disappeared...

And right now they block me in Facebook!

will never use this airline again

will never use this airline again, i forgot to check in online I reached 1 and half hour before departure and they already closed the checkin counters and said you are late i was sick badly and was trying to reach home ASAP i missed my flight as they said contact helpline, numbers given in helpline no one was picking up, very very disappointing and bad experience, my ticket was flexi so changed the flight on plane i asked about blanket and they said we will charge for blanket woow, food was disgusting who did not had flexi ticket they were not even served with water, staff was saying we will charge for water. Better to run bus service not plane even bus service will be better than this airlines
