Cats Protection Omdömen 

After hundreds of questions to check my ability to look after a cat(not a baby) .I made an appointment to view a cat. The day of this had terrible traffic thru York so I called to re-arrange, had to deal with an extremely bossy woman on the phone. The appointment was re-arranged for the following sun. This day had a storm in York with high winds & torrential rain. I got the bus right across town & got to the cat shelter 15mins early.An extremely rude man didn’t want to let me inside as I was too “early” literally expected me to stay out in the storm .He said that’s what appointments are for .I explained that I used the bus & had done my best with the timing. He begrudgingly let me into his office out of the storm ,I was so angry by this point that I left .I won’t bother with this charity ever again- and I feel sorry for the cats!

Just looking at these reviews and the way cats.org.uk operate, they should be taken over by another company that actually cares and looks out for the poor cats.

Went to go see a cat in one of your Gosport volunteers homes. When arrived I was shocked to see the area that the cat was in. The cat’s name is Matty and he is still on your page. Matty is being kept in a small storage like area , away from the house , in the back garden. The area is cramped and fulled to the max with toys , food and even a chair and radio. There are multiple shelves by the entrance, all packed full with food and bowls and other toys. When Chris ( the extremely rude and disrespectful volunteer) entered the area , she barely had any space to stand as the floor was completely covered with crap. We decided to take Matty home. Matty was on a behaviour plan as he had apparently nipped his volunteers . WHAT UTTER CRAP !!! Matty did in fact nip and BITE , he did not have a behaviour issue , he had a personality disorder which he gained as he was originally a stray and was taken from him large environment and shoved into this small enclosure. Matty was stuck between being the predator stray he was born as and the loving family cat they wanted him to be. Having Matty stuck in that small storage place with no other people or family members with him , only small parts of the day was Chris actually going in the area to see Matty , it was stopping him from developing any social interaction. How do you expect this poor cat to find a loving family when you keep him in a place smaller than Harry potters cupboard under the stairs and have him on a behaviour plan that does absolutely nothing for him as he has A PERSONALITY DISORDER NOT A BEHAVIOUR ISSUE BECAUSE THE WAY CHRIS IS LOCKING HIM UP AND THE WAY YOU SO CALLED CATS PROTECTION ARE ‘PROTECTING ‘ THAT POOR CAT !!!

I am thinking of donating. I love cats. Your trustpilot review is not convincing me though. Was literally about to do it. But 3.1 is not good enough. I have the idea that you do good work with cats, I would work with this gladly, however I feel your PR is less than satisfactory. You need to work at this. After all, this is all that we have to go on as people who don’t know you. I understand a centralised cat care system is needed, however these reviews don’t persuade me that I shouldn’t just, as usual, adopt stray cats, even though I shouldn’t and can’t afford it. Sorry, I am sure your intentions are worthy.

I had lots older cats. All sudden. I not allowed. Cats protection my ass update....... Applied for a cat. Received a call said they will get back to me. It's been 3 months. This is typical from cats protection. This scam of an organisation should be destroyed. Blue cross or RSPCA in future. Never will I donate to cats protection ever again.

Contacted cats protection about two stray cats in Stockport. I've heard nothing even after phoning many times. Very upset ad I have sponsored a pen for many years and have monies from my mobile phone for kittens. Not atall happy.

I fostered 4 cats unofficially for 2 months (as cp did not have any spaces to take them). 3 of them, I cared for and paid for their food (as the food cp provided me with was not suitable for a nursing cat), they went off to nice homes that I found for them locally. One other baby (that I hand reared for a month) was poorly. She was too small for the vet to treat. After a month of looking after her (and her being happy, loving and gaining weight daily), they came and took her away and amputed her leg without telling me. They unwillingly sent me updates (I was allowed only one email weekly) After a month of platitudes, where I was told I could visit and told I could adopt her, I was finally told that I was an unsuitable owner for her as she had 'rage syndrome' even though she is described as 'fun and suitable for a family' on her ad. Please think twice about fostering for them, they will leave you heartbroken.

As to my formal complaint about the way I was treated by cats protection caterham and Redhill rehoming a cat I've STILL NOT HAD ANY APOLOGIES about this problem from anyone DISCUSSING I did speak to a lady on the phone who said she would pass on the complaint DID SHE??? Or was it swept under the carpet and wasn't interested at all

I contacted Cat Protection in Leicestershire to ask for help with 2 feral kittens that had been abandoned by their mother. I told the lady who responded that I have been feeding them but would like help to trap and get them neutered. I believe they could be rehomed as they were young enough. They are probably about 6 months old now although I am only guessing, apparently this is to old to domestic them and was told Cat Protection no longer pay to spay feral kittens/ cats and would have to pay for them myself. I am on a pension and have 2 cats and a dog myself so no spare cash. I am concerned they will not survive the winter and if they do, will have more kittens. They have become very tame towards me and are waiting for me every morning for their food and interacting with me. I always donate to animal charities when I can including CP. I have left a bequest in my will to CP which I will now remove. Very disappointed by their lack of interest and help in the welfare of these cats.

I would just like to say that sometimes I am not sure cats protection truly know cats. We adopted our lovely tabby boy about 3 years ago. We were expecting a 9 month old lady cat as company for our siamese. Due to a mix up we got a 4 month old boy. The mistake was noticed very quickly and the cats protection offered to pick him up. We were told he did not get on with other cats.
This was just not true. By the end of the day they were happily hogging the settee together.
Please Please please do not deny a cat a loving home because you think they will not get on with other cats or you think a road is too busy or too close by. A life in a cage is no life for a cat.
By the way, I jumped through hoops to get my boy but after dropping him off not once did anyone check he was ok. Am ever grateful for him though🐈‍⬛

0 stars for this place,a old lady left you 50k in her will to look after cats when she passed away,you dirty people tuk her money and left cats the die on there own,never will I use u a lot again,the cats are old and need to be together but a beautiful lady who rescues cats tike the home to found them a for ever home,boy cot this company,well done to people who rescued them 😡😡😡😡

I have contacted cats protection through their online form about leaving my contents in a will to cats protection its been days and no response maybe it sounds to them not enough money to be made. I donate now and then to cats protection for the cats and only hope it goes to help the cats and not the people's pockets. Im also waiting on a will package being posted out but im annoyed I never got a response to my email after completing the online form asking about leaving contents in my will.

I had a visiting stray (unneutered) upsetting my cats and spraying all over the house, not microchipped - local Cats Protection lady loaned me a cat trap, we got him neutered and now he's part of my family and an old man! Couldn't have done it without the charity, now I'm a long term supporter. Great info from them by e mail, and interesting cat facts and guidance. If you love cats, if you own a cat, be a part of it and you always feel you've got back up!

I pay in a monthly Prescription to support cat protection, and regularly buy raffle tickets, because they are a wonderful cause and I had a cat from my local cat protection who lived 21 years, her name was Fifi

Cats Protection is a charity that I've been involved with for all my adult life. It's the only place to go if you want a cat. Don't buy a pedigree - adopt a cat or kitten from CP. Their fosterers and local branch officers are so thoughtful and caring, and make sure you understand your responsibilities as a new cat owner.

Cats you adopt from CP will be wormed, treated for fleas and given their injections, so they'll be set up for their lives with you. The adoption fee barely covers these things. Many times the cat will also be neutered, or you may qualify for a neutering voucher that covers (fully or partially) the cost of neutering them if they are not yet old enough for this procedure when they leave the care of CP.

Please consider adopting an older cat, too. They do not necessarily cost you more, and if they need ongoing treatment, this may be something the local branch will cover for you indefinitely, depending on the individual case.

Finally, please consider volunteering for CP, if you can find the time. There are never too many volunteers to help in a whole host of different ways and using many different skills. We are so lucky to have CP, advocating for cats nationally and caring for them, helping deal with feral cats, and always fundraising, locally.

If you ever wanted to do a little good in the world, support CP. It will never be taken for granted, and your time and money will never be wasted.

No, they haven't paid me for this write-up, LOL! I am just someone who has had cats all her life and who will always turn to CP after one of my cats dies - (I have found it's the best way to get over the loss of one cat) - to fill the need of another cat for a loving permanent home. I cannot recommend them too highly.

I have only had good experiences with Cat's Protection. I appreciate the videos/newsletters and the knowledge that many cats are saved and rehabilitated who would otherwise suffer cruelty and abandonment.

Cats protection over the years have helped me,and friends help feral cats that we've rescued by paying for spaying and neutering.. I have found all of the staff absolutely amazing.

Mitcham, South London Branch - Great experience adopting our little boy, Chip. It was easy and seamless and all of the people working there were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I couldn't fault it to be honest.

Whilst the welfare of the animals is excellent at Cat's Protection (immediate response and action to a stray cat needing urgent medical care), I'm sorry to say that the admin needs some work. The workers or volunteers at Plymouth and Rame branch need to ensure that correct information is posted on their adverts to avoid getting people's hopes up. Also, it would be a good idea to get foster carers of the cats to visit homes themselves so that they can make INFORMED decisions rather than going by another random person's account. This is from a person whose family have owned/cared for traumatised cats (Ukrainian refugee family's cats who travelled by car with the family from Kiev to Plymouth and experienced bombings and other atrocities), very sick cats (feline AIDS, dementia, kidney issues etc.), many strays, multiple timid cats who eventually get used to each other and become friendly with each other because of our methods to gently introduce. It's a real shame because they have so many cats that need good homes and we would have been one of them.

The cats protection downham market centre was honestly amazing.

We enquired about our now fur baby and they were so quick to respond, so attentive and friendly. Our appointment to meet the kitten was fab, Jess answered all our questions, was patient with us and didn’t make us feel silly or stupid at all.

The entire process is as seamless, the staff were incredible and we are so so happy with our adoption and the experience we received.

The follow up call we great and we are just so over the moon
