I have had multiple instances where The Courier Guy failed to collect a parcel on the scheduled day. To make matters worse, their system is updated with the reason that nobody was home, which is completely FALSE as I stay home all day waiting, because I expect the pick-up. It is frustrating to hold my entire day open, only for them not to show up, forcing me to go nowhere again the next day, and not being sure if they will actually come. This level of service is poor, unacceptable, and directly impacts our business operations. Furthermore, their WhatsApp support line and website chatbot are useless for getting direct answers on issues like this. They only provide automated status updates and cannot resolve actual problems. Email support just replies with generic escalation messages. Considering they have GPS tracking, they should be able to locate a driver instantly. Reliability and support need to improve significantly.

I sent a 2-week-old R15,000 graphics card through this courier to be tested at Wootware. The box was clearly marked with MULTIPLE “FRAGILE” stickers.
When it arrived, it looked like it had been drop-kicked, thrown down stairs, and finished off with a friendly game of soccer. The GPU was damaged beyond question.
And then the real insult: they denied the damage claim with ZERO explanation. No investigation. No accountability. No decency. Just a flat “no” after destroying expensive hardware.
This courier didn’t just mishandle a parcel, they wiped their hands clean of responsibility and left me with a broken R15,000 component.
If you value your money, your time, or your sanity, do not trust this company with anything fragile or valuable. I certainly never will again.

I had an extremely frustrating…
I had an extremely frustrating experience with The Courier Guy.
My parcel was collected locally within Durban, yet booked under “Economy Regional” with delivery only on Tuesdays — information that was never communicated at booking. I only discovered this after chasing the delivery myself.
When I contacted the call centre, I received contradictory information from multiple agents:
One agent told me I could change the delivery address
Another said only email support could do it
Another transferred me mid-call with no explanation.
A final agent took my new address with no verification and no confirmation, clearly just trying to end the call
At no point was there ownership, proper communication, or a clear resolution. Calls were dropped, I was passed around, and I had to repeatedly explain the same issue. The parcel was also routed to a hub over an hour away, making self-collection impractical for someone who works full-time.
The parcel was originally about 20 minutes away from me and due to work I couldn't pick it up on the day or ordering. I used the courier service not expecting that it would be routed an hour away from where I live and that I would sit in the warehouse for a full week.
I paid for a courier service because the item was needed urgently. If I had been informed upfront that a local delivery could take a week due to internal routing rules, I would never have used this service.
This was a complete waste of time, marked by poor communication, inconsistent support, and zero accountability. I will not be using The Courier Guy again.

Pudo Locker service was used to send a CD-Rom with critical software down via PMB to one of their lockers in Howick on the 22nd Dec 2025. On the 7th Jan 2026 I was advised that my parcel was missing in transit and they were cancelling the waybill and no longer going to bother searching for it. This is disgraceful, totally unprofessional and destroys any possible trust that anyone might have in their services.

Parcel arrived damaged (Waybill LL-KRGABB, value R760) and the damage claim was rejected. The response was to blame “insufficient packaging” and rely on terms and conditions, despite visible damage on delivery and confirmation the parcel left the depot in good order.

Pathetic service
The courier guy does not deserve one start. You pay a fee for overnight delivery and they still tell it will take 3 days. What don't they understand by overnight delivery. Why charge for a service you cannot deliver?
Frustrating experience with Courier Guy
I am expecting a parcel from a family member. Pin number and QR code did not open locker. Have had a few frustrating calls and poor responses and broken promises trying to get the parcel delivered to my home address. Today drivers arrived at my home to collect a parcel and not deliver one.
Rubbish courier company
Courier guy is the only courier company that i have an problem with!!!! There drivers are so unprofessional!! No telephone etiquette! Other companies drop your orders at your door! From the best in South Africa to the absolute worst, close your doors, we no longer care about you, your service is shit, expensive and you care zero for your customers and their packages.
Closed our 2 Corporate accounts today along with 2 personal accounts. Moved over to another courier service now and we are much happier with our levels of service and support.

I don’t think that I need to be specific here, because it’s all over Facebook, Hello Peter etc as to how their service levels have plummeted.
Needless to say, don’t use them, as there is a high likelihood of no, late, or damaged delivery.
Ignored requested service and unprofessional service
I requested an overnight delivery and I was told it’s overnight only to find out that’s it economy meaning that I service I requested was ignored (At Dundee courier guy). After that I tried to fix it the next business day and I was told I couldn’t do that even though the issue was on their side. My order is delayed by a week due to the holidays now. On the 24th I received a notification that the parcel was out for delivery only for it to turn back around and wait until the 29th to be out for delivery once again. I called the helpline on the 24th at around 4:30pm and they assured me that the package would arrive on time. A few minutes ago when the driver was on the way, they took my number from the parcel and sent a WhatsApp text message to ask if I’m available, that is very unprofessional behaviour. Our numbers are ment to be used to call us once the delivery has arrived, not to text us and tell us to go wait outside our house. Highly disappointed in courier guy services.
Their error - my problem!
These guys incorrectly scanned a shipment (a Christmas gift for my two boys), resulting in the package being sent from George to Johannesburg instead of to Herm****. The expected delivery date was 23 December, but I have now been told it will be between 29 and 31 December. No apologies offered or attempt to rectify their error, just tough luck for their poorly serviced customer. Will definitely never use this company again!
Useless
There is consistently a problem with Courier Guy, regardless of which service is used. This is not an isolated incident but a recurring pattern of failure.
Attempts to contact the local branch are pointless — calls are never answered. When topping up a PUDO account and arranging a shipment, the system regularly shows no record of the shipment upon logging in again. In multiple instances, funds that were successfully topped up simply disappear, leaving the account balance at zero with no explanation.
Customer support is equally disappointing. Agents appear ill-equipped to resolve basic issues and repeatedly transfer queries from one person to another without any resolution. Contacting support via WhatsApp is no better — responses take days, if they come at all, and are largely handled by an automated bot. When a human finally responds, the assistance provided is ineffective and fails to resolve the problem.
Overall, the service is unreliable, support is inefficient, and resolving even simple issues becomes a drawn-out and frustrating process. This level of inconsistency and poor customer support makes Courier Guy a waste of time for anyone who values reliability and accountability.
Parcel locker in faulty locker. Horrible customer service…
My parcel showed as delivered on their locker. They sent the pin and QR code. When I got to the locker, there was an issue and it said the pin and QR code didn't exist. I called them immediately and they said they would get someone to deliver to my address by 5pm on that day. It's been 4 days and I still don't have my parcel. I've called and was hung up on, the agents didn't know anything besides reconfirm that my parcel was with them in the locker. Finally got to the OM Malenko Kotza and he promised it would be delivered the next day, even sent a email confirming this. It was a lie, I just called again and was hung up on.
Great support when things weren't going smoothly.
Huge thanks to the Support team in helping make sure that my urgent delivery arrived in time for a special birthday. The package collection wasn't seamless with the pickup company, but the Courier Guy helpdesk and drivers turned what could have been an unfortunate delay into a well-timed success. Excellent call centre staff who understand the issue immediately and get on to sorting it effectively, are rare these days, particularly during Christmas crunch time. Thank you.
