Incompetent company
My Churchill policy was transferred to Sundays for renewal on 6 August. Renewal date came and went, no sign of a renewal. Emailed a complaint. Explanation, technical glitch, policy cancelled. Renewal eventually went through but at a higher price than the quote. Total incompetence and dishonesty. You couldn’t make it up

We’re sorry to hear that you were left feeling disappointed by the outcome of your claim. We completely understand that having a bicycle stolen is upsetting, and we appreciate that providing proof of purchase and a police incident number can understandably create the expectation that a claim will be covered.
When assessing a theft claim, however, we are required to consider not only evidence that the bicycle was owned and that a theft occurred, but also whether the security conditions applicable to the policy were met at the time of the incident.
In this instance, the bicycle had a D-lock fitted to the frame and an additional cable through the wheels, but it was not secured to an immovable object. Where a bicycle is stored in a garden or other outside area, the policy requires the bicycle to be secured through the main frame to an immovable object.
We appreciate that this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for. The decision was based on the specific circumstances of the incident and the security requirements of the policy, rather than on whether the theft itself or ownership of the bicycle could be established.
We’re genuinely sorry that we were unable to assist with your claim on this occasion, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. We fully appreciate how upsetting and frustrating it is to experience the loss of your bicycle, and we understand that receiving an outcome that differs from what you had hoped for can be particularly disappointing.
We would, however, like to provide some further clarity regarding the claims assessment process. Each claim is considered based on the individual circumstances surrounding the incident. As part of this process, our Claims Team may need to ask specific and detailed follow-up questions to establish exactly what occurred, including all conditions of how the bicycle was secured at the time of the theft.
While our intention is always to assist our policyholders wherever the terms of the policy allow us to do so, insurance cover is subject to specific security requirements and conditions. These requirements are in place to ensure that the level of risk presented remains within the parameters for which cover can be provided.
A bicycle being permanently stored overnight on a vehicle-mounted rack, situated in an open and publicly accessible driveway, does not comply with our security conditions for At Home security and storage. Unfortunately, this type of storage presents a significantly elevated risk of theft and does not satisfy the applicable security requirements of the policy.
We sincerely regret that we were unable to provide a more favourable outcome on this occasion, and we do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and concerns with us.
Should you have any additional information or context that you believe may be relevant to the circumstances of the claim, we would be happy to ensure that this is considered as part of our review.

The transaction was straightforward enough online and the price was the cheapest. However I had a concern regarding valuation. So called them. The question being in the event of a claim, would they pay the value of the model or since I have drastically upgraded most components would they pay its current value. Original value being £1600 current value being £2500. I was told that the payout value will be determined at the point of a claim. So you will not know how good the policy/ company are until you make a claim. My experience of making claims with insurers is that they appoint a claims assessor who will do everything possible to reduce the cost of a claim. Personally I think insurers should pay the value stated when taking out the policy. Hope I never have to find out.

Rather than committing to a fixed payout amount when a policy is taken out, we assess the replacement value at the time of a claim because bicycle models, components and retail prices naturally change over time. Some bikes increase in price, others are discontinued and replaced by newer models, and component values can also fluctuate. Our goal is always to ensure you're fairly compensated and placed back in the same position you were in immediately before the incident occurred.
We also always aim to provide an exact replacement wherever possible. If the same bicycle or component is no longer available, we will replace it with a like-for-like item that matches the original specification as closely as possible. We will never downgrade your bicycle or its components.
It's also important to remember that you're insuring the bicycle and its components—not simply a monetary value. This is why we encourage customers to insure their bicycle for its current replacement retail price (RRP), including any upgrades, and to review and update that value whenever significant changes are made. Doing so helps ensure you remain adequately insured and avoids the risk of being underinsured.
Our claims cost-saving measures are designed to keep insurance premiums affordable for all customers, not to reduce legitimate claim settlements. We believe it would be unfair and unethical to settle a valid claim for less than what is needed to replace your insured bicycle and its components with equivalent items, and that's not how we do business.
We sincerely hope you never need to make a claim, but if you ever do, our aim is to make the experience as fair, transparent and straightforward as possible.

James is brilliant
I received insurance cover for 30 days free when I got my bike from cycle to work. After my initial 30 days ended James at Sunday got in touch to go over some of my options. I was genuinely surprised at how affordable it all was. At the time I was in the middle of a house move and didn’t have time to make a decision about purchasing cover. James was super understanding of this and offered to send details via email and give me a ring back later on. I’ve had multiple insurance companies contact me about various things and I’ve never met anyone as understanding and professional as James. He never pushed me or made me feel uncomfortable, and gave me all the time I needed to make my decision. Thanks James and Sunda for their service! I’d recommend this insurance company to anyone looking for affordable bike insurance.

Nice service support
I had a good experience with this company so far.
Their fariffs are reasonable and their cover gives me piece of mind (they offer new-for-old if you’re the first owner!).
Also, their team is great, at least one of them 😅 I had a great experience with Crystal: when I had to renew my insurance they came up with a few options to help me do some savings and explained me simply the pros and cons, plus answering very quickly all my questions.

I needed to cancel my policy as am unable to ride a bike anymore for health reasons. I sent an email, as I hate holding on for customer service calls. They answered the next day and it was all sorted. Excellent and prompt service
