Add the following hidden fees before…
Add the following hidden fees before considering their "low" prices:
1. £300 admin, although admittedly this is on their website, but hard to find. Why not just include it in the price?
2. "£300 inspection and servicing fee" will be carried out over 8 days while you wait for it to be delivered for some reason.
3. "£500 mandatory 1 year warranty, because it's an EV" again include this in the price if it's mandatory.
And finally the car was so scratched and dented it should have been mentioned in the advert. The general staff attitude was negative too suggesting they know full well it's all con. Wasted trip.

Not an honest company
I brought a tesla model 3 from motors 4 u start of last month, I paid a deposit over the phone for the vehicle and was told would be ready for collection after 8 days. There was a few problems with the vehicle of which I could see on the photos on the auto trader ad, these were a battery issue and condensation in the rear light. After finally getting the go ahead to collect the car I booked in the train tickets. Bearing in mind I was 210 miles away from home I wanted a defects video showing me what was on the car before collecting. The video wasn’t clear but I could see that the car was fairly straight and no major defects on there. On the video I was also reassured that the rear light would be repaired and also the battery issue was rectified, I was then told nothing further about the car I dealt with Taj throughout all of this.
As far as I know it was all ready to collect so I made the journey down on the 10th of May. Insuring the car beforehand through my motor trade policy, I didn’t test drive the car and had a quick walk around of it. I realise the rear light hasn’t been repaired but was assured it was sorted just need to wait for the condensation to go, still to this day it hasn’t.
I then went into the office and paid for the car in full, then soon as all the paperwork was sorted I went to drive the vehicle away, soon as I got in the car I realised a crack in the windscreen, which I haven’t been told about at all throughout the purchase of the vehicle. I was obviously very annoyed that this was the situation as if I have known this before I wouldn’t of travelled so far and brought this one if I had to purchase another windscreen. The response from Taj was ‘it was filled in and barely noticeable before and it must have gotten worse’ I understand how this could possibly be the case but there is no reason to not be honest with me especially travelling so far. I was reassured that I would be compensated to rectify this issue. I have now been chasing Taj and the service manager since the 10th to rectify this issue and no result.
Also now I have a problem with the control arm on the car which has to also be replaced at my own cost. I see no point in buying from a car dealer if I am to be treated like this
I would do every due diligence you possibly can with these guys because they will have you over!!

5* SERVICE, LOTS OF CHOICE, EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a vehicle from Motor4U, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment I stepped into the dealership, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were genuinely interested in helping me find the right car.
The sales team at Motor4U is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. They took the time to understand my needs and preferences, offering valuable insights and advice without any pressure. I appreciated their transparency throughout the entire process, providing detailed information about each vehicle's history and condition.
The inventory at Motor4U is impressive, with a wide variety of cars to choose from, all in excellent condition. I found their pricing to be fair and competitive, and they were more than willing to work with me to find a financing option that suited my budget.
What stood out the most was the level of customer service. The team went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and confident in my purchase. They answered all my questions patiently and provided ongoing support even after the sale was completed.
Overall, my experience with Motor4U was exceptional. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a used car. Their commitment to quality, honesty, and customer satisfaction is truly commendable. Thank you, Motor4U, for making my car-buying experience smooth and enjoyable!

Don't do business with this Car Dealer
I wish I had checked out the reviews first.
Total waste of time.
I rung them about a car last week and was told the car was not at their forecourt yet and I was asked to call next week. Yesterday I checked online and the car was listed as sold, but they kept sending me texts to call them. Today I decided to go there because I only live 5ml away. I saw a car I liked and asked for a px quote. The offer was so ridiculously low and I was told that they don't deal with older cars. And when I pointed out that half of the cars on the forecourt were as old and older then mine, the man didn't know quite what to say. I left disappointed with their attitude.
Time wasters and con men.
On Motorway.com they out bid everyone for my car then showed up and gave me a price £2K less. Wasted my time.
Friendly but sadly dodgy
Friendly but sadly dodgy. Found a lovely range rover for sale here and placed a deposit. Ran a check on the car and despite the car being alledgedly sourced from a Land Rover main dealer, it came up as clocked. The mileage at mid point 2023 being lower than at midpoint 2022. I gave the company two weeks to investigate the discrepancy but alas no straighfoward explanation ever emerged. Instead I was told the online check I did was mistaken. I asked for my deposit to be returned as knowingly selling a clocked car is a crime. Money was returned. I wish them well but treat with extreme circumspection.
Elbows too sharp
They overbid at Motorway and then knock over 10% off when they turn up to inspect the car. Don't accept anything these people tell you
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!
I bought a Vauxhall Mokka from Motors4U on December 8th after seeing it advertised online.
After paying a deposit the garage carried out an MOT on the car and checked over a number of items. When I purchased the car a salesperson went through a list of checks that they had done, which wasn’t given to me in the paperwork. The garage offered a three month warranty as standard, so I paid extra to extend it to a year, as the garage is 45 miles from where I live and I was assured any repairs needed could be done at a local garage under that.
On December 20th, twelve days after I bought the car, a warning light came on in the car. I called the warranty company who advised me that I needed a mechanic to run a diagnostics test on it. On December 21st the mechanic looked under the bonnet, there was no coolant in the coolant tank. He ran the diagnostics and advised me that driving the car could cause more damage to it. So just before Christmas, when my work gets very busy from 24th to 25th, I had no car.
Motors4U said to return it to them for repair. They did not cover the £150 towing fee as they expected me to have breakdown insurance, which I did, but I didn’t have home start and my breakdown cover would only tow me ten miles.
When I picked it up on January 19th, I was assured that the coolant issue has been fixed, but then my car overheated just 8 days later! Once again, the coolant tank was completely empty.
I asked my local garage to check over the car and was given a quote for what needed doing, when I sent it to Motors4U they said that none of it was urgent and that they could do it cheaper.
The warranty company have paid for some ofissues needing repair, judging the rest to be “wear and tear” caused by less than thirty days use of the car by me.
I am now down at least £1300 (which is what they gave me for my old car), less than four months from buying the car, on tyres, suspension, screen wash tank/pipe and other problems that should have been fixed prior to sale.
Despite a really positive experience buying it at the showroom, I would not recommend this car dealer at all based on my experience.
Selling unroadworthy cars
Tried to sell me a vxr with tyre cords showing, head gasket gone, paint all over the boot, blow in the manifold and pouring out with oil so much the car had no oil in it. Drove 4 hours after the advert said only 1 problem none of what the actual issues are. Was prepared to let me drive off the forecourt with a young child in the car in a car which wasn’t fit for the road. Luckily we gave the car a good inspection before purchasing. Saleman did mention the risk of driving it back due to the turbo (which by the way isn’t the issue) but not that it’s illegal to drive on the road due to the tyres then when I arrived he told me he advised it being recovered. Never mentioned that when I told him I was driving it back all that way. Didn’t even offer to make it legal before we brought it. Absolute joke of a place. Wish I checked the reviews before I wasted a whole day.
Be aware of scams and STAY AWAY
Be aware of scams and STAY AWAY.
A few weeks ago, I purchased a BMW car from this company. I picked it up on a Saturday, and they insisted that I write a 5-star Google review right in front of them. In exchange, they offered 1 year of free roadside assistance. However, they stated that unless they witnessed the review being published, they would not provide the roadside assistance, which turned out to be a dubious, unregulated service, not overseen by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority.
By the next day, Sunday, fault messages began appearing on the dashboard, including alerts for "service is due," "engine oil is low," and "tyre pressure low." Despite assurances from the sales agent before the purchase that a full service and health check would be conducted, it appears they were not. They also falsely sold me a so-called 2-year warranty, claiming that BMW garages would accept it, which was later found to be untrue. Furthermore, despite my explicit requests, they continually misgendered me as "sir," displaying a level of transphobia that deeply upset me. Consequently, I filed a formal complaint and contacted them by phone.
Initially, the company director, Sheik Reaz Hassan, was apologetic and promised to address each issue raised in my complaint and to follow up with me. However, he suddenly ceased all communication as if no promises had been made. This deceit is alarming. I am currently preparing a legal case against these scammers in the County Court. Be aware and stay away.

Motor4u. Sunnybank Garage. Flimwell.…
On 18/10/2023 I purchased a Renault Traffic Sport from Motor4u at Sunnybank Garage, Flimwell. I intend to convert the van for camping use and wanted a smart van. I had been looking for the right van for some time so perhaps was not as analytical as I should have been. From the start the sales process was careless and casual. They lost the V5, did not provide all the right paperwork and emailed me the details of their financial complaints procedure. The address and phone number on this was two years out of date.
When I got the van home I found two issues with it. There was a dent which extended for about two feet on the angle between the roof and side panel. Also one of the sliding load doors did not fit flush with the bodywork and I could even get my fingers behind it in the top left corner.
I wrote to ask them what they would do about this. No response. A further letter [ to the wrong address] and emails. It took over a month to get any reply from them. They refused to do anything. The excuse was that because this was a van I should expect there to be bodywork issues with it. I paid over £17000 [including VAT] for the van. From the styling of the van it is obvious that it is intended for a much wider market than simply tradesmen. They are now ignoring me completely.
A secondary issue. I bought an extended warranty from them with AutoProtect. I think that there was an element of mis-selling in this process. Amongst other things they emailed me the paperwork and had ticked a box to say that the warranty had been discussed. This was not true.
The law states that a vehicle must not be faulty when purchased and must be as described. I was not told about these faults. The excuse given was that Motor4u "do not have time to inspect every vehicle thoroughly!!!!!". The law makes no distinction between cars and vans. There is no such thing as buyer beware when purchasing from a garage. I am considering legal action.
The van drives well and seems mechanically fine.
Approach a purchase from this company with extreme caution. The evidence is in my review and the other three recently published reviews.
Police & Trading Standards involved
Went to view a car with my dad. He paid £500 and was told there is a £199 admin fee which is non negotiable and would be added onto the total. We reluctantly agreed and I decided to delve further whilst waiting for the car to be prepared for sale. I found NO mention of this admin fee on their t&c, on their website, any of their auto trader listings or eBay listings. In fact, the listings state specifically there are no fee’s with this dealer. My dad received a call and it was arranged that we would collect the car 4 days later. Upon arrival we disputed that there is no mention of said admin fee and it actually states there are no fees to be paid. We were told “if you’re not happy with it then don’t buy the car” knowing that a non-refundable deposit was made. Payment was made & all documentation pertaining to the car was completed and we went outside to find it hard not been charged. The garage knew we had travelled to collect the car & they also knew for 10 days prior to collection that the car had sold!! Whilst we waited around for some more charge I decided to go on Google & left a review about the hidden fee pre-warning other potential customers. With that, they said to my dad he was not permitted to take the car anymore. Funny how they picked that email up momentarily but not the email I had sent asking for information on where they detail their admin fee earlier that week!!
We argued that legally the money had been paid and the car was in my name therefore they could not stop us which led to them taking the keys off us unless I removed the review. I explained that the review in itself was not bad and it was purely detailing this fee & the lack of charge on the car. I had 2 grown men arguing with me saying we agreed to the admin fee and should have just left the car if we didn’t want to pay it. I explained that seeing the fee on the invoice prompted me to investigate further and I’d emailed but not received a response. The argument continued back and forth and I emphasised that adding on a hidden fee was a scam to which caused even more hostility to me. I called the police and explained that we had paid for the car & documentation meant it was now legally my dads but they wouldn’t hand it over. Police tried to speak with the garage who refused to liaise however we eventually received a refund due to refusing to move off the premises (or shut up - a few potential customers could hear that I was getting very upset and clearly wasn’t the image that the garage want to give off even though all of the negative reviews online speak for themselves!!!!). Definitely avoid this garage. I wish my dad had done more research into their reviews. He just took for granted they were reputable due to the amount of stock they held and length of service. I have been horrified by some of their responses to customers negative reviews calling them liars, multiple people, so I think in a way this was a blessing in disguise as I doubt very much the purchase would have been smooth sailing judging by everyone else’s experience online.
Shocking - I would not recommend this company.
I wanted a small car for my kids. I chose a VW Polo 2011 which seemed to be in very good condition. I checked the vehicle online and there was no mention of any issues ( not a write off, not stolen etc). I checked the MOT history and whilst the latest MOT showed only a tyre advisory, there had been issues previously which should therefore have been resolved. I asked for a service history and if these issues had been resolved and was told that none had come in with the car but they had done a complete check of the car and every check point had come up green. I bought the car in good faith and advised that I would get the car checked with my local garage and come back to them if there were any issues. There were indeed MANY issues. There was clear evidence that the car had been in an accident front and rear, that the engine had been removed, there were issues with the suspension and an oil leak, and the air bag wasn't working ( which would have been an immediate MOT fail). I returned the car immediately. I left the car and the key at Motor4U and requested a full refund from the manager Mr Hassan. My experience during this discussion was not pleasant, and the next day, when I returned to ask for copies of the papers I had left, was nothing short of intimidating. I was shouted at and called a name by the manager. I was appalled. This was followed by emails and a recorded letter, and a request for mediation prior to court proceedings, all of which went unanswered, and finally, 5 weeks after I returned the car ( and just before we started court proceedings) my money was refunded. There was no communication at any point and the £90 I had spent on a spare key which had also requested, was not refunded. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Buyer beware
I bought an electric car online and travelled to Wadhurst to collect. I was assured that the car was "immaculate" and would be prepared to a high standard for collection. On arrival I noticed damage to the rear bumper which I was told that they had been aware of but was minimal and if they were to repair would cost a maximum of £200, I accepted so when I returned to Glasgow and a reputable bodyshop told me that the bumper alone would cost £600 plus labour, it was my mistake to accept the £200, but left with the choice of being stranded in Wadhurst after flying down or take the car I obviously choose to take the car. There was a lengthy delay because firstly they hadn't charged the car and secondly they produce the paperwork for the wrong car. When they finally did produce the correct paperwork it showed there was an advisory for the MOT, the first one they did failed because of a lights issue and an advisory for a nail in the rear tyre, I was again told this was repaired to a high standard, the salesman even went into detail about how it was done. Finally I drove back to Glasgow, I have since found out the nail had never been removed as my wife had to call recovery when the tyre went down, I had to replace the tyre as the inflation kit was used at a cost of £180, I have contacted Motor4u and although I paid an admin charge and told I had a warranty they said because of the time (less than 1 month) and the mileage, less than 700 miles they weren't prepared to do anything even though they admitted no repair had been done to the tyre. I'm really disappointed as the dealers knew of all these issues before I went to get the car and could have been resolved before I collected.
