Absolutely disgusted with this new Kenco smooth, I've drank this coffee for over 10 years, with this new recipe the taste have gone downhill and well the black sludge is just awful. I’m a migraine sufferer and off the old recipe I never had a migraine and after 1 day on this new recipe the migraines have started again. And the fact the they have taken 10g off a 200g jar and still charging the same price it disgusting. Whoever did the taste test on this coffee should be sacked they can’t have very good taste buds. Everyone should boycott this coffee until the old recipe is back. That fact they changed the product and not make the customer aware is a disgrace. Why change a product that works well, I won’t be buying this product again. Every customer should be refunded for this fake coffee. M&S classic is very close to Kenco smooth, time to go to M&S,

Although reducing the size of the jars without reducing the cost is disappointing, the quality and taste of Kenco Smooth is unpleasant, I haven’t enjoyed a cup of coffee since opening the new jar. It tastes bitter and the residue on top of the coffee is off putting as well as being left with sludge at the bottom of the cup.
I will not be purchasing Kenco Smooth again, I will find a residue and sludge free alternative brand.

Really Rich - more like Really Rough!
What has happened to the Kenco Rich Roast coffee.
Have been buying it for years and of late have found that the recipe is totally yuk! This was a premium coffee brand and it now has a cheap, bitter aftertaste which is really unpleasant.
There is now a horrid sludge at the bottom of the cup, the coffee has horrible globules of in undissolved coffee and the smell of the coffee is horrid.
Please Kenco bring back our original Rich Roast. I will be looking to buy a different coffee brand as this is undrinkable.

Drank kenco for years. Really enjoy. Recently purchased new shaped jar and taste was awful then had refill pack which was lovely. Must be old recipe. Now all refills are new recipe and I don't like taste. I will be looking for new coffee to buy. Just A shame everythings about profit and not customers experience
Price up quality down. Sounds like recipe to a disaster.

We thought the milk was off. We wondered if the kettle needed de-scaling. But no – it was the revolting new recipe! What a disgraceful let-down. After drinking Kenco Rich daily for 30+ years, we can’t understand how they could have ruined such a great product. Who on earth did the taste testing – it is completely disgusting and undrinkable. As others have said, it also leaves a slimy brown residue in the mug. Very sorry to say that after all these years we will never buy Kenco again, unless they quickly correct this massively stupid decision.

Absolutely hate the change, it was my favourite coffee and as a family we were consuming a few jars a month.
Now we won't be buying it.
People should start taking it back to the shops.

I have been drinking Kenco for years and this new recipe taste absolutely lovely... that is if you like drinking muddy bitter puddle water... when they see there sales plummet someone will be looking for a new job... bad move I will never trust kenco again pure disgusting... tesco gold coffee not brilliant but would love to know any alternatives

Whatever you did to it, it's disgusting.
It tastes very cheap.

The new jars of kenco rich I can cope with the shrinking jar, but not the new recipe it tastes bitter and strong and leaves a horrible black sediment at the bottom of the mug,not as nice as the old recipe please change it back ive used it for over twenty years but won't buy anymore until you go back to the old recipe

What has happened to Kenco coffee ?
We always buy Kenco Blue Rich but horrible sediment at the bottom of the cup. Sadly will be changing brand.

Taste is very Bland also residue in bottom of mug not very impressed as before change no complaints

The new ingredients have made the coffee disgusting. It gets an horrible sediment in the bottom which makes the last part of your drink un-drinkable. They've lost my custom now.
I phoned Kenco, i was on hold for over 12 minutes. As soon as I mentioned the recipe changes, they put the phone down.
Everyone needs to take their coffee back for a refund so they get returned.

Been drinking this for 20 plus years. No longer, rip-off sizing with eco virtue signalling. Disgusting, tasteless slop with an ersatz sludge finish - think Mellow Birds with acorns. They must think we are idiots. Bye Bye Kenco.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent change to Kenco Smooth. I have been a loyal customer and drank Kenco Smooth every single day for the past 30 years, but the current jar is completely undrinkable.The new formulation does not dissolve properly. It leaves a thick, gritty, muddy sludge at the bottom of my mug, and the coffee looks murky and cloudy instead of clear. On top of the awful texture, the smooth flavour I loved for three decades is gone, replaced by a harsh, bitter taste.As a customer of 30 years, I feel incredibly let down by this drop in quality. I cannot finish this jar and will unfortunately have to switch brands. Regards Vincent

Came here to complain about the new recipe! What on earth have you done kendo? IT IS DISGUSTING! I’ve been buying your Red Kenco Smooth for years, and now I will have to look for another brand. Not only have you ruined the recipe but also you’ve reduced the size of the jar whilst putting the price up.
Coffee is now gritty and leaves a sludge at the bottom of the mug.
I really hope kenco see all these reviews about this change and revert it, they will need to do it quick though or I’ll be settled with a new brand.

Absolutely awful we have always bought the blue top encourage coffee was delicious I don't know what they have done but it tastes vile with a dark residue at the bottom the jar is a lot smaller yet you are charging the same price trying to fool us also with a red top on instead of a blue top you are fooling nobody whoever the decision was to change it needs to be fired and give us back our coffee we once enjoyed are we will have to change our coffee altogether

You have heard the old saying "if it's not broke then don't try to fix it". I for one will not be buying kenco rich again until they revert back to it's original recipe.

This new coffee is awful, there's no other word to describe it. I won't be buying kenco again 😝😡.19

I have just purchased Kenco's new jar of its Coffee.
I wish to complain about the "new recipe" for this coffee. The new blend tastes significantly more bitter and weaker compared to the previous smooth and rich flavour and there is a disgusting sediment left in the bottom of the cup. Your once delicious and tasty coffee that I've enjoyed for years is now on the same level as other cheap supermarket alternatives. I shall no longer be purchasing your now yucky coffee.

I am very disappointed with the new recipe for Kenco coffee with the blue lid. The coffee now stains the cup, and the taste is noticeably different from the previous recipe.

I have always enjoyed Kenco coffee, but unfortunately, I will no longer be purchasing it because of this change.

I would strongly recommend bringing back the original recipe, as I believe it was much better. If the new recipe continues, I feel it would be better to stop making this version altogether
