My computer arrived in very good good condition being very well packed and wrapped. The PC itself was as expected from ACT, in very good condition with very minimal signs of wear and tear. Up to this point in time, it is performing very well with a couple of small glitches that do not affect its performance. It is a complelely different and much improved PC to my previous model. This is the second PC I have opted to buy from ACT and in the future if I have to, would have no problems purchasing from them again. I like dealing locally whenever possible and ACT fits the bill for me. Laptop did not work on arrival. Screen flickers so much it is unusable. Put in warranty claim and no reply within 24hrs. Had to follow up myself over the phone. Returned already but no refund. These guys are awful. Don't give them your business

Bought my first thinkpad from these guys, back panel was barely screwed on and the cooling fan contacted the body making a buzzing noise. Sent it back and upgraded to a T14s, they then shipped a computer with faulty shift keys. Thought it was a programming problem, got it checked out by a 3rd party and they said send it back. Sent it back and am needing to chase them down for updates. Been 2 weeks and have been told it will be 2 weeks more until it “should” be shipped.

UPDATED: took multiple days to respond. Have tried to send me the wrong replacement laptop to the wrong address. Have called them multiple times during opening hours with no pickup.

Ordered HP Elitebook G8 I7_1185G7 16gb 512gb SSD on a deal for $250.

I must say the machine arrived in A++ condition. No scratches, no marks. Battery cycles sitting at 54.

As mentioned when sold it is B grade and for me the small marks are very exceptable. The keyboard and screen are great,one sticky key only. Packaging and delivery was great also. For the price can't go wrong.

Tbh I was a bit frustrated at first, when I couldn't log in to it, because the last owner had not removed himself from the computer...... but you rectified that, and now ,I am enjoying turning it into my home computer, with the help of AI

My new laptop (A Latitude 5430, i7 1265U, 1x 16GB DDR4 @ 3200, 256GB PCIe G.4 NVMe) was available for collection within 24 hours of order. Opening up the computer I found it to be professionally clean. The new M.2 NVMe (storage device) had a well applied thermal pad and the SSD itself was demonstrated to be brand new by the S.M.A.R.T protocol.

The fact my new computer is able to maintain stability under prolonged load is re-assuring for a second-hand machine. Configuring in the UEFI & Operating System to prioritise performance over cooling, the system is able to manage multitasking office applications, web browsers & 3+ busy virtual machines on an additional 1080p & a 1440p monitor all at the same time without stability issues or noticeable performance problems. Very nice. (I've replaced Windows with Rocky Linux 10. Windows whilst mainstream may be subject to greater overheads, Microsoft and their partners bloatware as well as other factors that thus compromise stability, performance and heat management)

Out of the box the laptop came configured for express charge in the UEFI. To extend the longevity of the battery, I changed this setting to charge at a standard rate and found calibration was required as sudden charge drops from 26% to 6% were occurring. Calibrating requires no tools or software. Just deplete the battery until the computer wont turn on any more, charge it to full capacity and repeat about 2 more times. My battery after this reports a consistent full charge capacity of 32.57Wh; 79% of it's original 41.01Wh reported design capacity.
While the option of a new battery would be a big value add, manufacturers often do not continue to produce replacement parts (if at all) for very long following device release. I personally don’t need to ask for anything more here. The laptop is energy efficient lasting a solid 4 hours with light office & web use or about an hour constantly going full tilt. With good charging practices, I can see this battery working well for another 3 or 4 years. I'm Very satisfied, just trying to paint a full picture.

As an IT student, I find the AU$675 price tag to be an exceptionally fair asking price for the amount of value my new machine is able to deliver especially in contrast to retail offerings.
