One star is too much. I used to eat upper crust baguettes when I was younger and loved them. I recently brought one and I was so disappointed. Firstly too expensive. Secondly it had a cheap
tasting mayonnaise inside which it didn’t used to have. Thirdly the cheese couldn’t have been any thinner. Lastly the baguette wasn’t fresh - it was dry and stale tasting. I will never buy from there again. Such a waste of money and such a shame it has gone so down hill.

Shocking and disrespectful service at Upper Crust T2 Manchester Airport Airside. I asked for halal or vegetarian options, which were refused, and instead I was given pork by Staff called Ali after clearly saying no. The staff member was rude and dismissive and said he would decide what to give me.
The staff member serving me, identified as Ali, behaved in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. When I politely asked for halal food, I was told that I would not be allowed to choose and that “they will decide what to give.”❌️❌️❌️❌️
I clearly requested alternatives such as cheese and tomato or a tuna melt panini, as I do not consume pork for religious reasons.
Despite this, I was given a sausage bap containing pork, even after I clearly refused it. This was done in front of other customers, which made the situation humiliating and deeply disrespectful.
I want to ask a serious question: who gave the staff member the authority to ignore a customer’s clear religious request and still provide pork?
As a Muslim, this is not acceptable under any circumstance. It is not simply poor service — it is a lack of respect for religious belief and personal boundaries.
I did not raise my voice, I did not use any bad language, and I remained calm and respectful throughout. Therefore, I find the treatment I received completely unjustified and unacceptable.

My experience with Upper Crust was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
I raised a clear and legitimate concern regarding staff behaviour and the lack of respect shown towards my dietary and religious requirements. Instead of addressing the issue properly, I received a defensive and dismissive response. The company chose to rely on CCTV and internal accounts to claim there was “no evidence,” while completely ignoring my experience as a customer.
There was no apology, no accountability, and no genuine attempt to understand or resolve the concern. Repeating that there is “no evidence” does not address the issue—it simply avoids responsibility.
It is also worth noting that Upper Crust already has a high proportion of negative reviews on Trustpilot, with approximately 63% 1-star ratings and only 25% 5-star ratings. This clearly suggests that this is not an isolated case, but part of a wider pattern of poor service and customer treatment.
This issue goes beyond product availability. It is about the conduct of staff and the lack of basic respect shown when clear requirements—particularly those linked to religious considerations—are communicated. This was not acknowledged at all in the response I received.
While the company claims this behaviour does not reflect its standards, the response itself proves otherwise. It prioritises policy and staff protection over accountability and customer care, which is unacceptable.
I am particularly concerned that the company’s position may be perceived as disregarding customers’ religious sensitivities. This is a serious matter and should not be treated so casually.
If Upper Crust is unable or unwilling to respect such requirements, then this should be clearly stated so customers can make informed decisions.
Overall, this was handled in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. The response was completely unsatisfactory and failed to resolve anything.
Poor value for money- Greggs better quality

In reality, people do have a choice now, and unfortunately the offer here just doesn’t compete. The value for money is poor, and some of the options looked unappetising by that time of day.
If Uppercrust truly lived up to its brand, I’m sure it would attract far more repeat customers. As it stands, it feels like a place people try once or twice, then avoid. It’s hard not to think a lot of business is being lost because of this.

Upper crust baguettes i got a breakfast baguette it was absolutely disgusting after all my years of traveling I've never been served such CRAP it was flat cold it looked like had a quick 10 second dip in the pan the egg hardly done the sausage was raw bacon well I don't need say anything more this and a ham and cheese rubbish sandwich two Luke warm lattes just short of £39 never again!

I feel sorry for the staff who have a manager like that
The man who served me at Leicester Station Upper Crust was lovely and efficient, but his manager was rude and obnoxious. He should not speak to his members of staff like that, and if he’s like that when they’re public facing I dread to think how he behaves in private. Do not recommend; it was very uncomfortable.

I use the Uppercrust site between platforms 1 and 2 in Cardiff Central I was served by Natasha and Raj. Both polite and very nice and helpful.
Good service, terrible food
The lady behind the counter was nice and helpful. The coffee was watery and went in the bin. The grilled sausage baguette was cold and semi-raw. I took it home for the chickens.

1 star is 1 too many! The baguette has barely any filling. Absolutely disgusting!!! The Ham and Cheese baguette only had 1 slice of cheese and 1 of ham!!! You have no shame

Totally worst and most awful situation I faced with Staff, I have never met such a waiter who is rude. I visited there with my husband 2 weeks ago, service was awful, our requests of bringing fan as we were sitting outside was totally ignored, even though they promised to bring and make us comfortable. When we finished eating and asked for the bill, the waiter brought the card machine angrily and when he charged he angrily left our table without at least asking "was everything good?" which supposed to be appropriate manner of these types of dining. You know guys, NEVER VISIT UPPER CRUST, especially Gulshan Branch

Paid £23 for 2 TINY sausage “baguettes” and 2 bottles of water and a small coffee. They wasn’t even a full baguette literally cut in half with one and a half sausages I repeat ONE AND A HALF sausages inside for nearly £8 each!!! Sickening how they can charge this.

Friendly service and a helpful member of staff at upper crust Leicester train station whilst travelling with my disabled child, nothing was too much trouble for Kirsty she was very polite and let me know of any dairy in the products as my daughter has an allergy , even though there was a Que forming I wasn’t rushed like I am in other places ,
