Ihave already left a review and shockingly it got worse.
My last review was Mar 2, 2026 (which despite their reply they weren’t interested in)
Now we need a new tyre which we booked in for but the garage couldn’t do because we has no wheel nut removal key, my husband asked about this when we got the car and was told we don’t need one!
So back to Toomey Citroen AGAIN to be told, basically, hard luck!! So as far as they’re concerned it’s fine to sell us a car without the correct equipment!!
It costs an extra £100 for the garage to take the wheel off without the key!

Update 14/8/26

Today I was contacted by the Service Manager was told that the request for payment had been incorrectly issued and a full refund of the Flush and Replacement has agreed.
I am happy to accept this and an apology and I have therefore updated this review and the above rating.

I am very pleased as all previous services that have been carried out have been 1st class experiences.

I took my Kona Electric to have the coolant system drained, flushed and replaced. I was not told at any time that this was chargeable. I was charges £485.
My Kona was serviced and MoT'd at the end of January and I had mentioned this problem at the time (Refill Coolant warning light came on intermittently) and was told that nothing could be done unless I could show them a photo of the warning light.
Later this year, around May the Kona was subject to a Recall to update the Engine Management System and I again raised this. The mechanics could find no fault although when I went to drive away the warning came up and stayed up. Jamie came out and took a photo and said they would arrange for the car to sorted. This was arranged for July and I presented the car. As I said, there was no mention that I would need to pay for thismuntil I arrived to collect the car. I was told I needed to pay as the warranty had expired in April. I spoke to the Service Manager who promised to take the matter up with Hyundai UK and get back to me. So far (mid August) I have heard nothing.
Going back through my service records I discovered that this coolant should have been replace during the service of February 2025 (4 year service costing £750).
I wrote to Toomey and copied Hyundai UK last Sunday but still have had no contact.
This is very poor service.

Sarah in the front desk was very welcoming, kind and professional at the same time. Servicing was on time. Overall an excellent experience.

From the moment I sat down at the service desk reception I was treated as a valued customer. Jamie was very polite and respectful listening to my queries and questions and answering without hesitation or flannel but with confidence and assurance. Once my car was booked in I was offered a refreshment while I waited for my lift home. The whole experience was a pleasure today having my car serviced MOT and a few updates and a car wash in record time. Thank you again Jamie.

I came in to have my car serviced today. Jamie who was the worker who helped me was very warm in his approach and explained things to me. Made me feel at ease. Took time to explain things to me. He went away to the sales team and made enquiries for me when I had asked for clarity on an issue. Very helpful and good customer service approach.

Jamie is a really nice person. He is so helpful, really friendly and does everything he possibly can to help and solve any problems. While there we actually have a great laugh together too. I do recommend him to others.

Sarah was great from the moment we dropped the car off, friendly and welcoming. There was a delay due to the part required arriving damaged but Sarah made sure to let us know as soon as possible, providing options that would suit us best. Great service from MG Southend all round.

Having made a previous visit when I couldn't find what I was looking for I was contacted by Richard Pemberton. He suggested that I should come up and view some of the stock they had. I made a return visit on Friday and was greeted by Ben Hughes who showed me around one of the type of vehicles that I am interested in, I found him to be very knowledgeable and explained the features of the car. I look forward to a return visit in the very near future, thanks to both of you for your assistance. I shall be returning 🙂

Great customer service from Marcel Rogers at Basildon. My daughter had an intermittent scraping noise from a wheel and couldn’t get it looked by service for a week (which is not so good) but Marcel in sales sorted it out for her within an hour. Brilliant
