I'm a first time customer, and I'd read a couple of reviews that mentioned being let down by couriers. I was therefore a little worried when I didn't receive a DHL notification confirming the delivery slot.

I contacted The Dorset Meat Co. and they couldn't have been more helpful. The lady who assisted me was friendly, understanding and she determinedly set about getting the issue resolved. She reassured me that my order would be located and delivered, and if that wasn't possible, it would be replaced. She then called me to keep me updated.

Her tenacity paid off, and between her and DHL, the order was located and delivered.

The meat and cheese were perfectly packaged, and still refrigerator cold.

I'm now going to settle down with some splendid cheese, some absolutely delicious looking salami and a glass of nice red. A good result!

My experience with Dorset meats have been positive and pleasurable. I purchased a selection of meats, including fish, burgers, lamb shank, oxtail and chicken livers for my purrrfectlyposh kittens. It was all delicious. The Lemon Sole was fresh and delicious and my family was pleasantly surprised by the Lamb Bacon that I ended up sharing the link with my daughters. I am about purchase my 3rd box now and can say, they're the truth.

I want to let you know that I got round to cooking my packer beef brisket this weekend just gone.

A slow defrost and a generous application of cracked pepper, Malden sea salt and smoked sweet paprika was followed by a long and slow cook on the bbq for about 7 hours with oak, beech and sweet chestnut wood smoke.

The brisket was then draped in streaky bacon, wrapped in butchers paper and transferred to the oven for another 4 hours to complete its cooking to 95C.

The brisket was left to rest for 3 hours in a meat swaddle pouch before being served with braised red cabbage and potato kugel with a rather nice Rioja.

I was a little anxious has to how it would turn out because it had much less of a fat covering than briskets that I have cooked before. Hence bacon drapes.

I needn’t have worried. My father in law said it was the best beef he has tasted and gave me a handshake. This morning he asked for leftovers to take home and enjoy cold on rye bread.

I could have just told you that I was really pleased with the packer, but instead wanted to tell you this story.

Amazing meats and fish taste fantastic, the meat pies are so full of meat they were so lovely , the meat is so tender worth every penny

We decided to reduce our meat consumption but to buy good quality and ‘kinder’ meat.
We are on our third box now and wish we had done it much sooner. Can honestly say we are pleased with everything we’ve received so far. Easy to order, good packaging and delivery. Very happy customer.

Miscommunication don't try to tell them there is a problem. My husband has kidney disease and needs to avoid nitrites and nitrates in bacon .we regularly buy unsmoked dry cure from m and s and naked bacon. We placed our first order and were sent smoked bacon paragraph one on their website says dry cure and paragraph 2 says smoked drycure. Silly me I was certain I ordered unsmoked. I called their helpline and from the outset the woman kept returning me to that's what you ordered look at the website read the whole page.She kept insisting all dry cure nitrites free is smoked NOT TRUE .Not a word of understanding or apology when we reached deadlock another woman called me and was immediately aggressive saying we or rather my wife upset her colleague and said she would refund the bacon but please don't order from us again. I am sure a response will be posted. However with such an attitude when there is a problem my advice would be AVOID there after service is appalling.

A wonderful selection of meat for a fabulous price. From free range chicken to belly pork along with faggots and beef brisket. All local reared with a fork to plate ethics at the heart. Gorgeous stock and deli items to compliment these wonderful Dorest delights. I will buy again.

Great quality meat. I would like more info on how to recycle the packaging

I recently ordered the Wild Venison Meat Box priced at £67.95. Unfortunately, when it arrived, all of it had completely defrosted, and the advice given on the label is that it can't be refrozen. This means that you have to cook diced venison, venison mince, a venison joint, and one pack each of sausages, burgers and haunch steaks within a day of them being delivered to either eat straight away or refreeze. I accept that it says on the storage section of the website that defrosted meat is not suitable for refreezing, but the website does not make it clear that this meat will arrive defrosted.
I have had frozen meat orders from other suppliers that have always arrived still frozen ready for me to place in my freezer, so I believe that the fully recyclable chilled liner and ice packs used are not designed to keep frozen meat from thawing out.
I contacted Dorset Meats on delivery of my order, and although they stated that storage instructions were available on the website, they didn't respond to the issue of the meat arriving in a defrosted state.
I would therefore advise anyone only to order this box if you are prepared to spend hours in the kitchen cooking it on it's arrival!

I have been using Dorset Meat for over 6 months now and every item I've purchased has been fantastic quality. Everyone I've cooked for has continued to comment on the food long after the get together.

The website is very simple to use and being able to schedule your deliveries means I can really plan my social cooking well. As soon as the Christmas ordering became available, I've booked and paid for the items I want and need and scheduled the delivery that works for me; so it has really taken the stress out of that side of Christmas.

The greatest benefit for me is knowing that I am doing my bit for the food producers and animals. The products are at a higher price than I was used to paying but honestly there is no going back to supermarket meat and takeaways...

If you ever need to speak to the team for any reason they are extremely helpful and deal efficiently with any requests.

I do cooking classes at River Cottage every so often and they are always pushing the importance of finding an ethical meat supplier, being that themselves, so I am really pleased that I found Dorset Meat Co on line and that I'm doing my bit as well as eating fantastic food..

Always great service and great meat. I've been buying frequently from Dorset meat company for the past year and never had an issue.

I ordered a quantity of meat ... first time order from this company, who advise that they are the best UK online butcher. I paid for express delivery on a set date.
DHL failed to supply any tracking but gave a window on when my order should arrive. It didn't. Dorset Meat said the delivery was delayed DHL said they could not find my address. My security cameras said no one came near the house.Dorset Meat said there must have been an accident on the road. DHL wanted to arrange a different delivery to a house they could not find in the first instance.
Dorset Meat could not care less. We will get it arranged for another day. After much discussion they agreed to offer a full refund. I will not be using them again.

I've been a customer of The Dorset Meat Company for a number of years, because I wanted to start eating Grass Fed Meat. I found them after a search on line, and after my very first order arrived, I've never shopped anywhere else. The quality of their products, from the Lean Beef Steak mince, to the beautifully flavoured Dorset Blue Vinny & Fig Salami is amazing. I would, and do recommend them to anyone who takes an interest in what they put in their body. They have a life long customer in me.

second to none for quality of meat, in this day and age you really do get what you pay for.
Place an order, it maybe a little more expensive than what you're used to paying, but you'll see why when you open the box, cook and taste these products.
Worth every penny.

Very happy with service and products. I used another online company for meat until recently. After some issues, I looked for a different supplier and after a few orders where I’ve tested a range of meat, I’m very happy. The food is superbly packed and even in warmer weather, arrives totally chilled. Beef, chicken, pork from economy cuts to premium joints are quality. I’m not looking for another online supplier and heartily recommend The Dorset Meat company. Helpful friendly customer service too. My Christmas order is already in.
