The engineer was excellent, friendly and helpful. He was especially helpful for me who had spent hours and hours trying to sort out the portable wi fi boiler control! He showed me a really easy way to use it, so now can stop unnecessary heating. Thank you

Rang this company at 1048 am. Problem solved by 1445. Outstanding. Engineer arrived, took the boiler apart and within minutes had identified the problem. The problem required a gas engineer to sort out a problem on the gas meter. The engineer phoned the gas company and with 45 mins a gas engineer was on scene. New piece fitted in not easy circumstances, a good explanation of what was wrong. Heating and hot water working. Absolutely brilliant. we cannot than you enough.

Why dont the guys that come never clean up after themselves.. left my son at home waiting in for them..came home today had to put pictures back up on the wall I’ve had to hoover .. left window wide open luckily my cat never jumped out to his death.. I mean they can’t even shut a cupboard door … out of order!

had my annual gas inspection and the guy that does it was excellent. he checked everything a real professional i definitely recommend them.

Another year and nothings improved. I called Smith & Byford 6 days ago on behalf of my disabled elderly mother, to book an appointment for them to replace the combi boiler external control console which malfunctions every few years. The "engineer" arrived just to tell me what I had already reported and he didn't carry the replacement part with him. So, I had to book another day off from work and by midday on the 2nd day, Smith & Byford called to tell me they had to cancel the appointment as the "engineer" was off sick and asked me to make a 3rd appointment despite they being another "engineer" in the area and it wouldn't have taken more then 5 minutes to replace the unit. This company is the worst of the worst in this field. So far, I've lost 4 days to these lazy people over a period of 3 years for either cancelling appointments or taking s photo of the front door and throwing a missed call card out out and not actually knocking? Obviously because they want to finish earl. Avoid Smith & Byford at all costs!

Regular gas safety check perfect service over many years. Also had an emergency repair needed a few months ago where no hot water or heating due to a failed small component fixed in a few days and extremely satisfied.

Last time the engineer refused to carry out the appointment and rudely said "i cant work like this !!" without stating why
Rebooked and no one turned up after i waited in all afternoon, after battling with the chatbot they said that they failed to gain access
So they lie as well !!

The workmen themselves were excellent—professional, courteous, and did a great job. Unfortunately, the administrative side lets them down. I waited over 10 minutes for my call to be answered, and despite clearly stating I was unavailable on Mondays, I was initially given a Monday appointment. I then had to call back and wait again to rearrange it. There was also no confirmation message for the second appointment, which added to the frustration.
A young guy came to do a yearly gas safe check, I didn’t ask his name. He was cheerful, polite, a tidy worker, respectful and knowledgeable when I asked some related questions.
