Honestly can't give this hotel enough stars!
Mostafa Othman contacted us via WhatsApp the day before out arrival with all of the necessary info. He met us at check in and ensured our room was strategically placed so it was easily accessible with our 2 kids. Ot was outside the aqua park and near the kids club. He would check in with us daily to ensure we were satisfied and if any concerns came up and we reported it (AC wasn't working) once the technicians had been (within 5 minutes) to resolve it, he would come and ensure it was all up to standard.
The hotel is vast but once you find your bearings it is ok. There are a variety of restaurants and all the staff are so polite and friendly. There is a bus that goes around the hotel, cute little family bikes or if you feel lazy, you can call a golf cart to your door.
The aqua park is open from 11-1pm and then again from 3-5pm. There are also Motor boats and pedal swans during these times. There are lots of pools ( generally one behind every room that can be shared between approx 12 rooms) but always quiet. There is also portofino hotel next door and you an access everything there as well. There are lifeguards all day at each pool so very safe. Waiters are always around to offer you drinks.
Housekeeping staff are all very friendly and always smiling.
There are shops on site but I founds them pricey (£10 for a bucket and spade) so maybe pack your own and your own snorkeling gear.
There is a dive centre on site where you can hire it from for £5 a day per person but we would snorkel almost every day so was pricey. They also offer excursions. We chosen to snorkel with turtles. I do feel they oversold and underdelivered but the guide was really nice and tried his best to make sure my kids (4 and 6) had the opportunity but taking them out onto the water and ensuring their safety.
If you are looking for a resort where you just stay this is perfect. But if you want to venture out, there is nowhere to go.
This is the second pickalbatros I have stayed at and It is perfect for families with kids.
It's a beautiful place and spotlessly clean
It's a beautiful place. The staff, including Aminia, our cleaner, Massi, our waiter, and Fatima in the spa, were brilliant. There was nothing they would not do for us.
We holidayed here in Agadir last year and were so impressed that we returned again in 2025. We will be booking another cheeky week next May. Thank you all
A vacation ruined – poor management, not worthy of a 5-star hotel
We stayed at the Pickalbatros Golf Resort in Marrakech, and what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday quickly turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience.
From the second half of our stay, the hotel prioritized a medical congress over the wellbeing of its regular guests. Half of the facilities were privatized: one of the main pools was closed without warning, the lunch restaurant was made inaccessible, and even the sunbeds and parasols were reserved for the congress attendees. As a result, we were all crammed into a single pool area, fighting for space and basic comfort. This is absolutely unacceptable in what claims to be a luxury resort.
We had booked two rooms and encountered serious maintenance issues in both. One had a flooded bathroom, a broken bidet spray, and lights that turned on randomly at night – I had to unplug them to get some sleep. The second room had persistent sewage smells and also required technical intervention for the plumbing and leaking bidet. We had to call maintenance several times. If this is what they call a “room upgrade,” I can’t imagine what a standard room must be like.
The management’s only response was to offer a last-minute spa voucher – completely useless when we were already leaving. No real apology, no financial compensation, and a clear lack of professionalism.
We are still in contact with other guests who experienced the same treatment. It’s clear that the hotel puts private events before the satisfaction of paying vacationers. I strongly advise against staying at this resort – there is nothing 5-star about the service or the guest experience.
Disappointing Experience
Disappointing Experience – Not Suitable for Families with Special Needs
We’re currently staying at Pickalbatros Neverland Aqua Park in Hurghada and unfortunately, our experience has been far from what we expected. Before flying out, we were warned by someone who had visited before: “Make sure they don’t put you in the 5000 section – it’s too far from everything.” And sure enough, upon check-in, the receptionist told us we were assigned to the 5000 section.
We immediately expressed our concerns and were promised a room change the next morning. That “morning” never came – we’ve followed up several times, but nothing has been done, and we’re still stuck in the same far-off section.
The resort is enormous, and getting around is a huge challenge. The restaurants are nearly a 30-minute walk away from our rooms. There’s a free bus, but it only comes every 30 minutes waiting for it under 38 degree heat is a challenge on its own, and even then, it’s unreliable and often overcrowded. To make things worse, we have a disabled child in our group of 20, and moving him around this massive, poorly connected resort is exhausting and frustrating.
WiFi barely works across the resort, making it hard to stay connected or even contact reception through their apps. The food quality is below average and doesn’t change – every day it’s the same repetitive, uninspired options.
Overall, this resort might appeal to some for its size and slides, but it’s absolutely not suitable for families with young children, elderly members, or anyone with mobility issues. We still have 3 days left before flying back on the 27th May, and we’re honestly counting down the hours.
We wouldn’t return, and we wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
WORST RESORT EVER
WORST RESORT EVER, TO AVOID!!!
Food:
A real disaster, we were sick & we went to the emergency for food poisoning.
They tell you that got 11 restaurants but they serve the same thing at all restaurant every day with tasteless & very basic food
Price :
overpriced & not worthy at all.
They've charged us 6'350$ for 5 nights !
Kids club:
for over 4 yrs old only, and its a small room with painting only
Many of water slides and kids area were not functional.
Honestly, you can find a lot better elsewhere...
A ruined holiday !!
I would like to share my recent experience at Albatros Makadi Resort, which, unfortunately, turned into a disappointing ordeal.
At first glance, the hotel appears to have great potential. The layout, the impressive 16 pools, and the luxurious entrance hall create a promising first impression. However, I regret to say that this is not a 5-star resort by any standard.
We arrived at the hotel after 4 a.m.—well past our expected midnight arrival. There was no warm welcome; instead, we were immediately asked for our passports. When I politely requested some water or juice, the receptionist directed me to the bar downstairs. At that hour, after a long journey, it was incredibly disappointing not to be offered even a simple refreshment during check-in.
Staff shortages were evident throughout our stay. Whether at the reception, during breakfast, at the beach lunch area, or at the lounge bar, we constantly had to wait for service.
Our room was spacious, but comfort and amenities fell far short of expectations. The mattress and pillows were uncomfortably firm. The bathroom featured a plastic soap dispenser reminiscent of a budget hotel. The light above the makeup mirror didn’t work, toilet paper wasn’t refilled, and the tile work was subpar—with missing mortar in several areas. The toilet brush and bin were corroded and unhygienic. The tissue box was a basic supermarket pack instead of a fitting design. Moreover, there were no toiletries such as toothbrush, cotton pads, or cotton buds just soap and shampoos.
The sunbeds were basic, and many pools were too shallow or too cold for swimming. The quadricycles were a great idea in theory, but poorly executed—several were damaged, and we spent significant time trying to locate them due to staff misinformation.
The beach was another letdown. It was littered with jellyfish, debris, and rubbish. It is the hotel’s responsibility to keep the beach clean, as is done in destinations like the Maldives or Seychelles. Furthermore, beach staff were only occasionally available to take orders—far from the attentive service expected at a 5-star resort.
Regarding the food: I understand tastes vary, but the quality was simply not up to par.
Vegetables were over-grilled, and the Thai/Indian chicken was deep-fried and overly salty. The desserts across the board were flavorless, and on multiple occasions, I noticed half-eaten pastries in the buffet—an alarming hygiene issue that should be monitored by the F&B manager.
The spa experience was another major disappointment. I booked a two-hour treatment, but no one informed me the spa was under construction. I was allowed only 10 minutes each in the sauna and hammam. While the soap massage was excellent, the overall environment was chaotic, with construction noise and workers milling about. This completely ruined the relaxing atmosphere one expects in a spa.
The most distressing part of our stay occurred on the first day. After returning from the pool, I found our room locked with a letter instructing me to report to reception immediately. Still wet and wearing a sarong, I tried calling reception, but no one answered. I had to walk across the resort with my child in swimwear—a deeply uncomfortable and humiliating situation.
The issue turned out to be an administrative discrepancy: the hotel considered my child an adult due to a one-month difference in age, while most hotels would have classified them as a child. As a result, the hotel demanded over 90% more than the amount I had paid for the week. The handling of this situation was completely unacceptable—lacking transparency, sensitivity, and flexibility. Discussing such a matter in front of a child was both unprofessional and distressing.
To make matters worse, I was asked to return to reception every day—10 minutes away by bike—to follow up on the issue. This was extremely disruptive.
Despite losing two days due to flight schedules and using very few of the resort’s facilities, the hotel manager repeatedly pressured me for additional payment. On departure, I was even asked about missing beach towels—which in fact, were in our room, but pool staff could not give us any towel cards cause there were any left. The suggestion that I would try to steal plain towels, without any hotel logo, to fit into my 8kg cabin luggage was simply absurd and offensive.
Overall, the experience fell dramatically short of expectations. The lack of basic service, comfort, communication, and courtesy was shocking. I expected a 5-star resort experience and was instead met with disorganization, poor maintenance, and a lack of hospitality.
One of the Worst Hotel Experiences of My Life – Avoid at All Costs
I booked at Pickalbatros Aqua Blue Hurghada expecting a seamless stay from a supposedly reputable hotel. Instead, I was met with a string of unacceptable failures that reflect an institution entirely lacking in professionalism, integrity, and basic hospitality standards.
After enduring a 6-hour flight delay, I arrived at the hotel around 10:30 PM, only to be told that my room wasn’t ready — an appalling situation at any time, let alone that late at night. As part of my all-inclusive package, I went to have dinner while waiting — and even that was bland, disappointing, and well below average, not befitting a property of this supposed category.
At 11:45 PM, nearly an hour and a half later, I was finally taken to a room — only to find out that I had been relocated to a lower-tier sister property without any prior notice, consent, or explanation. This is not just poor service — it’s outright deception. I immediately rejected the arrangement and insisted on being given the room I had booked and paid for.
Their response was stunning: I was told they were fully booked, despite having confirmed my reservation in writing. They claimed they needed 15 minutes to “resolve the issue.” After another 45 minutes of waiting, it was now 1:20 AM and nothing had been sorted. Exhausted and furious, I demanded a full refund, which they processed with indifference and no apology, and I was forced to find a new hotel in the middle of the night.
I eventually checked into another property and managed to sleep at 3:00 AM, drained and disgusted. This was not just a bad experience — it was a complete breakdown of everything a hotel is supposed to provide: reliability, respect, and professionalism.
Pickalbatros Aqua Blue operates with blatant disregard for its guests. The staff were rude, dismissive, and unfit for any kind of guest-facing role. This property grossly misrepresents itself and should be avoided by anyone expecting even a minimum standard of service.
Do not stay here. You deserve better.
Albatros Sharm Resort by Pickalbatros

I stayed at the Pick Albatross Aqua Blue Hurgharda. We had a great holiday. Lots of pools and slides however the pools were quite cold and we went beginning of April. The food was ok but not much choice for children.
The animation team shows was very low budget. Lukas and The Joker were exceptional and great with the grandchildren and accompanied a group of us when we went clubbing and were great fun.
Bahaa Shawky was very friendly in the restaurant along with another but can’t remember his name but they were very attentive.
Mohamed Hussain was an outside waiter and he worked hard all day bringing us drinks.
Apartment was clean.

Pickalbatros Aqua Park - Egypt
The hotel certainly has some perks with the heated swimming pool being the main one. There is an array of slides and even a surf simulator. Some of the staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you, others clearly don’t want to be here.
Unfortunately I am baffled how this establishment has 5*. The food is mediocre and the same each day, their is no real service, most drinks your expected to get yourself and their is no bar menu.
The rooms look nothing like what we saw when we booked the hotel (we paid extra to upgrade our room) and I would also recommend requesting a room with sun in the evenings as ours is just shade by 11am which is not ideal for a march holiday.
It turns out we get access to the Aqua Blu opposite the aqua park but no one tells you this, you just need to figure it out.
The hotel overall is okay and we have had a good time but it is NOT a 5*.

Review
I can’t find the right words to express how disappointed and extremely disgusted we are with the treatment we received. The treatment we received as black people completely ruined our whole trip.
We were asked multiple times if they could see our all inclusive wrist bands whilst white families whose wrist bands was not visible didn’t get asked at all.
Every time we pointed this out to the staff their excuse was it’s apart of their policy.
Time and time again we saw other visitors walk in with no hassle at all, but when it came to us we were stopped and asked to see the wrist band. My husband walked to meet me outside the reception with my two kids to greet me as I came back from a excursion outside the hotel, and as we turned to walk back into reception the security stopped my husband and asked him to see his wrist band.
This happened multiple time in the hotel grounds like the arcade and bars.
The last straw was when we returned from a quick trip to senzo mall
My husband made a point of asking the security guard at the main entrance if we needed to sign out due to the treatment we have been receiving
Only to be stopped again on our return whilst white families reentered the ground with no issue.
My husband went make a complaint and spoke with the general manager (Islam) he got the head of security and had a meeting with my husband. The head of security sat there sniggering as my husband voiced the terrible treatment we were experiencing.
My husband also voiced to Islam that on the day we arrived we were second in the queue for check in
Behind a lovely white English family and in front of another white family.
We were told to take a seat while the first family checked in
And the family behind us received their all inclusive wrist bands before us.
Hence why my husband refused to leave reception without being shown our room.
The general manager didn’t care just offered to give us free late check out, (which by the way he didn’t do as by 12 o’clock we were locked out of the room). We have two beautiful black kids and for them to experience racism at such a young age, in a place that we spent alot of money to be in is very disappointing and infuriating.
To make matters worse when we were checking out we called for the transport to come to transfer us and our luggage to reception. We sat outside for over 30min waiting whilst multiple transport carts drove past us and picked up other guests. We ended up having to load all our luggage ourselves unto the hotel bus and take that to the reception. If it wasn’t for the kind driver we would have been late for our coach transfer to the airport.
We would have given this hotel a 5* originally because our kids loved all the fun things they were able to do in the hotel grounds. And some of the staff especially in the soprano restaurant were kind and very helpful. The entertainment was top tier and the animation team made it so magical for my kids. But unfortunately the blatant racism which in turn made us feel lesser than other white guest ruined our interior experience. We gave them chance after chance but it was constant. It was no longer a coincidence but a problem a racism problem.
