Fired all their writers and replaced them with AI. I canceled my subscription last year when I found out. Then this company has the audacity to send me junk mail asking for donations. The CEOs of this company are taking home their 6 figure salaries while firing off their staff. GET BENT NAT GEO.
Can't believe they make you put in your email to read information that plenty of other places will give for free. Not going to get spam emails.
I tune into Nat Geo programming for educational shows like Dr Pol. By the way, I just learned your canceling his program! Why? Why? Why? When he and his team are so wonderful on the show and we learn so much. We enjoy the Family unity the show exhibits. The family unit is not just the customers but how the team works together. Never a cross word is spoken, customers love them, the vets and techs are awesome!
Please re-think this decision.
Absolutely horrendous experience with the subscription. My father is 83, so I helped him to renew his subscription as he was having problems to set up his online account and renew. I phoned NG, set up his online account and paid his annual subscription with my debit card over the phone and was told all was up and running. That was in May. We haven’t received anything yet, it is July! All they send is reminders to pay. I have exchanged at least 10 emails and phone calls with them, sent them proof of payment from my bank and all the information they might need to locate my payment. They still can’t find my payment and have asked to send them proof of payment, when I already have! It is incredibly frustrating and this is causing much distress to my elderly father. I thought National Geographic would be a serious company, but they have behaved like scammers. The customer service is the worse I have ever experienced. It is like talking to robots. Please sort yourselves out.
The worst Customer Service organization I've ever encountered. I simply wanted to change my long-time National Geo print/digital subscription to digital. I couldn't make the "change" on the website so I called customer service. I called twice but both were the same. They didn't know how to do it, they put me on hold several times for long periods, they were bored with my phone call and hard to hear. The second agent canceled my subscription and then said I would have to sign up myself for a new digital subscription. It's like this magazine is not interested in keeping customers. Unbelievable.
Have been subscribing for years but rarely am I actually able to access my account. Will receive emails of current articles, try to login to my account but am told to enter a 6-digit code that will be sent to my email address. Sometimes this code doesn't ever get sent, other times it takes hours. Once in a while it works but this is a rarity. So frustrated as I live below the poverty line and yet have basically been donating to Disney and National Geographic all this time as most of the time I am unable to actually use the service I have been paying for. Called National Geographic this morning but they were unable to help except to cancel my subscription. Very surprised that such a large supposedly reputable company would have such technical weaknesses. So disappointed!
Ukraine-Russie : Si vous pouviez arrêter - ou le commander à votre IA - votre propagande anti-russe à 3 balles... c'est d'un grotesque..
If you like signing in every time you move to another page then this is for you. I can't recall another app that is as frustrating. Beware. Sad hugs ISH
In light of a current hashtag challenge, I want to share my experiences as a beginner photographer submitting work to National Geographic. There was a significant lack of clear communication about how my photographs were used for profit, and despite multiple attempts, I’ve yet to receive detailed information about where and how my images were utilized. They’ve provided only minimal information about instances they are “aware of,” demonstrating a disappointing approach to record-keeping.
For new photographers, it’s crucial to understand the rights you might be relinquishing when submitting your work to such platforms. My experiences suggest a concerning lack of consideration for photographers’ rights by National Geographic. I urge caution when submitting your photographs.
Furthermore, both the National Geographic Society and National Geographic have refused to provide the Terms of Service for their National Geographic YourShot program and have declined any external ethics review. This refusal to disclose where and how they’ve used my copyrighted work raises serious ethical questions.
This situation has underscored the importance of demanding clarity and transparency when engaging with large platforms. I advise all photographers to seek platforms that respect their contributions and are explicit about terms of usage. Your work deserves recognition and protection, and you should be confident in how it’s handled.
National Geographic used to be a very respected journal. Now, they teamed up with Lindblad Expeditions. Once you subscribe to National Geographic, they sell your address to Lindblad Expeditions without asking for your permission, and you start getting catalogues of offensively expensive travel offers, tens of thousands of dollars per trip, from Lindblad Expeditions, and it is impossible to stop. Cancelled National Geographic because of Lindblad Expeditions spam. Called National Geographic for help to stop the spam. Looks like the spammers may be their partners. The frequency of spam got less but did not stop. Please, save your sanity and DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC!!!
National Geographic violates the UN Charter in its maps. It produces false content that appears to be an attempt to normalize illegal occupation and annexation. In this day and age, it is utterly unacceptable to abuse the influence of a once reputable establishment for spreading false maps. International borders cannot be changed by force, and humanity has proven this in the second world war at an astronomical cost of life loss. Yet, here we are again!
I used to love Nat Geo's magazines and read stacks of old issues almost cover to cover back when I assumed that the content was genuine and scientific. The illusion first shattered when I discovered the "Dog Whisperer" TV show that masqueraded abuse as dog training, and saw that Nat Geo just ignored all the damning critique from highly educated actual behaviour specialists, who implored them to stop the show because it is 1. unscientific, and 2. likely to harm many pet dogs as viewers try to emulate Millan's methods from the popular show. Nat Geo continued the show year after year because the show is popular, and because science, ethics and integrity apparently does not matter... all the sciency gloss is just pretend
Probeer al 1,5 maand mijn adreswijziging door te geven via een formulier op hun website en ik krijg 0 respons. Echt bagger, want ik ben al verhuisd. Klantenservice is dus echt niet betrouwbaar.
It's obviously a tremendously beautiful magazine with fantastic photographs and well-researched in-depth articles, but it's a pity to see that the magazine recently got used as propaganda for the pharmaceutical industry by mentioning only specific evidence in favour of mass vaccination, but leaving out all the evidence of the millions of cases of inverse effects leading to severe trauma or death. I guess we now know where a large part of their sponsor funds come from.
National Geographic Channel has been a source of awe-inspiring documentaries and educational content. It is my go-to channel to relax. The visuals are stunning, and the storytelling is both informative and engaging.
However, the overall experience is marred by the excessive number of advertisements. The frequency and duration of ads interrupt the flow. Sometimes I even forget what I was watching 😀
I understand the importance of ads, but it would be good to balance how often you show them.
Website experience is absolutely awful for updating/cancelling subscriptions. I can't seem to do anything online, and everything is handled through antiquated calls and/or emails. I've been locked into paying a subscription 2 years running because of failed cancellations, and can't even successfully change my address to get it changed to my new address.

There are many grammatical errors in the book. It doesn't mention a lot of exceptions. So the students have a lot of questions and it's really difficult for the teacher to handle all of them.
