Comptoir Libanais Omdömen 

We always wanted to visit one of the Comptoir Libanais restaurants, and yesterday at last we visited the one in Southbank, London.

The restaurant looked nice and pleasant. We were given a table and ordered our food soon after that. I ordered a mixed grill, my wife a chicken Taouk and between us we ordered a portion of chips. So far so good.

However, to our surprise our food arrived within 5 minutes, the fastest cooked meal we have ever experienced. Whilst the food looked nice, we expressed our surprise to the waiter the speed the food was prepared and brought to our table. He just smiled but said nothing.

Once, we started eating our food, we found it to be warm and lacking any taste of a barbecued meat. I gave my wife a piece of my chicken cube, which meant that she had five pieces of chicken. She ate two pieces of her chicken and left the rest. I ate half of my meal and decided not to bother with the rest.

I called the waiter over and questioned him about how they managed to cook our meal so quickly. I also asked him if the food was pre-cooked and just warmed up before it was served to us. He confirmed that that was the case. I told him that that was poor and unacceptable.

We asked for the bill and explained that we were not looking for a reduction in our bill, but that he should bring it to his manager’s attention.

The waiter offered us a ‘baklava’ and a mint tea each as an apology, which we declined to accept. £55.19p for luke-warm tasteless food is not acceptable.

We consider our visit to a Comptoir Libanais restaurant as our first and the last. Based on reading their customer comments on the Trustpilot, the practice of serving warm, preprepared food seems to a be wide spread practice throughout their restaurant chains, which they do not seem to address.

Decorations were very nice, we shared a mezze plate and some appetizers with 3 people and were fairly satisfied. Food was tasty, but the server was rude. Kept giving us rude glances, telling us she would come back, but never did. Also without our knowledge added up a tip percentage without asking us if we wanted to tip. She showed us the total price and dialed in a higher price including a category tipping without or knowledge. We only saw it after a while on the receipt. We would’ve tipped if she asked, but secretly adding the price for a tip share is just plain rude. BE AWARE OF POTENTIALLY GETTING CHARGED MORE

So, here we go.
May 1st, 2024: this was my second visit to the Ealing branch. The service was cheerful and I was looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately and unexpectedly I became ill - very hot and hurried outside to a table there, accompanied by my granddaughter. I was then violently and copiously sick.

Here's my concern: this is a food venue and it appeared, by their non-appearance, that no-one on side had a care that one of their customers have been very sick on their outside area and was now sitting in a pool of vomit. I was there , looking and feeling awful, for at least an hour.

It was only after my daughter arrived from Slough that a roll of blue tissue paper was offered to lay over the vomit.

I don't know whether it was the food - maybe my stomach thought so - but I had a vegetarian meze, so maybe not. It wasn't drink (a bottle of wine between four with a quarter of it left in the bottle).

But what I find unable to understand is the almost total lack of assistance from staff.

I won't be going back.

Visited Manchester spinning fields on Friday night. Myself and wife wanted a quick drink outside as she had visited before.
Entered to see if we could buy a quick drink and were told we can sit outside under cover and use the app to order. (The bar is 3 metres from front door).
The staff were friendly but upon using the app to order one glass of wine and a pint, the tab came to £16, the app then asked if we wanted to leave a tip. The wife decided “why add a tip when we haven’t even had a drink yet, you tip for good service”, so she selected “no” the app then automatically added a £2 service charge….seems ridiculous but I was not aware of it as she ordered otherwise I would have gone elsewhere.
The staff were great but I think charging someone a service charge for delivering two drinks a maximum of 6 meters is a little ridiculous.

Won’t be visiting again unless these tricks to extort more money is removed.

It's going downhill. Started great but over the course of two years we've been going it has gone bad. Portions reduced, prices ridiculous and now a 12% service charge! We shan't bother going again and would advise looking elsewhere for lunch unless you want to pay through the nose!

My experience at the several locations I've been to has always been good but my experience at the London Bridge branch in December 2023 was truly exceptional. I love all the food and needed to feed a guest who was celiac. I ordered a large amount of takeaway as I wanted to serve six of us in my home.
Dom and his team went the extra mile, at a very busy time of year. The food was great, the large order was correct and packaged well, and the service exceptional. Thank you!

Don't bother coming here food less then average and lukewarm.
Grandson asked if he could have his chicken taouk open wrap wrapped. This caused quite the confusion as they are only able to wrap for take away. When requested after this conversation, the waitress had to check this was ok to do with the chef. It was in fact, possible to fold the bread! WOW! This came out after mine and my daughter's food, after we asked where it was, and was in a takeaway box. What a waste of packaging!
The lamb and white bean stew was relatively tasteless and not hot when served. The zaatar flatbread was more like a garlic flatbread with absolutely no zaatar on it at all.
The lamb kofte open wrap was mediocre - not something to be recommended.
We all got a Mira frozen which sounded delicious in theory. In reality, it tasted like crushed ice with a squeeze of flavoring which was lost if the straw hit the wrong part of the drink.

Good food, expensive, good enough staff. But for some strange reason they will not being my bill. I have waited over an hour and still my waiter ignores me. Many who came after me have been gone for a long time.

We are regulars at the Comptoir Libanais in Kingston and we have always had a very good experience. This is the first time that we have visited the South Kensington restaurant and it was very poor. From the arrival outside, where your host was trying to persuade us to sit outside, but we had to insist on more than one occasion that we wanted to sit inside and did not mind waiting which seemed to annoy her.
Having ordered, we remarked between us how quickly the food came, it was barely 10 minutes after we ordered it and we were surprised it could be prepared from fresh so quickly. We were right to be concerned. We normally love the food but none of our three main courses were good. My wife's lamb tagine was lukewarm/cold and not enjoyable, my chicken and olive tangine was bland and I could not see or taste any hint of olives, and my daughter's lamb grill appeared burnt.
If all this were not bad enough, my wife and daughter said that the ladies' toilets were in a bad state, so much so that my daughter would not use them and in the end made use of the disabled toilet on the ground floor.
All in all, this was a very poor experience, and £66.70 not well spent and we were really shocked as our visits in Kingston have always been excellent.
In addition, we registered above on the CL website and we have never heard anything back. Possibly suggests they do not care.

Our server Aiden was so efficient, he checked back on us to see if we needed anything once our food arrived. The service, atmosphere and food was amazing.

Enorm weinig hun aanbevolen menu.
Was verbaast je neemt gerecht en krijg je paar aardappeltjes en klein broodje met worstje. Geen enkele garnering.
Moet zeggen dat het wel lekker was.

Ik zou aanraden dat ze er beetje salade bij doen dan lijkt het wat en heb je hele andere beleving.

Brilliant welcome, atmosphere, service, food and very bright and colourful.
I have been several times. The puddings are always the highlight but today we had breakfast. Waiting staff explained they were so busy yesterday they had run out of some ingredients. Fantastic replacement items and a beautiful Lebanese breakfast. Waiting staff wonderful as always.

Great decor and atmosphere but totally sub standard food. Kofte drowned withe cinnamon and slightly rare. Shame!

Comptoir Lebanais in Westfield White City (London) used to be our most go to place for lunch. In recent months, not only have prices spiked (as with all things in the country) but the amount served has drastically reduced in both quality and size. The mixed grill and salad platter (£18) with one lamb and one chicken kebab have reduced to no bigger than my forefinger (about 8.8cm). The six dried up 2cm cubed chicken pieces in Mama Zohra salad at £13.95 were tasteless and resembled wooden dice. As for the flaffel salad at similar price - well they were little golf balls. Only the salads surrounding these plates were tasty. Comptoir Lebanais Westfield White City branch are definitely not worth going back to.

Teşekkürler! Kamal and the gang at this fantastic Lebanese restaurant in the heart of Exeter! Great, efficient, polite and friendly service. We had a short time and our Mezze came out within 10 minutes. Beautifully tasty food, all lovingly prepared and served- probably the best houmous we’ve ever tasted! (“Tony’s”) and the coffee is to die for!
The ambiance and decor is interesting, relaxed and relevant without being OTT; indoor and outdoor seating and affordable wonderful food.
As we’re vegan it’s so nice to see and eat gorgeous tasty food in a restaurant where anyone can feel welcomed!

I have ordered a chicken wrap and salad.salad was not ready than he gave me only cabbage that’s it and the wrap was with peppers and chicken only. I bought something from another restaurant,was rubbish

Precooked. Tasteless nothing like Lebanese food. Very disappointed.

Sad to see a nice place going bad. Visited Kingston branch. Food was ok but nothing that you can't get elsewhere at better price and much better service. Cocktails were ridiculous, very small and served in a 1/3 full small glass. They have over 12% service charge.
Always check your bill too! We were overcharged £20 for 2 extra cocktails which they told us they don't have so we had choose different ones. Funnily enough they had included these in the bill! Shocking! Luckily we spotted that and they reversed it. They didn't bother apologising and seemed annoyed. I always spent between £170- £250 on a single bill every time I visited so it makes me question their billing now.
Never going back there or any of their branches.

I visited the Comptoir Libanais in Kingston and was served by the loveliest girls - Sanchi & Gina. Such customer service orientated and charming young ladies. Their service was brilliant and they are true assets to this establishment, as well as lovely girls in general. Thank you again <3
