Cats protection responded quickly to my queries and it didn't take long to fill in the application. As soon as I saw the kittens advertised on their site I couldn't wait to have them . Cats Protection didn't make me wait long before we were invited to pick them up!! This is the third time we have had kittens. The first, Merlin is now 11 years old and Latte and Americano were the other two and they are just over one year old. I will try and get their pictures up on FB. We are delighted with our cats and love them very much. We are so thankful to CP for doing such a magnificent job rescuing these poor babies.

We’ve just adopted Tony from Cats Protection at Wickhamford. The whole process was great, from emailing to meeting to collecting we were made to feel confident that he is the right cat for us. Everyone we spoke and met wanted the best for him. The whole site is spotlessly clean and the cats obviously well cared for.

I decided to make my house a home by adopting a cat from the United Kingdom Cat Centre. What a wonderful, professional, knowledgeable and compassionate team. Joe took lots of time to find out what kind of cat would suit my needs and would be happy living with me. They have an appointment system which is a great way to meet the cat/cats which you have shortlisted…. Much better for the welfare of the cats and the sanity of the adopter! I now have the most purrfect cat who has settled in incredibly quickly and who is affectionate, loving and the most wonderful companion. It really is a perfect match. Thank you to all the staff at Chelwood Gate for making the process so easy and stress free for both of us.

Wonderful centre in Forest Row. Staff knowledgeable and welcoming. A fantastic calm and organised way of meeting the kittens/cats.

I saw a kitten looking for a new home on their website and made the call. An appointment was made to meet him and after making our decision to welcome him into our family a collection date was arranged about a week later.

On collection the staff were caring and our kitten was given into my care with all his favourite bits and pieces. I left with all the information on his health, vaccination, food and litter requirements. Absolutely outstanding way of working - he is happy and settled and running rings around us.

I haven't had a cat for 10 yrs+
I moved last year & decided I am ready to be a cat mum again & in particular adopt an older cat. The website enabled me to browse through all the little darlings & choose a 13 yr old male. Who is so sweet. The centre is situated in a beautiful location & set back down a long drive. Plenty of parking. Inside everywhere was very clean & everyone so nice & helpful. Was given lots of information. Can't wait to pick up the new family member.

I have adopted 2 cats from Cats Protection, one in 2023 and one in 2024. One kitten and one 7 year old. Adoption was straightforward. I had to complete an application, do a pre-meet and pay a small fee for adoption. All the basics were covered including chip, vaccines, worm and flea etc. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful before, during and after pick up. I expected questions about my ability to care for them. All went smoothly and I am a very happy cat parent!

We counted down the minutes from 6 in the morning to 9am when the helpline opened just to get some emotional support and advice after our cat passed away from two heart attacks and we were left with one kitten, trying to juggle our grief and take care of a hyperactive kitten that we also got from cats protection. When they picked up I couldn't even get an ounce of sympathy or comfort. The woman didn't even give condolences for my beautiful cat who passed. She didn't give any advice and told me she doesn't know and that I need to contact my own cats protection branch. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A HELP LINE AND I WAS ASKING YOU FOR HELP SO WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP US? I will never- ever call them again. We are ruined, we don't have anyone to speak to, to help us and all we asked for was for one phone call to a stranger to give us some advice and all she has done is made us feel worse.

We adopted a kitten from cats protection the United Kingdom cat centre. We were facilitated by Joe who was brilliant in explaining the process. From the start the kittens welfare was put forward. Everything was explained clearly and advice was given throughout. We were able to adopt a kitten within a few weeks. I cannot credit cats protection enough for what they do. Id recommend them to anyone who's looking to rehome a cat. We love our kitten and we appreciated the support from all of the team. They also have affordable cat items in a little shopping area which is useful and informative for things like carrier sizes, scratching posts and general information.

Absolutely brilliant staff was spot on . We adopted two kittens from them two yr ago. They gave us good advice and information to help home them with our elderly cat. They were at the end of the phone when ever we needed advice. All cats lived very happily together . Until sadly we lost our elder cat last year. We fell in love last week with one of their one eye kitten. Once again they responded straight away. Gave us lots of information and invited us to visit and take our time to see if we were right for the kitten and she was right with us. I absolutely recommend Cats protection there sole interest is the cats welfare. And if unfortunately you don’t match once you’ve adopted they are ready to take the cat back and try again.

I adopted two rescue kittens from Cats Protection in Sep 2023 and it was a seamless experience .. I applied to adopt Pedro and Peppa while I was away down South and had emails and phone calls from the lady who was fostering them .. like a vetting call I guess .. anyway roll on two days later and I was driving to Girvan to collect them and bring them home. Roll on two years this Sep and the two furbabies are thriving .. and totally settled . I adopted them when they were 4 months and they had some trauma issues I think as took a long time to settle and trust ..they had already been brought back from one home 😥🏡

When we moved house we knew we wanted a cat. We reached out to CP Woking as there were 2 brothers that we wanted to see. It took a couple of weeks to hear back but we spoke to a lovely Alison who did our home visit etc. we then found our 2 cats Cynder & Neelix. We’ve had them nearly a year now and couldn’t have been happier with the support from Alison and the CP team.

Absolutely fantastic when you are adopting a cat or cats. They have been my chosen charity on a number of occasions. Thank you for all the work you do helping 🐈 😻

Back in 2018 I adopted Casey. I'd had cats growing up but this was the first cat of my own as an adult. I was in a flat at the time and visited my dad who had a dog - the website was really helpful to let me filter cats that are OK around dogs and are indoor (although he subsequently got jealous of the dog being taken for walks so started coming out with us 😄).
Really helpful people, and very glad they do pre-visits. Although it's an extra hurdle, I'm so glad they're responsible and don't just hand over these vulnerable beauties to just anyone, given how many cruel people are in the world.

They helped us find the best match for us and, most importantly, for our beloved Monkey. He had been at the shelter for several months because he was shy and FIV+. But we approached him slowly, with plenty of patience as instructed, he sniffed our hands and came out of hiding. The rest is history. He became the boss in our house and was adored by all.
Cats Protection do amazing work, day in and day out, they really do care for each cat and their needs.

I got my cat Kiki from CATS Protection Arbroath just over 1 year ago. The best decision I have ever made . I love her so much. And the process was so simple . Would not be without her now

I called Cats Protection on 14 May 2025 as I was looking to adopt some kittens they had. Yes, I was a new enquiry, but still.

The lady I spoke to was lovely and asked me all the usual questions which I answered and was told somebody would get back to me from my local branch but it wouldn't be quick - I expected maybe within 2 weeks I'd get a phone call. That was over a month ago and nobody has bothered to contact me.

I have since bought two kittens privately but would have been happy to adopt as we're always being told to "adopt, don't shop" but when you try to, you get nowhere.

I know they're volunteers but what does that mean? They can't work as quickly as if they were being paid? If you're inundated with enquiries, surely the ones wanting to take kittens and cats off of your hands should be some sort of priority so you can make space for those that have sadly been surrendered and you need to take in. It's like they don't actually want the help to reduce the cats they have in their locations and to give them loving homes.

Very disappointed in Cats Protection.

We got our Jack from you 5 years ago. He is 16 now and the sweetest boy. We are so lucky to have you to care for all unwanted cats and rehome them. Donations are important with costs so high these days which I continue to support. Thank you.

I got my Fred (he was originally called Finch) from Sara in Rendlesham. I had a choice of 3 boys. None of them came to me. So I just pointed at one, it could have been any of them. He was quite scared to start with. My other cat Rolf and Fred did not get on. It took 5 days for them to become friends. Now they are in love with each other. Fred is just the sweetest black cat. Every morning I have to cuddle his tummy, he rolls back and forth. He is like a baby panther, he is huge. My experience with CP was fantastic. I keep thinking I will get another one, but then change my mind again, just in case Fred and Rolf won't accept it. I'm still in touch with Sara. X

We have had the most positive experiences with Cat Protection from adoption points of view and the Grief side!

They've been helping in every aspect of our journey and we will be coming back in September to add to our family and will only use CP.
