The service we received from Castelan - both the team I liaised with and the technician who came was absolutely 1st class. Everyone was extremely helpful and completely understood what we needed.

The first technician sprayed the mechanism but said that the motor might be leaking,nt a problem as they were carried in his van.He did not replace the motor
The second technician again sprayed the mechanism.He said he had no spares like the motor
He did say the were signs of oxidation

⭐☆☆☆☆ – Castelan Group: Avoid Their Accidental Damage Cover

I would strongly advise anyone considering Castelan Group’s accidental damage insurance to think twice before purchasing it.

I bought a sofa from Furniture Village for over £3,000 and also paid for a 5 -year accidental damage protection policy provided by Castelan Group.

I have a child with autism who accidentally spilled food on the sofa. I immediately tried to clean the stain using the cleaning product supplied by Furniture Village, but it didn’t remove it. I then contacted Castelan Group, explained exactly what had happened, and provided photographs of the stain as requested.

After waiting several weeks with little communication, they eventually arranged for an engineer to visit. The engineer attempted to clean the stain but couldn’t remove it completely. He told me that he would arrange a second visit because another engineer might have different equipment that could finish the job. He also said it was only a small stain.

To my surprise, instead of arranging the follow up visit, Castelan Group changed their position and claimed that the stain had built up over time. This makes no sense, as I had clearly explained from the outset that it was caused by a single accidental food spill.

They have now refused to carry out any further work, despite me paying for a 5 year accidental damage protection policy. In my opinion, they appear to be looking for reasons not to honour the cover they sold me.

My experience has been extremely disappointing. Communication has been poor, the claim has taken weeks to progress, and I feel let down by the service I received. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Castelan Group or their accidental damage protection

Refused to address issue. Colour had lifted from Leather sofa.
Because I could not identify how it happened but was obviously a small spill, just a small discoloured area, no material rips or scuffs or wear, they would not honour the policy.

Friendly, informative and professional

Castelan rep repaired my broken sofa and tidied up after himself. He was polite and answered any questions I had. Very pleased with the service 😊

Dean was friendly, proficient and professional when he visited to do our repair.
