Rebekah was very helpful in getting me a payment plan sorted just in future for urgent matters it would be a lot easier and more convenient to contact me through call or message as my emails often get lost, but other than that was really helpful.

My experience was great because of the…

My experience was great because of the correspondence happening between me and this housing team. One in particular by the name of Phoebe has been so helpful in booking a house for me and my friends, always answering my questions and she’s so likeable and friendly. I honestly love her for dealing with the amount of questions I ask her. All in all my experience has been amazing.

Property Manager Rebekah

Property Manager Rebekah reacted and responded to the issue I raised very quickly. She was also very polite and kind when she have her feedback. I’m really happy about the outcome

Stay away

Horrible Accomodation for student, have been complaining about the Accomodation issues since move in, never got anywhere with it.

Excellent Service

I recently had a great experience with WeAreKin. They were very considerate of my situation as a student and even gave me a discount on my rent, which I really appreciated. They were also flexible with when I could start my installment plan, which took a lot of stress off my shoulders. A special shoutout to Casey-Lee, who was incredibly responsive and patient with my numerous questions. Highly recommend WeAreKin for their exceptional customer service and support!

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. I beg anyone, do not sign a contract with this company!!!!
Move in day to start was horrendous, the whole place was dirty and absolutely disgusting. Multiple maintance issues as well. The company wouldn’t send anyone out to help and the property manager was ignoring us. We had to spend 5 hours EACH cleaning just to make it habitable. Since living there not one maintenance issue was fixed.
After one week of moving in we had our electricity cut off because they hadn’t paid our bill (we had bills included) and so we had to go and pay to top it up ourselves. We didn’t get this money back for at least 2 weeks.
Then we had a leak in the roof which never got fixed and caused mould - this wasn’t even looked at for over a month and was never fixed.
Then our boiler broke - we had 5 weeks without hot water or heating before we moved out and severed the contract.
They supplied electric heaters which were rubbish and tried to fob us off with a paid gym pass to shower - which is not good enough.
Finally got out of there and will never be going back. The staff were rude (props to the maintenance staff who were lovely) and the managers wouldn’t answer the phone or reply to emails. Please do not rent with this company or under their other name “UK Student Houses”

Communicating Issues

Excellent communication by staff when it came to needing issues resolved - on the side of rent enquiries. However, handling of issues with tenants, and maintenance work has been subpar during my time at the residence. Serious issues that have needed to be addressed with respect to tenants have been neglected, and maintenance teams regularly appear without notice, or an email to inform of when they're visiting the property.

Overall though, my experience has been pleasant, minus the above issue.

Worst place

Worst place, avoid at any cost.I moved in last month, no hot water and no WiFi even though they are charging us, they have not sorted it out. WORST MANAGEMENT

If you value good living conditions don’t bother

Just a cavalcade of errors things not working and absolutely no communication. Didn’t receive anything regarding my ‘key’ app not working for weeks so whenever I left the room was always unlocked. Constant bugs and god knows what else spotted in the bathroom the ventilator in the bathroom is broke asked for someone to come around and they said yeah it doesn’t work and left it at that. The pipe behind the sink was made so much smaller than it takes 10 minutes to wait for the sink to drain when full. And the WiFi is crap content locks on everything from YouTube to using your gaming console. Incredibly glad I’m going on a foreign exchange trip in the new year so I can get out of this shambles of a property. If you can rent through the University of Derby don’t bother with these lot.

DO NOT RENT FROM WE ARE KIN/UK STUDENT HOUSES.
Moved in on 07/09/24 as stated in our contract. Had no one to greet us at move in as they had emailed the day before. One tenant was outside waiting to recieve information about keys for 2 hours before having to get in contact with THE MAINTENANCE COMPANY to get in. We had no contact from WAK or USH until 2 days later.
After entering the property finally tenant was greeted with a filthy property that had not even been touched since the previous tenants moved out. Dirt everywhere, mouldy food in fridges and on counters, dirty underwear in washing machine, dirty shower mats in the bathrooms, unflushed toilets etc.
They eventually sent emergency cleaners who barely touched the property 6 hours after move in which resulted in us having to deep clean it ourselves.
We have had no working showers for a month, no heating for a month, no working oven for a month and after investigation we have found out we don’t have a boiler to heat anything in the property.
The way we have been treated by WAK / USH is unforgivable.
No one should be allowed to live in these conditions.
We have attempted contact uncountable times and the only reply we get is again from the maintenance company.
It has resulted in us having to report the property and letting agents to the council and appropriate media to get the word spread amongst other students as this company should not be allowed to put people through what we have been through.
We have been contacting the company since move in and still nothing has happened, the only refurbishments are cosmetic and to make the property look nice for tours to future tenants.
On speaking to tenants in other properties we have found out that they have been treat exactly the same.
The Manchester/Liverpool office should be shut down immediately to prevent anyone else being able to live in an awful place like this with no basic amenities.

Excellent Company with kind helpful staff

I signed a contract for accommodation that I later found out I didn’t need anymore. I informed ukstudenthouses and we discussed my situation. I had to find a replacement to take over my contract and sign a deed of assignment. It was a very stressful time in my life and this was an added stressor. As I went searching for potential candidates, I was in constant communication with the company and their response was always quick, helpful and precise.
I want to give a special thank you to Rowena, she went above and beyond to make sure I managed to find a suitable replacement and was the kindest throughout the entire process. She was the best person that could have helped me at the time. Due to the urgency and the upcoming deadlines she even responded to my queries at non-work hours, which is a testimony to her determination to genuinely help. Her service was excellent and we thankfully managed to sort everything out.
