What a useless company
What a useless company. Trying for weeks to make a purchase on their Web site. Checkout failed several times for no reason. Now I can't put the item in the basket as there is no link, only a sales enquiry for which WD failed to respond to. Useless pre-sales service, can't imagine how poor after-sales service would be. This is one to avoid I think.

Lisa Royer, Customer Support Supervisor, and Adrian are the most incompetent staff ever. Oblivious and lost. The CEO, David Goeckeler is no different that the rest of the staff. Rating of 1.3 by more than 500 reviewer says a volume.
What a shame.

Ich habe dort am 17.11.24 einen Account erstellt und eine Frage im Bereich interne Festplatten geschrieben.
Es ging um die WD IcePacks für die Velociraptoren , wo ich Daten zu den Wärmeleitpads und den Schrauben haben wollte .
Ich habe hier 2 neue Festplatten dieser Serie liegen und möchte sie gerne ohen Risiko in die Icepacks einbauen , nur leider fehlen mir die Schrauben und die Pads .
Nun stelle ich fest das mein Thema im Forum gar nicht mehr existiert . Einfach gelöscht .
Ohen Nachricht ob ich dort irgentwelkche Regeln verletzt habe , oder sonst was.

My Cloud Home pessimo
Comprato un My Cloud Home, costretto da fine supporto di My Cloud. Hanno peggiorato enormemente il prodotto. Ci sono 2 interfacce, una web e una per accesso locale, non si capisce perché, prima era tutto consolidato. Non si possono più creare le partizioni (shares), bisogna prima passare da una cartella unica. Le utilità di backup sul loro sito, di terze parti, non sono compatibili. Ma allora che serve un NAS? Subito restituito.

Interne 4TB HDD Festplatte nach nur 7 Monaten defekt. RMA beantragt, Eingeschickt, Bestätigung das es angekommen ist, nie wieder etwas gehört. Festplatte weg, Geld weg.
Leute, WD hat hier nicht ohne Grund 1,3 Sterne. Es stimmt was hier geschrieben wird, ihr müsst es nicht selber herausfinden. Kauft unter keinen Umständen bei WD.

I lost all data on the second use of a 6-month-old SSD Sandisk 2TB portable drive. I registered with support requesting a replacement. I got an email asking me to email support again. I went to the link, and the form does not drop down on half its tabs, and it's the same form I've just filled in. Customer support seems to be designed to send you in a circle without actually getting an answer.

Se posso pensare a qualcosa che funziona peggio di tutti i prodotti Western Digital che ho avuto non mi viene in mente niente. Meglio? Mi ricordo una volta in cui un hard disk ha perso dei settori e non era più leggibile, ecco, quello funzionava meglio dei loro prodotti.
Lost all my data in a 6 month old 1TB hard disk
I would not put any stars if I could.
I lost three years of photo memories in a portable hard disk 1TB I bought from wd essential.
The hardest was brand new and there is no any warranty on that. I call a company to retrieve my data, but they are asking for $1000 because of the capacity of the hard disk.
I would advise you to buy a SEAGATE. It is way stronger and I never had a problem with those.
I will never ever buy from WD essential again.

Vielleicht doch besser Seagate und Co
Auf Nachfrage nach detaillierten Angaben zu externen Laufwerken teilte mir WD mit, dass keine Angaben dazu gemacht werden und kein bestimmtes Laufwerk garantiert werden kann. Ein externes Laufwerk bei WD zu kaufen ist also wie Lotto spielen.
Zu finden mit Google Suche „Laufwerkstyp in einem externen WD-Laufwerksgehäuse“ (Link nicht erlaubt).
Habe mir für rund 350€ ein internes Laufwerk gekauft, dass leider nicht funktionierte. Das Laufwerk wird im Rahmen der Garantie ausgetauscht. Den Versand aus Deutschland in die Tschechische Republik (versichert ca. 20€) muss jedoch ich bezahlen. Das sagen die Richtlinien.
Ich habe also den vollen Preis für ein Produkt bezahlt und muss trotz Garantie erneut zahlen, obwohl ich nichts falsch gemacht habe.

Bought a micro SD card off Amazon which cost over £100.00 and it failed after two months. Amazon direct you to Western Digital who sent me 1x email asking a lot of stupid questions but do NOT want to help. They very quickly started blanking me and have offered me absolutely nothing!!! Terrible customer service!!
Horrible website, gets crazy between WD.com and Sandisk.com. Worse support
I spent a lot of money in multiples HDDs and SSDs for my company. It was almost impossible to do well because they divided it between WD and Sandisk, all website is broken and support is hard to reach and useless.
They made me create new accounts in Sandisk when they're supposed to have been transfered there, and I couldn't buy anything because they had to check for the company when it was already checked in WD.com
If you have personal and business account you're dead, cookies get mixed and you spend the day signing in and out.
My invoice was wrong because the invoice date was later than when I bought and paid it. I needed it to be for the date that I pay, that's what you get when you PAY something, but they said it's for when they process it. Their answer was to just send it back...
Bulk-Ware statt Ware in Reseller-Verpackung geliefert.
Statt Original-Ware, wie im Shop angeboten, liefert WD einfach Bulk-Ware. Der Kundenservice hält es noch nicht einmal für nötig zu antworten.
Ich persönlich werde NIE WIEDER bei diesem Hersteller bzw. Produkte von diesem Hersteller kaufen. Denn ich möchte mir gar nicht vorstellen, was um Falle von einer Garantie passiert oder besser gesagt, was das Garantie-Versprechen des Herstellers wert ist. NULL KOMMA NICHTS.
Avoid
Purchased SN580 NVMe SSD to upgrade my Dell Laptop. WD allows you to download a stripped down version of Acronis TrueHome software. When the back up recovery fails Acronis says speak to WD. WD says speak to Acronis. Chat session with WD finally, but was cut short because my recovery disk was on a Seagate External. I was able to fix it myself by down loading full version of Acronis. Next time I will avoid WD altogether.
Worst Company Ever
Ordered an expensive SanDisk Pro-G40 SSD from Western Digital online store.
Tried to register the disk at Western Digital online, which froze the screen and would not allow me to register.
Opened a chat line with WD support who told me I was with the wrong support team and gave me a link to SanDisk Support.
SanDisk support told me I was with the wrong support team and needed to speak to Western Digital Support.
Contacted WD support who then said they would register the product for me.
Some hours later received an email from WD Support who said:
"Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is
We have updated our support process for HDD and Flash products from the Western Digital family of brands. You have landed into the incorrect line of support and will be transferred over to the correct support line by clicking on this link. Thank you for your patience".
Tried to register online and the screen froze and emailed WD to try to get this fixed.
Some hope of that happening!

J'ai commandé à 2 reprises un MyCloud duo. Le produit ne m'a jamais été livré et Western Digital me demande de gérer la situation avec UPS. Ces derniers ne fournissent aucune preuve de livraison et refusent de transmettre un avis de non livraison à Western Digital.
279 EUR non remboursé depuis le mois de Mai.
Je déconseille vivement si vous ne voulez pas perdre votre argent.

Au bout de 2-3 ans d’utilisation, mon SSD cause des crashs à mon PC. J’envoie le produit sous garantie a Western Digital en Republique Tcheque. On me repond quelques jours plus tard que le disque est endommage. Je reponds que c’est bien pour cela que je l’envoie en sav. On m’explique que le disque n’est pas couvert par ce type de dommage et que je dois choisir entre le detruire et me le faire renvoyer a mes frais. Quelle fut ma surprise de decouvrir en piece jointe des emails quelques jours apres une image de mon ssd cassé en deux! Je proteste et envoie une photo de mon ssd en une seule piece avant l’envoi chez eux. On me repond que le dossier est clos. Des escrocs. A eviter fortement.
Last spring my two WD drives worked, now?
Last spring my two WD drives (one WD Passport and one WD Passport Ultra) worked great as backup drives. However, both have failed and WD support provides NO assistance as to why, or how, these drives failed. I will never buy WD products again. Their support is completely hands off and uncaring.
Now using Samsung and the performance is superior.

Mal nicht 1 Stern verdient. Habe mehrere Produkte von SanDisk und Western Digital. Produkte überstehen die Garantiezeit mal nicht. Der Kundenservice sagt einfach dass es ein altes Produkt ist. Man hat mir gnädigerweise ein Gutschein von 15% versprocgen. Nichts bekommen.
Finger weg wenn ein Hersteller sagt dass ein Produkt das 6 Monate hat ein altes Produkt ist.
