Terrible service. I cannot login the system, so I tried password reset/forgot username but unfortunately no email had arrived my inbox/junk box.
No direct contact number is available on the website. Now my son cannot but school meal. In this kind of service, I believe it is essential to provide contact telephone number so that problems have been solved without delay. Missing school lunch is terrible for children.
Please send password reset link ASAP!!!

I’ve sent several emails about an unprocessed balance transfer all of which have been ignored. My daughter has moved schools and I actioned a balance transfer from her old to her new account in September. It’s now Nov 2nd and it’s still pending.
After googling the company, trust pilot seems to be the only way to get someone to actually help.
So someone from Squid if you’re reading this please can you help me. Thank you

Requested a refund in early Oct. £160 the app says its been processed but nothing in my account. 3 emails chasing ignored. I need the money refunded. Poor service see others with same complaints. No telephone number to contact and speak to someone. I really need the money back urgently. It was a cancelled school trip. School very prompt to refund really disappointed you still have my money.

Squid have over £50 of my money and are not returning my emails. My son changed schools and when I tried to transfer the money and close his old account the money disappeared. Several emails and no response. Given the state of the climate you would think schools would find a better system. Additionally, not only do I now have to find an extra months lunch money, I’m gobsmacked at the responses from squid “customer service” and have decided to report to trading standards.

I have sent 5 emails in the past week and even though a little message pops up saying will reply within 24hrs I am yet to get a reply! Trying to get a refund from my child's cancelled school trip but no way of contacting them, does anyone know if there is any way to report this fraudulent app because I'm now £50 down
*EDIT* it will be £50 by the time you lot actually do something about it! So no answer as to why you refuse to answer emails! No number to contact yourselves either. I shall be finding the correct procedure to report your sham of a company to because there is absolutely no way of getting hold of you because ALL emails go unanswered

My daughter left the school and therefore no longer required the Squid account anymore. I had uploaded £16.85. I have emailed them three times now and have received no response. The customer service is appalling. They have basically stolen my money!!
My name is Amy Leng. And as you have my funds, which I can not withdraw and you are ignoring me I would argue that ‘Squid’ unlawfully holding my money

Awful company, my school stopped using the catering firm who used Squid with one days notice before term started. I had already uploaded money to the account, as soon as I found out that the new provider wasn’t using squid I asked for a refund and been totally ignored. I’ve sent two support requests and an email and no response.

Constant problems with the squid card at school, and last week, suddenly the squid website stopped showing my son's account.
Noone replies to the contact form messages or direct emails.
On the other hand, they didn't have any problem taking some money from my bank account (I had set the auto top up), even with the account not showing up anywhere and the school writing down the food cost on paper as the card won't work...

SQuid will not respond to my emails after stating they refunded my money to a bank account. The account number they quoted is not my bank nor had ever been associated with my account. Glad my child has now left school and I won't need to deal with this awful company again.

When my child left school I logged on and requested they close the card and states they will refund you within about 5 working days. I did this in late July. They closed the card alright as I can no longer log in - but kept the balance!!! Despite emailing them numerous times, they NEVER respond. Now September and still no refund. This is disgusting given the cost of living crisis - they are effectively stealing children's lunch money!
Update in response to SQuid's response: - you can see my question was 'please can you advise....' and Squid never did advise me. They closed the account. NO WHERE on their website does it say refunds are not automatic where a card or account is closed. So how are customers to know? I would also add that although they claim they acted within '2 hours' and 'confirmed' the account was closed - I am not sure who this was 'confirmed' with - as I have not received any response to date to my request.

If you cannot login and ask for a password reset it does not work. There is no quick access to help (via phone or online) you have to email which can take up to 3 days to reply to and then you don’t get a good / resolving answer. All in all very unsatisfactory and I will report to our school.
Terrible customer services. No telephone number and nobody responds to emails. Even though I have sent over 5 emails. My son couldn't go on his residential due to ill health and gave me a refund into squid. No withdrawal options and they just seem to be sitting on my £140 due to not responding to emails. Would leave zero stars if that was an option.
This company will take your money but they wont give it back, my daughter had £22.96 on her account when she left school so I requested a refund, 2 days later £2.96 went into my bank account. Thought no big deal it's a typo and someone's just left off a 2 when keying the refund but this was not the case, when I emailed squid they gave me a bogus transaction number for the missing £20 (which HSBC confirmed the transaction was bogus) and told me there was nothing further they could do to help. If you want my advice stay away from this company most schools are using contactless these days you'd be much better off getting your child a Go Henry card or Santander 123 account (where age will permit) and have the piece of mind your money is safe should you need it back at some point. If you do use this company just put on how much your child needs weekly. The one star is because you can't leave zero stars.
I have experienced this platform for 5 years now at the same school.
Positives
=======
a) The first three years there were no issues
b) Topups were quick and automated
c) Email alerts were generated for every transaction
d) They transferred the money promptly from one account to another promptly as requested
Negatives
========
1) Last 2 years their system has not been reliable
2) Recently all transactions vanished from the trips and offers purse
3) Recently some strange transactions appeared on the CATERING purse
4) About a year back a similar situation happened where many transactions were duplicated.
This is not acceptable from a site that handles PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS. Hence a rating of one-star.
Absolutely appalling. Everything was fine until the app stopped working. Now they no longer send an email when you go below £5 meaning you're more likely to fall below zero without realising and today I have attempted to log in to top up and the system won't accept my log in details, asks me to change my password and then won't accept the new details despite saying it has, and then locks me out for 30 minutes. Had to ring the school to ensure my son got lunch today!
Obviously some cost cutting going on at this company and it shows! Hopefully the school won't renew the contract.
Truly rubbish app and web site.
As with many others, this gets one star cause I can’t give it zero stars. They sit on cash and don’t pay you back for weeks but then delete your valid debit card details for no discernible reason and refuse payment for a kids food/bus. No idea why schools use this bag of pants when there are simple debit card options available.
I am only giving this company one star as I cannot leave them none. This is by far the most incompetent company ever. They are used by my son’s school and have no customer services contact number and are nothing but incompetent. When my son had his Isle of Wight school trip which was cancelled due to Covid the company got paid out via the insurance company and the parents waited months for refunds despite the school confirming they had the money.
They rarely respond to e mails and when they do they are h helpful. I stopped paying for school dinners for my children as I couldn’t keep using this company so my children now take packed lunch.
