A bunch of scammers, I have been contacting this company since they stopped supplying schools in my area. Of course I was not informed via my email that they were ‘pulling the plug’ so to speak.
After 2 months they responded with they could not find my account with my email ( I only ever used 1)… so I searched back and found an email from them acknowledging the exact email I had forwarded. Low and behold they then found my account but will take the first £10 due to the delay…which they encouraged by not finding my account.
They have no intentions of returning any monies at all!
This company should be held accountable !!
Schools - please don’t use this scamming company! They treat parents abysmally and will steal money
Initially I would have given squid card 5stars. They previously would reply to emails and concerns within a day, sometimes within hours.
However, recently they do not respond. With no other way to contact squid card, it’s just emails you can send.
My son recently lost his bus pass with funds left on it.
So I went onto the website, blocked the card as requested and emailed.
But as we have blocked the card we are unable to request a new card or refund.
They finally responded after about a month, and then stopped replying.
If you do not need to contact this company, everything is fine. But the customer service is too slow, and I am unsure if I am even going to get my money back as I cannot contact them and expect a reply!
Very poor service. Both website and app crash and you're left with money taken from your bank account and no funds added to your account. Avoid if possible
I lost my login details and sent many emails asking for help, but no reply. I was left unable to top up for my son’s lunch or other items. Very poor customer service.
Have had £20 pending on my sons account for months have sent numerous emails to Squid been bounced to school, school say its not them. Squid are now holding £20 of my money without my permission - which is outrageous. I have spent valuable time trying to get this resolved and STILL have not had a refund.
Trying to contact this company is like trying to find a black box in a dark room at night during a power cut ,no reply to my email mail in nearly two weeks and no other way to contact them . Hopefully they can be shamed into contact by this awful review
Requested a refund for my sons wrap around care account for £60 on 16th August refund was showing as approved on 31st August , it is now 9th October still no refund! Shocking. I have emailed customer service 5 times the school has emailed twice with no response, completely unacceptable to just ignore people. Avoid using as its very difficult to get refund if you require one.
So hard to use. Take money from my balance incorrectly. Email them and they do not respond.
Finally got my money back. To all those who enter here...keep the faith. Refunds are eventually possible but with rather more effort than clicking a link on the app.
This company is unreliable and does not refund money. Be careful, because they do not answer emails and there is no phone number. In my opinion, the police should be interested in the activities of this company, and the government should not sign a contract with unreliable companies.
I had to use this company as it was the cashless provider for my local authority who decided not to renew their contract with them. I have two school aged children therefore I had two purses, one purse was transferred to the school the other was not! 2 emails later with no response from the company I made a complaint. They did not address my complaint at all about why one purse was successfully transferred but the other one was not and basically told me that I was not entitled to refund (which I never requested) as it was my fault that I failed to get any parental correspondence from the local authority? (how that is my fault is beyond me). They stated they would now charge me £10 for the refund which now took the purse to below £10 so I won't get the remainder either! (Never understood why companies are allowed to steal your money for not providing a service). This was per their terms and conditions and the email alluded to the fact that if the local authority was still their customer I would not have been charged the £10! (How I have any influence over the decision making of my local authority tenders is, again, beyond me but, from a ethical point of view, I should not be penalised for other people's decisions). I have checked with the FCA and this company is registered with them so I am now in the process of obtaining a deadlock letter so I can complain to the ombudsman.
Avoid this company like the plague.
My kids school changed supplier at the end of summer term away from squid. My son had £17 left in his account , I have asked 4 times over the summer for the money left to be refunded. They eventually replied today and said I needed to pay a £10 surcharge because I did not inform them in time.
The local council cancelled the contract with them and the last day I could get a refund at no cost apparently was the 31st July.
The school term ended towards the end of July, and I was informed by word of mouth by my son on the last day of term, that I should ask for a refund. I basically had about a week to ask for a refund.
Feel like I have been robbed . Does not seem fair, admittedly the council are complicit in this as well. As they should have given us better warning.
Maybe they cancelled the contract because the squid customer service non existent.
It’s been more than a week, am having an issue with top up my son’s catering account. I am getting error message both on app and desktop version. This is creating a problem for my son to have his lunch at school. The customer service team doesn’t respond to emails. They don’t have a contact number.
Used this company for school dinners and despite confirming I'm due a £119.98 refund they use endless delay tactics and don't refund the money.
Customer services email never responds, and the troubleshooter on here who says 'email me' magically goes on annual leave as soon as he says he'll deal with your issue.
Save yourself a lot of trouble and go straight to the fraud team at your bank as there is very little chance of ever getting your money back from this company.
Contacted squid to ask for refund because he was charged for food at school that he did not have.
Tried twice to communicate with squid via the ‘contact us’ within their app. Had no response to date.
Almost a month ago I emailed sQuid requesting a refund and close account.
They’ve seemed to of closed the account but not refunded me.
I’ve send a few more emails in the hope someone would tell me what’s going on.
I just want my money back

Rubbish! By the end of school year in July 2023 I requested a refund as there was some money left on my daughter’s account. I only got the confirmation of this refund being processed on 4/09/23, but to this day 16/09/23 the money hasn’t reached my account. I contacted the customer service twice, but nobody even bothered to get back to me. Scammers!
