I made a £50 withdrawal funds request as my school is no longer using this company ONLY when I checked did I realise the withdrawal had been refused and I had to email them direct. Reason for refusal was unclear but I think it’s due to the high value … £50 is not high value and they should have emailed or called me as a deadline to get this money back is approaching. Feels like a scam 😡
Was refunded money from a school trip, and requested £150 refunding. It's taken 14 days to receive a refund but only been given £50, not the full £150. No response to my email as of yet!! I have more money to refund but unsure if I'll ever get it!!@@

Nothing but problems and support is slow. My son didn't eat a thing from the night before dinner to coming home from school next day (because squid was not working and he's not one to speak out) so sat starving all day. Cant use cash or card so no help! school say contact squid but still no reply! nothing but problems
Terrible customer service. Take days to get back to you and when they do it is gibberish.
App is crap you can’t change daily limit for lunch money…you have to ring the school because they don’t have enough to do!
What a bunch of clowns. As someone else already said what’s wrong with a simple debit card system. Most kids have them now.
Extremely pathetic appalling and disgusting App. This month in less than 4 days five times 15 pounds are taken from my account against my daughters which they clearly have no clue except two times the topped up not five.
The funny thing is now the money is taken from my account against SQuid whenever the balance is less than 5 while previously they would inform me via email. I’m going to pursue this with school

The website doesn’t make clear that payments are treated as cash advances like ATM withdrawals so my credit report has been given a negative mark and reduced my score by -130 points.
Don’t use credit cards to make payments on this website.
Unfortunately their info from Experian is just not true, see below taken from the ClearScore website:

Waiting on £100 refund to be emailed on 12th of September that will take 10 working days it is now 1st of October and been told they have had problems with refunds and will be sorted on the 7th then have to wait 10 days. There is something really wrong with this company loads of people having same refund issues they just don't want to give money back. Stay far away from this company
Emailed this company for a refund on my childs dinner account. This was over 3 weeks ago. Still no response from sQuid.

Terrible service. After putting money on my son's account The money comes out of my bank account but it goes into pending for 4/5 hours sometimes longer on squid account.

I emailed today about a refund and got a response in minutes. Very efficient and the tone of the email was friendly as well as timely.
I raised a tech query with customer service via email. To my surprise, I received a response and the tech query was resolved within five minutes (yes, 5 minutes). Based on that experience I can only recommend Squid Card.
Everytime I use this app it locks me out for 30 mins, it never recognises my password it's shocking. Worst app I've ever used for this kind of thing

Diabolical - customer service that doesn't respond, an opaque front end that just doesn't work - recently paid £25 in, which has passed into some kind of limbo and resulted in my son missing out on an important school trip. School have been useless, sQuid have been useless - all in all, a nightmare - and £25 out of pocket.

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Squidcard, and I must say my experience was quite positive. Despite some negative reviews floating around regarding their refund process, my encounter with them was nothing short of excellent.
Upon my son's departure from school this summer, I initially faced some challenges getting in touch with their customer support through email. Frustrated, I decided to dig a little deeper and found the contact details of John (jgallacher at squidcard.com). I reached out to him, expressing my concerns about the lack of response.
To my surprise, John promptly replied, explaining that the summer period brings in a high volume of inquiries, but assured me that they do eventually address all concerns. True to his word, my patience paid off as I received a timely response. I provided the necessary details from my son and the school, and John efficiently arranged a refund for me.
Although I did receive email responses confirming the refund a bit later than expected, the important thing was that Squidcard delivered on their promise. The whole process was handled professionally and courteously, and I felt reassured by their commitment to resolving customer concerns.
In light of my positive experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Squidcard for their reliable services and commendable customer support. Sometimes, a bit of patience can lead to a resolution that exceeds expectations. Kudos to Squidcard for their dedication to customer satisfaction!
Firstly, impossible to communicate with. Hide behind apparent T&Cs which are just their excuse to charge unassuming parents who were forced to use their services in the first place. Phantom charges to my child's account with money being taken. And when questioned through the customer service. Blamed the school and the school were completely unaware of how the system worked or how to check transactions due to squid being in control. Now owe me money but want to charge me £10 to give me my money back? Where as they owe me just shy of £30.
Preying on the working class and financially challenged.
Potentially a very good facility to have in schools and if you are a parent who has a huge salary excess you will no doubt be happy with the functionality of this app. However, many parents will not be in such a fortuitously prosperous financial situation in the current economic climate.
I have been in email contact with sQuid and apparently each school rather than sQuid has the facility to set spending limits and can adjust the value of the Top Up facility.
However, I can't remember my sons' school making it clear that they could make these adjustments. This is a pity as I might have had a better experience with this app.
On reflection, we have decided as a family that we seem to prefer an old-fashioned facility called 'cash' which allows us to have greater control of our finances.
Our children now know that all purchases have to happen the evening before school.
Making sandwiches etc. at home is proving more useful for us. However, I fully accept that other users may actually prefer the sQuid facility.
