We booked a trip with South American Vacations to visit Galapagos and Maachu Picchu in December 2016. We had 11 flights in 12 days. We spent most of our time in the airport or getting transferred to and from the airport.
There was one day where we could have flown from Guayaquil to Lima instead had to go back to Quito and wait for 9 hours before boarding and go to Lima. Poor planning when they call themselves experts.

Also another fiasco with us prepaying for the Tip to the Coral 1 Crew on the Galapagos trip which they said they never received and were asking us to pay on the last day of the trip.

Flawless scheduling by agency, kind attention to special requests and needs, prompt pick-up for transfers, quality hotels... I could not have been more pleased.

Starting with the arrival in Santiago de Chile, we were picked up by a guide and a driver wearing a tie and in a very nice van. Very friendly. The hotels were great. They exceeded our expectations. We felt at home. They even squeezed in a day trip to Vina del Mar. We loved Chile and Eastern Island, awesome trip!

Houston - Quito - Galapagos: bad scheduling: arrived Quito hotel 105 a.m.
wakeup call at 4 a.m.; hotel 45 min. drive from airport.
Houston - Chicago- Vancouver: not a logical routing; not enough time in Houston to make connection; had to rebook but got a more logical routing via LA to Vancouver.
Tours / local transportation / local guides-drivers: all good

From beginning to end, every detail was perfectly taken care of. We are very grateful to this company for making our experience extraordinary.

The tours and guides were excellent! Service was good except in the Hotel Andina Classic Miraflores Centro in Lima. We make two collect telephone calls to US due to unexpected circumstances and it was accepted by the US. The Hotel in Lima charged us $ 83.00 US dollars for not letting them know we make the international calls. I tried to talk to the Manager of the Hotel and he was not present in the early morning when we checked out! Not very professional in handling customers,

I have used South American Vacations a few times for my clients and they have always come through. Both Martha and Alan really know the area and are willing to do whatever it takes to make our clients happy.

I really enjoyed this trip. South American Vacations made it more enjoyable in many ways. We loved how all of our rides and many of our meals were prearranged and were absolutely excellent. The guides were friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. We also felt the trip was perfectly planned and were ecstatic that we could arrange it in the order we needed it arranged. They even helped with the wedding I needed to attend in the beginning of the trip. I would certainly plan another trip with this company and actually intend to explore Boliva, chile and Argentina in December of 2017.

What a wonderful company to work with. My boss wanted to take a last minute family vacation to Chile and Peru. With only one week to arrange, Martha put together an amazing 8 night, 9 day trip for them. All I told her was what kind of activities he was looking to do and she was able to handle everything professionally and efficiently. I would recommend them to anybody.

They took care of everything from start to finish, all by email! They accommodated all of my customized requests willingly. I was very vocal to SA of scheduling an astrological tour in the Atacama at the observatories, which was the primary reason for going to Chile for my 30th bday. SA told me it would be ok and schedule with the Resort staff. We arrived on Sunday and left on Friday, with the only available Astro-tour being on Saturday. Which I had to find out myself because the Resort staff did not know and directed me to Google. Easter island was a bonus. It was still a amazing vacay but I wouldn't have booked the vacation to Chile if I knew I wasn't going to be able to visit the observatories.

This was my second trip with South American Vacations, I traveled to Easter Island for a three night stay and had previously traveled with SA Vacations to Machu Piccu and the Galapagos Islands. All their trips are well planned from beginning to end. Martha and Alan Cohen are wonderful to work with, the hotels and tours on Easter Island were outstanding! All the work is done for you, you just sit back and enjoy the trip. I ran into a minor glitch in Santiago, I accidentally left a piece of important paperwork at home. I was able to get Martha on the phone and she immediately faxed to the hotel. Because I was traveling alone, the hotel staff made sure they saw the credentials of the drivers picking me up, and they were all very professional. Easter Island was a dream, and I am glad Martha and Alan could book for me at the last minute. I will be back to South America soon, and I can assure you, Martha and Alan will plan this trip as well.

Perfect vacation with good flights and someone to meet us at each destination. Their guides were the best you could ever imagine. I highly recommend South American Vacations.

We enjoyed our trip to Peru and the Galápagos Islands that was organized by South American vacations. We enjoyed every minute. We loved our private tours. They were very accommodating, pleasant and knowledgable.
When planning the trip, SA vacations were vet helpful and took their time explaining all the details of the trip.

Flights were a little close together but overall great planning and vacation. The contracted tours in Chile, Peru, and Ecuador were excellent.

All our excursions and transports were ontime professional and unbelievable. Highly recommend!!
We couldnt have asked any more from any company. We took the machu picchu and amazon trip and it was a trip of a lifetime.
Our itenary was complicated and customizeded and it wss executed flawlessly.
Our groups were between 2 and 10 people and the guides were great.
Thank you for making it so we could just enjoy and not worry about a thing.
