I was anxious beforehand and because of this I'd put off having my cataracts done for a long time. There was no need to be so anxious. Mr Deshmukh put me at ease and he and his team were excellent. I will be having my other eye done soon with Mr. Deshmukh and he has made me feel so confident that I won't be anxious this time.

Prior to my cataract surgery I had worn glasses or contact lenses for 65 years. With a very high plus prescription and extreme astigmatism, I had accepted managing poor eyesight was part of my life. However, as my cataracts developed, and I realised I could no longer see a computer screen or read a novel without wearing prescription 2.5 reading glasses over my tri - focal glasses or contact lenses, I knew I had to take some action.
Being desperately anxious, and because poor eyesight was better than none at all, I phoned Moorfields for advice. They put me in touch with Mr Rajesh Deshmukh, and I could not have had a better referral. Right from the very beginning he was patient and empathic, giving me all the time I needed to ask my questions, and searching for the right kind of lenses to suit my complicated prescription and lifestyle.
On the day of surgery I was extremely apprehensive, but Mr Deshmukh and his team reassured and calmed me all the way through. The procedure was completely pain free, and both eyes were finished in half an hour, my sight improving from the start.
A week afterwards I now do not need glasses or contact lenses for distance vision, and can drive again. I still need a plus 1 prescription for reading or computer work, but Mr Deshmukh had warned me that would probably be the case, although he also told me the improvement in sight continues for up to a month, sometimes three, so here's hoping.
I would absolutely recommend Mr Deshmukh and his team for any type of cataract surgery.

Mr Deshmukh did a great job with the cataract surgery on my right eye. I had issues with the eye that made the surgery more challenging than normal. The outcome appears to be excellent with an improvement in vision beyond expectations.

I initially had a consultation with Mr Rajesh Deshmukh when he discussed with me at length the. risks and benefits of cataract surgery in both eyes. I decided to proceed with cataract removal and took the advice from Mr Deshmukh to go ahead with EDOF toric lenses which would give good distance and intermediate vision. My astigmatism to be corrected at the same time.

I have been short sighted from an early age and started wearing glasses for driving at the age of seventeen.

However, I was made aware by my optician a couple of years ago that I was developing cataracts in both eyes and had been given stronger lenses. Unfortunately, late last year to my surprise, I developed halos in both eyes whilst night driving when oncoming cars were on full beam and couldn’t read subtitles on our larger TV screen. My optician then recommended cataract removal.

My bilateral cataract surgery took place in Mr Deshmukh’s clinic at Moorfields Private Eye Hospital on 20th February. He and his team were very professional and friendly and put me at ease as I was very anxious before the operation. The procedure was very quick and pain free. Instantly, I had clear vision with no side effects. I had to have eye drops for a month after the operation which is usual practice. It has opened up a new world for me and I no longer need glasses for driving and only require +1 for reading. Mr Deshmukh has told me it takes about three months for the eyes to settle down.

Mr Deshmukh is a caring, excellent consultant ophthalmic surgeon and I have nothing but praise for him. I would highly recommend him and I have already done so.

I recently underwent Cataract surgery performed by Mr Deshmukh. I admit - before surgery i was anxious, however, i had no reason to be, the whole experience was seamless. Mr Deshmukh and his team were so calm and reassuring that my concerns were greatly relieved. I am both astonished and delighted with my new clarity of vision, as a result i am once again confident to drive at night.

Cataract Eye surgery in both eyes. Doctor is very Professional and I am recovering well. No need of Glasses which I have worn since Grade 1 in school.
I am 53 years old and now suddenly feel a world of difference with this new eye sight that gives me freedom of not wearing Spectacles.

I had cataracts on both eyes, had worn glasses for 27 years.
I decided to have the lens replacement and chose Mr Deshmukh to do the surgery having read good reviews.
I had both eyes done at the same time.
Although I found it very stressful Mr. Deshmukh was very relaxed and encouraging. He certainly put me at my ease.
The procedure took about 40 minutes and was painless. I went in at 1pm and left at 3.30pm.
Within two days I could read and drive and I no longer need to wear glasses. Having both eyes done at once was brilliant as I didn’t need to go though it all again, and everything was so much quicker. I’d certainly recommend having both done at the same time.
I would also recommend Mr. Deshmukh, he did a brilliant job and I’ve had no problems.

My bilateral cataract surgery was carried out by Mr Deshmukh 5 weeks ago. Not only is my vision extraordinarily good now but the entire experience could not have been improved upon. Mr Deshmukh has excellent clinical, as well as surgical, skills. At each interaction, he listened to my questions and concerns, and responded with appropriately detailed explanations and with kindness. I was also impressed by the efficiency and courtesy of the members of his team.

Required cataract surgery on my left eye due to an earlier Vitro- rectomy procedure I had earlier this year. I cannot fault the service and professionalism of Dr Deshmukh. He understood my condition and took into account my previous eye history of lasix.surgery I had done early in the 90's. The op itself was quick pain free and I'm very pleased with the outcome / vision correction with edof lense fitted to correct my prescription. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

I had my second cataract operation and my experience with the Consultant was excellent. The result was a great improvement.

Very prompt and very polite reception. He clearly explained what to expect on the operation front and yet the whole experience was relaxed and i felt treated as a person not as a statistic. The operation was a great success. Very impressed

My left eye had very high astigmatism and even with glasses, my vision wasn't perfect.
After surgery for the complex cataract operation, I wasn't expecting the level of improvement I now have for distance vision with no glasses.
The procedure took less than half an hour and pain free, all aspects of the operation explained in detail and was encouraged to ask questions if anything wasn't clear.
I have no reservations in recommending Mr Rajesh Deshmukh when it comes to eye care.

I attended Dr Deshmukh's clinic recently with what appeared to be a spot on my eye. He was thorough in his diagnosis, when I had follow up questions my emails were responded to very quickly. I wouldn't hesitate going to see Dr D again.

I attended Mr Rajesh Deshmukh clinic on the 27th October 2022 for a rather challanging cataract operation I had no vision in my right eye at all but i had every confidence in Mr Deshmukh. He made me feel at ease at all times. After surgery i could not thank him enough, in my opinion he has given me my life back. I cannot thank him enough. I would like to thank all the staff as i was well looked after and felt very safe. I cannot recommend him enough. I am hoping to be under his care when i return to have my other cataract removed. Mr Deshmukh kept me well informed as well.

Good advise and gave enough information for me to reflect on which helped me make up my mind. I opted for the trifocal lens following my cataract operation and I am very happy with the outcome. Very well looked after by Mr. Deshmukh and his team.

After explaining the procedure carefully and patiently and discussing lens options, together with suggesting treating dry eyes and Blepharitis before surgery, to achieve the best outcome, Mr Deshmukh performed Bilateral Cataract Surgery with EDOF lens implants on me, three week's ago.

The surgery was pain free and Mr Deshmukh was exceedingly reassuring throughout, explaining everything both before and during surgery. Almost immediately post surgery I felt I had landed on a bright new sparkling Planet! Everywhere I looked was bathed in a bright white light, the depth of colours amazing and the depth of focus exciting. I never dreamed of such an astonishing outcome! Now for the first time in 25 years I can read my books, enjoy beautiful scenery and play my keyboard (a more recent interest) - all glasses free! The only downfall from all this is that I can also see the dust!!

Words seem inadequate at such times, but “Thank you” Mr Deshmukh (from all of us), for your expertise, your time, care and commitment in wanting the absolute very best outcome for all your patients. Your beautiful work has transformed my life and indeed as it has for so many before me.
