Great Doctor and great outcome.

What an absolute game changer! Mr Deshmukh was recommended by a friend who required complex cataract surgery. Aged 47, my eyesight wasn't terrible but I required glasses for reading which meant for my job I spent a lot of time taking my glasses on and off and having not worn glasses for most of my life, I hated the fact that I couldn't read without them.
Mr Deshmukh listened and advised me on the best type of lenses to correct my vision whilst addressing my cataracts. I was fairly apprehensive about the surgery however Mr Deshmukh and his team put me at ease, the procedure was quick and straight forward, the recovery was smooth and by the next day I could read without glasses! Amazing!

I found a consultant very honest and knowledgeable. I had excellent service very good advice. I found him to be very good at this job.

Boom. Wow. My vision is so much better now. I had fairly serious cataracts and astigmatism, and Dr. Deshmukh has replaced my lenses. He selected fantastic lenses for my eyes and adjusted the focus points differently for each eye. Now my near, intermediate and far vision is perfect and I don't need glasses for reading, using my computer, or for driving. Colours are so sharp and the world seems brighter. Thanks to Dr. Deshmukh and his team at Moorfield's Hospital.

I have one “good” eye and one lazy eye, and both needed cataract surgery. In the lead up to the procedure I was extremely anxious, simply because I rely almost entirely on one eye for day to day vision. Mr Deshmukh approached my concerns with real understanding and sympathy. His professionalism and clear explanation of the options put me completely at ease.
I had expected each eye to be treated separately, but on his advice both were operated on at the same time. It turned out to be absolutely the right decision. The whole experience was calm, efficient and surprisingly stress free. Mr Deshmukh was supported by a professional and friendly team — from the anaesthetist to his excellent secretary Paula, and the nurses involved at every stage: tests, scans, pre op assessment and the operation itself.
Both the pre and post operative consultations with Mr Deshmukh were first class, with exactly the right amount of information, explanation and reassurance.
Having both eyes done together meant the recovery and medication phase lasted just four weeks, rather than two separate eight week cycles. The post op medication was comprehensive (the first two weeks involved 11 drops a day), but I was able to pass the driving sight test within 24 hours of surgery. My medium range vision returned quickly, and my close range vision is improving steadily. Reading is now easy with simple, inexpensive single strength reading glasses.
Moorfields itself was excellent, with everything running on time — apart from the day of surgery, when things were delayed because the anaesthetist had a puncture on the way to New Cavendish Street. Even then, there were plenty of drinks, snacks and updates, so no real complaints. These things happen… probably a pothole.
Overall, I can recommend Mr Deshmukh — and the Moorfields team — without hesitation.

I had cataract surgery for my both eyes at the same time. Sedation and local anaesthetics were used and it went very quickly; from the time I laid down until I came out from the surgery, it was only about one hour. I don’t remember much about the surgery, because of the sedation, it went very quickly.
I was able to see immediately after the surgery and went home within one hour. I followed the given instructions and my recovery was very quick. Within one week or so I was able to go back to my normal activities. I am definitely glad that I have both eyes done at the same time.
Now, after four weeks of surgery, my sight is much improved, for both near and far. One of the significant improvements after the surgery is that the uncomfortable feeling/strain that I had been feeling for ages has gone. The lens used for my eyes also corrected my astigmatism. The choice of the lens was perfect for me. I definitely recommend the surgery if you are wondering to have or not. I was wondering, actually until the day before the surgery, but now, I am very happy that I had it done.

When visiting London from the US, I had an emergency with one of my eyes which was swollen and bloody, and I could not see out of it. The Cleveland Clinic in London referred me to Moorfields Private Eye Hospital. Dr. Deshmukh saw me the same day. After examination and tests, he diagnosed my problem and prescribed drops. I saw Dr. Deshmukh for follow up appointments as well. My eye was greatly improved, and I continued the same treatment back in the US.
Both Dr. Deshmukh and his assistant Paula Jessup were kind, pleasant, and efficient. They put me at ease and acted swiftly. I would recommend them highly.

I was extremely apprehensive about having cataract surgery. Mr Deshmukh explained the various options and implications. Following the operation my vision is very good indeed and I’m able to start again some hobbies and activities. It’s been a very positive and transformative experience.

I'm more than happy to recomend Mr Deshmukh. The whole process from the initial consultation, through an assessment of visual acuity and measurement of intra-ocular pressure to the actual operation itself was friendly, supportive and highly competent and in my case doubly succesful. The fact that all my contacts with him and his team were at Bishops Wood Hospital, a small private hospital in Northwood, made my life a lot easier than it would have been going to Moorfields in London. Mr Deshmukh did cataract surgery on both my eyes four years ago. This week I had some laser treatment as one eye was not seeing clearly. Almost immediately I could see clearly again which seems like a miracle but is actually due to skill and professionalism.

Being informed that I required cataract surgery on both eyes initially filled me with fear. However, during my first meeting and throughout the entire process at Moorfields, Mr. Deshmukh made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The operation was completed in just 45 minutes, and the next day, my vision was perfect. I could legally drive within two days, though I waited until the fifth day to do so. I would like to thank my eye surgeon Mr Rajesh Deskmukh for performing my bilateral IOL's surgery, yes both eyes on the same day. I am now 100% spectacle FREE as he fitted me with multi focal Toric IOL's.

In November 2025 I had cataract surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital. My surgeon, Mr. Raj Deshmukh put me at ease on my initial consultation, was very reassuring and helped dispel my worries and concern as I have a prosthetic right eye so only have vision in my left. He also explained in great detail all the available lens options and together we decided on the enhanced mono focal toric lens. The operation itself was quick and painless and I am so pleased and delighted with the outcome! Mr. Deshmukh is an amazing surgeon and a lovely human being who really listens to you and inspires confidence and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering cataract surgery. I cannot thank him enough and thank you too to his practice manager Paula Jessop who was so helpful and available throughout the process.

I received great care and attention during my immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery at the beginning of November 2025. All the options were carefully explained with no hurry or pressure to make a choice. I was absolutely petrified in having been told that I needed cataract eye surgery on both my eyes. Mr Deshmukh put me at ease at my initial consultation and throughout the procedure at Moorfields. The surgery was completed within 45 minutes and I was able to see perfectly the following day. I was legal to drive within 2 days but delayed this until day 5. Would thoroughly recommend him and his team.

I’ve been wearing contact lenses for over 40 years due to severe short-sightedness. When I developed cataracts, I got in touch with Mr Deshmukh but the prospect of cataract surgery was daunting. However, from my very first consultation, I was struck by his professionalism, expertise, and calming reassurance.
