Awful service NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY
I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Motion4Rent (Booking Ref: 1000040006) was so poor that I felt I needed to warn other disabled travellers. I was actually shocked!
I booked a mobility scooter months in advance and even changed the booking in April to a model with a removable battery, which Motion4Rent confirmed in writing. Despite this, the scooter delivered was the wrong model, with a sealed battery, no charger, and delivered six hours late. My friend had to stay inside all day waiting, and I was left unable to leave the apartment for an entire day of my holiday.
Delivery instructions were ignored, communication was chaotic, and the local provider repeatedly claimed to have contacted me when they hadn’t. Motion4Rent relayed these false statements to me several times. I was then pressured into accepting another scooter I didn’t feel safe using.
Later, the collection was agreed for 6:30pm on 10 August — they simply did not turn up. I had to rearrange everything again and accept a 9am collection the next day because I had no choice.
Despite all of this, Motion4Rent refused any refund or compensation, saying the service was “completed,” even though I spent large parts of my holiday stuck indoors trying to fix their mistakes.
Disabled travellers deserve reliability, honesty, and respect. I did not receive any of these, and I cannot recommend them
Update:
I’ve now seen other reviews mentioning the same local provider I dealt with, Ben
Butterfields. Motion4Rent is still using him, despite the false statements, pressure, missed collection, and delivery mistakes I experienced.
This shows my situation wasn’t a one off — it’s part of a pattern. I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so shocked by the service and the fact that this provider is still being used that I felt I needed to warn others.
Update: After informing Motion4Rent that another customer had reported almost identical issues with the same local provider (Ben Butterfields, Málaga), their response was simply to tell me they “cannot give me what I want” and that they are closing my case.
No acknowledgement of the pattern, no investigation update, and no concern shown for the fact that multiple disabled customers have reported the same behaviour from the same provider over different years.
I am updating my review because this confirms that Motion4Rent is aware of these complaints and is still choosing to work with him. Closing my case without addressing the evidence or the risks to future customers is extremely disappointing.

All was good arranged!
I had a accident in Portugal and needed a wheelchair for the rest of our holiday. I found Motion4Rent with help of Google. Site is clear and with a few clicks and ofcourse left my info and payment all was set. I used the pick up point at Porto, they helped me very well. I would advise you to connect with Mention4rent! Not only for wheelchairs ofcourse.

Agreed to dates they couldn’t do
Organised to have a scooter picked up and picked up for a few days round Florence. My partner went to the store on the morning of pick up and no one there. A poster outside said it was closed due to holiday. Checked with the company and advised my booking wasn’t starting too 25th August. When we wouldn’t be in Florence. Email stated the dates I requested and this was confirmation email.

Didn’t receive the wheelchair
I had a very, very bad experience with this service. I requested a wheelchair with an elevating leg rest to be delivered to my hotel at 6:30 PM for my dad.
Two hours before the scheduled delivery, they called and apologized, saying the wheelchair I requested was unavailable and that they only had a standard wheelchair. I agreed to the standard one and asked them to send it to the hotel because I urgently needed it that same evening.
Unfortunately, there was no proper communication from the provider, and I later found out that they had already closed at 3 PM. Instead of delivering it that day, they told me it would only be delivered the following day.
The entire purpose of ordering the wheelchair was to help my dad get into it and move him to his room that evening. Because of their poor communication and failure to deliver, the service was completely useless to me.
What makes it worse is that they charged me and did not refund my money.
This was extremely unprofessional and, in my opinion, not an honest way to deal with customers. If you are considering using this service, please be very careful. I would strongly recommend going directly to a pharmacy or another reliable provider instead of relying on this website.
