On arrival we found slug pellets in the garden which could have been lethal to dogs and children ..The property is very sub-standard in our opinion . Linen stained and quite frankly should have been checked before we arrived .
The gate at the top of the stairs was broken and a young child could have fallen down the staircase.
We would never use this company again as they have not handled our complaint in a proper manner

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We pride ourselves on both our service and the standard of our properties, so when we hear that a guest’s stay did not meet expectations, we make it our priority to carefully review the concerns raised and ensure we address them appropriately.
Regarding the slug pellets, we completely understand how concerning this must have been, particularly when travelling with dogs and children. The property owner has confirmed that the pellets used were manufactured after 2020 and are considered pet-friendly by vets.
However, they completely understood the worry this must have caused you, so offered to cover the cost of a precautionary veterinary visit at the time, which we hope provided some reassurance.
That said, we appreciate that this was still an unpleasant experience, and the owner has since instructed their gardener not to use slug pellets in the future to avoid any similar concerns for upcoming guests. Please accept our sincere apologies for the worry caused.
In relation to the condition of the linen, this is certainly not the standard we aim to provide. Providing photos would have helped with our feedback to the housekeeping team however we will be addressing this with them nonetheless to ensure that all items are thoroughly checked prior to guest arrival.
With regards to the stair gate, we understand your concerns. The gate is intended as a dog gate to prevent pets from entering the bedrooms; however, we do take safety feedback seriously and will review this with the owner to ensure it is secure and fit for purpose.
We want all our guests to have a lovely experience when visiting our properties, and we believe our team assisted as best as possible during your stay. We hope you and your family enjoyed the area and were able to make the most of the lovely weather.
Best wishes
