I’m writing this review to commend Christina. My experience with her was awesome, he has a good customer relations, and responds to my queries with great enthusiasm and quick feedback. She’s so helpful and good at what she does.

Eleanor was fantastic, I am a pensioner and not very in touch with technology but she supported me every step of the way through my new tenancy, on the end of the phone at any time to advise and guide me through the process. From my initial viewing to collecting my keys she has been a support the whole way through.

My experience with John Shepherd has been extremely disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable.

From the start of my tenancy, I reported serious maintenance problems in the property, including a visibly deteriorating and potentially unsafe balcony floor, along with multiple internal doors that do not function properly and other unresolved defects.
These issues were not minor. The balcony in particular was already in poor condition before I moved in and was acknowledged by staff members who physically inspected it. I was told that repairs and contractor visits would be arranged.

Despite this, over a period of several months, nothing was ever properly resolved.
I repeatedly chased these issues through every available channel, emails, phone calls, SMS messages, in-person visits, and their maintenance reporting system. Each time I received either no response, vague acknowledgements, or assurances that contractors would be in contact. Those contractors never arrived, and the repairs were never completed.
Meanwhile, the condition of the balcony continued to worsen, to the point where it became visibly damaged and caused genuine concern about safety. Even with clear photographic evidence and repeated escalation from my side, no effective action was taken.

What stands out most is the complete lack of follow-through. Issues are acknowledged but not resolved. Promises are made but not kept. Communication drops off without explanation. Tenants are left repeatedly chasing the same problems for months on end.
This is not what I would expect from a professional letting agency managing residential property. The service delivered in this case fell far below a reasonable standard of property management.

I would strongly advise any prospective tenant to consider carefully before renting through this agency and to be prepared for significant delays and poor responsiveness if maintenance issues arise.

I have dealt with Gita Patel of John Shepherds for many years. She is always polite, helpful and willing to answer any query I may have. She never fails to return my calls.

I wish all managing agents were like Gita - efficient, responsive, caring, detailed, communicative and client focussed. An effortless relationship that others would do well to aspire to. Thank you.

Christina Tzemanaki. They're consistently responsive any time I've had a question or concern, I've heard back quickly. Maintenance issues have been handled efficiently and without hassle, which makes a big difference day-to-day. Throughout everything, they've been professional and communicative, keeping me informed at every step. Couldn't ask for more, highly recommend!

I dealt with Christina in customer service at John Shepherd, Birmingham. Christina did an amazing job organising some refurbishment work at one of my apartments, starting with specifying what needed to be done, obtaining quotes and then finally overseeing the refurbishment work to completion.
Definitely a five star experience!

My property manager (Lara White) is always excellent and very responsive to my queries. They manage everything for me and quickly resolve my issues.

We recently moved in to a rental property and had issues with no hot water. The problem was rectified straight away. Mia was very helpful in resolving the matter.

Aleemah Aziz has dealt with each tenant query or request for repairs most efficiently; confirming each time what is agreed as the works required and then following up and confirming that works are complete; sometimes with photographic evidence. Excellent service throughout. Thank you Aleemah.
