ADHD and ASD diagnosis…

We recently had an ASD and ADHD diagnosis for both of our sons, and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, genuinely helpful and compassionate.
Navigating this process can feel overwhelming, but they were exceptionally patient with our sons and us and took the time to truly listen to our concerns. Their expertise and insight gave us so much reassurance.
What we appreciated most was that the appointments never felt rushed and we felt at ease. They gave us all the time we needed to talk, ask questions and process everything.

I had 2 children seem by Held Health and have a varied response between the two children. I feel the service has too much pressure to meet deadlines, and is not giving a 'private' experience for NHS patients, it is giving a rushed through, not so thorough service.

Slow replies via email but great in person

Response time at the beginning with emails was very slow and bit frustrating, im guessing due to the amount of people on the waiting list. But the video appointments and the in person appointments were great. Everyone was very understanding, patient and easy to talk too. It made a big difference to putting us at ease around the whole situation.

ADHD assessment achieved - communication not great

The initial online QB Check was incredibly frustrating for us; I can only imagine how frustrating it was for our son. We followed all the instructions on how to carry it out but it kept going through the process for several minutes before saying that the check was unsuccessful. There was no explanation as to why, nor guidance about how to check whether it was to do with the computer or the software. There were no guidelines on the spec required for the PC, but after several months of getting no reply or satisfactory answers from Held Health, in the end we borrowed another computer and tried it on there - and it finally worked!
After the expected several months wait, the assessment appointments for ADHD and Autism were all conducted professionally, and the report has been helpful. However, in the run up to these we had questions which we emailed to the info / rtc email addresses. On several occasions we either got no reply, or extremely late replies.
We would also expect the organisation to have more resources prepared to help young people who are extremely socially anxious or demand avoidant. These did not seem to be available, and we had to prompt them for eg. photographs of rooms, clinicians, buildings etc.
We have still not got to the end of the process, but we hope the outcomes help us to get some progress towards supporting our son - but it has been very challenging.

We are particularly sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with the QB Check. We understand how frustrating it must have been for both you and your son to repeatedly encounter issues without clear explanations or timely support, especially when this contributed to delays in progressing through the assessment pathway.

We also recognise your concerns regarding communication. The delays in responding to emails and providing updates fell short of the standard we aim to deliver. As demand for our services has grown significantly, we have been investing heavily in improving the patient experience. This includes recruiting additional support staff, reopening dedicated phone lines, and undertaking a full review of our communication strategy and processes to ensure families receive more timely responses and clearer updates throughout their journey with us.

Your comments regarding resources for young people who experience significant social anxiety or demand avoidance are also incredibly valuable. We appreciate this feedback and will be sharing it with our clinical and operational teams as we continue to develop the support and preparation materials available to families before appointments.

We would welcome the opportunity to better understand your experience and see whether there is anything further we can do to support you and your son. A member of our team will be reaching out directly to you to discuss your feedback and any outstanding concerns.

Once on the pathway to be assessed the process was brilliant with structured time frames and clear explanations of accessing the online video link appointments and face to face appointment well organised and structured
The only feedback would be is to notify earlier when you have received all the required docummentation prior to assessments
I will also like to say Beth was brilliant with my Daughter and found her assessments professional and thorough and how she noted things that related to ASD that I didn't even realise
The follow up,support, networks and signposting information has been great and receiving the report timely, highly recommend using Held health

Excellent company

Amazing from start to
Finish only downfall is communication but give allowances for how busy they are. Once appointments sent its pretty much plain sailing with no hiccups. Both assessors fantastic, polite and good at putting child and parent at ease.
