Gives the impression of a scam

I wish I had checked Trustpilot before ordering! I had to return some dance shoes as they were too small, but Royal Mail has been unable to deliver the return, even though I used the return address provided by DD.

When I reached out to Dance Direct I was informed by Jasmine that it's my issue to take up with Royal Mail, not Dance Direct's. I feel this is unreasonable as I followed the return instructions provided, and the parcel is currently at the depot in Newton Abbot.

I am sorry you had an unfortunate experience with us. The Customer Service team tried to locate your parcel as we had no proof of delivery from Royal Mail. In spite of this a refund was issued to you when we were made aware of the situation.

No refund received

UPDATE....REFUND FINALLY RECEIVED

I returned my order of white split sole jazz shoes on Thursday 20th November via Royal Mail. I noticed i hadn't received my refund so I checked my tracking. It says that my parcel was retained at Newton Abbot DO on Saturday 22nd Nov and it looks like its still there!! Can someone please let me know ASAP what is going on and when I will receive my refund? I have sent an email and completed a form on your website but had no response!! Thanks

Reply to their online rep

After writing my review the online rep answered “just email dance direct and they can help” I have done this they haven’t even replied with an automatic response they have not and will not ever get back to me. My daughter’s costumes are unwearable!!! Their competition is in 1 week and I’m £300 out of pocket and need to purchase different costumes from a real company!!!! DO NOT USE THIS UNRELIABLE FAKE COMPANY!!!

I am sorry you are still awaiting a reply from the customer service team, be assured they will respond as soon as they can. We offer a 28 day no quibble returns policy to allow customers time to try on their goods when they have been delivered and return them with a free Royal Mail returns label if they are not suitable. The goods are then refunded within 14 days of receipt. If you have not already done so, please do this as soon as you can so you will not be out of pocket. We wish your daughters every success in their upcoming competition.

Problems with returns process

Initital delivery very quick, but I had to return the shoes I'd ordered because they didn't fit. The Royal Mail tracking says they were delivered back to Dance Direct on 19 September, and Dance Direct claim they process returns within 14 days, but I've had no communication from them. No response to my chasing email either - not even an automated acknowledgement.

Terrible

I should have looked here before I ordered! Sizes not correct, returned orders and have tracked them to see Dance Direct have received them. Emailed over a week ago to see where they are but haven’t heard back. Have chased. Won’t be ordering again

I am sorry you have had a bad experience with us. We offer a 28 day no quibble returns policy to allow customers time to try on their goods when they have been delivered and return them with a free Royal Mail returns label if they don't fit. The goods are then refunded. Returns are processed within 14 days of receipt and then it takes a few days for the bank to process the monies back on to your card.

I feel one star is even too generous quick to take money sent 5 emails no correspondence as to confirm the order or acknowledge it , still nothing next day delivery is non existent avoid dealing with them

Il pacco non arriva

Ho acquistato il prodotto il primo di aprile per una gara, è passato quasi un mese e non è ancora arrivato ho la gara tra una settimana e ora sono totalmente nel panico perché il costume non sembra arrivare, non riesco a tracciare il pacco ho provato a mandare un email al negozio ma questa non risultava esistente ho addirittura provato a contattarli da instagram e chiamarli da lì ma non ho ricevuto risposta, provato anche a chiamare il numero (0800 987 447) dato in alcune risposte alle recensioni ma nulla.
Sto avendo una pessima esperienza anche perché non mi viene neanche data risposta e non ho un modo per contattarli perché tutti quelli dati non vengono controllati o non sono esistenti, costumi che molto spesso vengono utilizzati per le gare non possono arrivare con tutto questo ritardo dal tempo stimato senza possibilità di tracciamento, spero davvero di non rimanere senza costume ...

Great experience

This company has been helpful as I needed a new dance bag. Great experience fast, easy shipping with dance direct. Tracking is available would definitely order again. I don’t normally write reviews but I had to because I loved this bag, would recommend!

Spam Mail Post Purchase

So I purchased some shoes from Dance Direct. Where does it say in your T&Cs and Privacy document that this then allows you to spam my email address with every future offer you have?

I'd like you to direct myself and anyone else who reads this review to the appropriate section(s) of T&Cs. If you can't direct me then you have simply abused my personal data.

It's not for me to tell others how to run your business but you need to be carefully about spamming people. You can alienate people very fast.

Why do receive the spam when I never gave my consent?

Why do I have to waste my time clicking Unsubscribe?

Why from now on are all your emails sent directly to my spam folder and never read?

It takes energy to send emails. Why are wasting value resources?

Why are you wasting my time?

Arnaque ! 98€ de commande, dont 16€ de taxes, et on me demande de payer 25€ à l'arrivée du colis !! Mais quelle entreprise e-commerce fait ça aujourd'hui ? N'importe quoi ! Service client ne répond pas au tel, et le tchat ne sert à rien. Très déçue !

Brilliant experience

Brilliant experience. I was apprehensive about ordering tap shoes online as all the makes vary so much. I wanted the leather Bloch Sync Tap and Dance Direct were the cheapest online. I did a lot of research to see what Blochs sizing reputation was and nearly everyone said they are a small fitting size up half a size. So I did and they arrived in a couple of days and are perfect. Amazing sound and fit. I am experienced at tap dancing so know a good shoe and fit.

Similar experience to others

Like others here I ordered some ballet shoes that were insanely small. Absolutely nowhere near the advertised size.

Returned them back to them via their “fast and easy” returns system. I tracked the return and it arrived back with them on the 12th December. I asked about progress on the 21st and was told they need 14 working days to process it. It’s now the 2nd January and still no refund.

Very poor experience overall

I ordered my daughter a pair of Ballet…

I ordered my daughter a pair of Ballet Shoes, stated on their site as a 11 and a half...measuring 19.3 cm
However when they arrived they were so small so I presumed simply the wrong size had been printed on the shoe as these were coming up as the size of a size 9 1/2-10 so significantly smaller.

I contacted the company.. Only to be told I ordered the wrong size... So I then showed them the measurements and explained what they should be.. They then told me they would be contacting their product department..

Then received a reply saying
"
Thank your for your patience Gilli. I have spoke with the product department and the way they take measurements on this type of shoes it´s not with a tape measure. The special equipment that we issue inside of the shoe it´s correct. We advice you to order 1 or 2 sizes up depending on how tie the shoe was"

This makes no sense.. Why would you measure a size 11 1/2 etc..then stitch etc and make it smaller... And then sell as a 11 1/2 ....

I don't want to have to return and reorder etc I'll probably get the wrong size again I guess..

Ridiculous customer service, seemingly excuses for poor manufacturing.

I am sorry that the shoes did not fit. The customer service team always try to help but the manufacturers all work to different sizing standards. We publish their sizing charts to try to help you get the correct size but are aware that this does not guarantee a perfect fit. I hope you have managed to find a pair that fits nicely.

Not happy at all

Not happy at all. Ordered jazz shoes for my daughter on next day delivery as she needed them for her class but they haven't arrived in the promised time frame and there is no delivery date now available on FedEx. I haven't had any update from dance direct and still awaiting response to my email. Disappointed and won't be using them again.
Please do not lie I have ordered from your website and finally got the order 4 days later. I did get express delivery refunded by you which I appreciate but doesn't change my disappointment as I needed my order for set date.
