Set up a direct debit without my consent. This was after selling my phone to webuyanyphone.com
There was no mention that my bank details would be shared with another company. A company owned by the SAME people as webuyanyphone. They dont offer refunds.
Its a complete disgrace and criminal act to do this with people's bank details.

I was recommended Cybersentry by Onecom so assumed that i was getting a decent and secure service. I wrote to then to ask exactly what services they provided prior to a trip abroad as I wanted to ensure my phone was safe. They simply stopped my direct debit and did not respond. They have not responded to further emails. i have paid them money for 5 years for this crap service. Don't touch them with a bargepole.

MASSIVE SCAM - DO NOT USE WEBUYANYPHONE

I sold my broken phone to webuyanyphone for £130, upon receiving my phone they changed my offer to £0 due to the fact it was broken. Even though I sold it as broken. A few weeks later I see a £6.95 charge has left my account for CyberSentry. Can see from other reviews this is clearly what they do. I’ve cancelled the DD and lucky I noticed straight away!

Like all the others here, I sold my old mobile through webuyanyphone.com and was signed up for a "trial" to CyberSentry. I didn't agree to the trial, and was alarmed to discover that my bank details were passed from one company to the other without my consent. I have cancelled the direct debit.

I note that the company has not responded to any of these reviews.

Same as everyone else on here… tried to sell a phone on webuyanyphone. They offered much less money than quoted for a phone, so got my phone back.
WeBuyAnyPhone is a scam company, they pay way less than their quote and sell our data to other companies who charges for their service without our authorisation.

Charged £6.95 by CybeSentry Global after selling my phone on webuyanyphone. Did not sign up or agree to the direct debit. Not sure how this can happen on such large scale to customers, complete scam and disgusting strategy by the company.

Just had the same happen - noticed a payment from this company and have no idea who they are - I also sold a phone recently by webuyanyphone - this is outrageous. there is no other word for it. Don’t know what it is and don’t know how they got my details and don’t know what gives them the right to take money out of my bank. I will be reporting them to the ICO and fraud action. I am fuming how can companies sell in your information now with gdpr in place ?

Update - 17.3.2025. - I contacted Webuyanyphone and they said that I had signed up to this - I asked for the data to back this up and it its there - but its hidden on the same button as do you want an extra £5 - it also adds - and a 30 day free trial of McAffee Multi access and Nord/VPN which then signs you up to cybersentry and their direct debit which comes out each month. Therefore DO NOT CLICK THAT BUTTON. When I questioned it this is what I was told - Thank you for your email. In relation to your recent trade-in with us, you opted in for a 30-day free trial of McAfee Multi-Access + Unlimited VPN. CyberSentry on copy will be able to assist with your query.
When you completed at the checkout on the WeBuyAnyPhone.com website you agreed to their terms which includes signing into a direct debit agreement with CyberSentry for the McAfee product following the 30-day trial period.
Our terms are fully compliant with UK law, and by clicking the opt-in box you automatically enrolled in our program.

Whilst they are stating its compliant with UK Law, its at the very least underhand as its not clear that you are signing up to anything and it does not state any prices. Its funny that Cybersentry also happen to be owned by Webuyanyphone. Avoid both.

The free trial will last for 30 days from the date you opt into the free trial.
This includes the terms for CyberSentry Ltd who act as agent for the anti-virus and VPN software provider and the CyberSentry Ltd Privacy Policy which outlines how they will use your data.
You can cancel the anti-virus software at any time from the date you accept the free trial by visiting

Please note that if you do not cancel the software before the end of the free trial period, you will be liable to pay CyberSentry Ltd. After the free trial, the cost of the antivirus and VPN software will be £6.95/month for the first 6 months, and then £14.95/month thereafter. These sums will be collected via direct debit. I have recently been charged £6.95 after selling my phone with webuyanyphone.com. I did not sign up to any free trial for this service and certainly did not authorise payment via direct debit. I have cancelled this payment and request a refund. This is extremely misleading and I will be contacting my bank, be careful as webuyanyphone.com are giving your details over to Cybersentry who are taking payment without your knowledge.

Noticed 3 payments gone out of bank after they have passed my details over to CYBERSENRTY seems to be from when I sent a mobile didn’t agree to this and cannot get any reply from them

Sold a phone to WeBuyAnyPhone and a month later a DD for £6.95 appears on my bank account. Email to enquire and no response and then discover it is a SCAM

Scam and related to we buy any phone. I received a quote for a phone and never sold the phone in the end. They appear to have given my bank details away to this company and I suddenly see a direct debit set up for £6.95. I will be following this up with a huge complaint, shocking

Had a direct debit set up with no comms. Looks like it’s due to selling a phone with we buy any phone. Disgusting!

SCAMMERS THAT OBTAIN BANK DETAILS FROM BUYING YOUR PHONE FROM”WE BUY ANY PHONE”

I got signed in this for this when I renewed my phone contract with Vodafone/Onecom.. and it is impossible to cancel the thing (tried a month or so after the contact). Have logged reports with Onecom.. and nothing happens. Not sure if I can cancel the payment from my end.. but will try. £6 a month for nothing.

No idea what this was set up for but judging by the previous reviews it’s because I’ve sold a phone. No communication to say they are creating a direct debit or even what it’s for. Scam

Found out they set up a direct debit, same situation like other people.

No stars I’ve been ripped of from this company I did not give consent to have DD set up, absolute con, my phone was lost so I still haven’t received payment £176 still owing to me, absolutely disgusting

If I could give minus 5 stars I would. I sold my phone to we buy any phone and then they signed me up to this without my consent or knowledge claiming it was a free trial. Has been reported to my bank as fraud
Absolutely disgusting will not be using either company again.

Used webuyanyphone and got a dd appeared on my bank account without any consent

Luckily i noticed it and cancelled it straight away
