Recently visited Centre parcs Elevedon for family break.
Disappointed with lodge condition with what they charge for breaks, lodge very tired, moldy bathroom tiles and whole of bathroom old, gas oven hit & miss, bedding awful, prices for activities and to eat out very expensive

Centre parcs have it in their terms and conditions that even if facilities that are included without your price (i.e. the pool and soft play) are closed for your entire stay, they do not have to compensate you.

This happened to us and we have no access to the soft play for our entire 7 days and no access to the majority of the pool (all that we usually use) for 5 days.

We asked for 2 free day passes, so we could book a hotel nearby and visit the day we arrived and the day we checked out. They said no, and quoted their T&Cs.

They standardly regardless of how severely your holiday is affected will just offer one day pass. It ruined our entire yearly family holiday, and the first holiday of my one year old nephew. Unforgiveable and Centre Parcs had no remorse or wish to put it right. They will just quote T&Cs at you.

We were affected by routine maintenance which was rescheduled and they failed to tell us about until we were already there. They kept all of our money still.

Don't book with them, pick somewhere else that will notify you in advance and put things right.

Whinfell forest. Pool too crowded. Half term but could hardly move for people, especially when waves on. Have extended the accommodation, but no increase in the pool size Main pool closed for a few hours one day of mid week break. Lodge was v. clean as were the toilets everywhere. Food in Lakeside good but Bella Italia poor and overpriced. Staff v. Pleasant. Will look for somewhere else. Don’t mind paying for extras but CP’s swimming paradise is horrendous- over crowded and no fun, though looks great in the pictures. CP just interested in making money

First day at Centre Parcs and we went to sports centre where we had food

I just wanted to say that I have had a wonderful conversation with Cherie who amended my booking for me. She was so kind and helpful changing my booking for Monday coming at Longleate can’t wait to go.

Disappointing - we found the apartment to be quite weathered, and unfortunately other guests were overindulgent with their alcohol consumption - we shall stick to overseas camping experiences in future.

Iv been going sherwood forest cp for 27 years now. For the past 20 years in the adpated wheelchair Lodges as I'm paralysed and in a wheelchair fulltime. For years iv dragged myself around the pool area up the steps so I could get oustide . But now I'm 51 and haven't got the strength or energy to do this anymore. You would think after 20 yrs they would have put in a lift or ramps for the disabled so they could enjoy the oustide pools.the villas have hardly changed at all over the past 25 years. Just a lick of paint here and there. The TVs are out dated. The sofas are really uncomfortable. The restaurants are dirty, and over priced. All the clothes shops have gone now . Just an over priced joules . Boring! So safe to say this is the last time I'll be going. I'd rather put my money towards a holiday abroad.

I have been coming to Centreparcs for years and always enjoy our holidays as do my children. Their customer service went above and beyond recently when I suffered a recent bereavement. I can't recommend them enough!

We booked a family holiday, we return to the same Whinfell Forest each year. This year 16 in total in two 8 persons lodges.

Unexpectedly and a total out of the blue incident I suffered a heart attack during Xmas holidays just one week prior to our travels.

Our son wis rid for Ambulance service and checked nearest hospital should we decide to go and I need urgent help, nearest but only minors was 17 miles away.

Our daughter made contact with customer service whom without hesitation refunded in full the entire holiday for all 16 of us. Honestly given some had travelled some distance to join us I felt terrible but naturally could not go.

Incredibly grateful for the understanding at what is a difficult time.

Sherwood forest is great for chilling out or keeping the kids entertained and keeping fit with so much to do.
Our lodge was adapted for our son who is in a wheelchair with all the facilities he required including access to all areas. It was clean and well laid out but the seating really needs replacing as so uncomfortable. Most eating areas are expensive for what you get in value and quality. We did have a meal in the Italian and the meal was acceptable but the evening was made with the smiley care and brilliant service from Emma our waitress.

This is purely based on booking and not the experience at Centre Parcs which we do enjoy.

However, after what has happened today I am being left feeling conned and really let down by a brand I trusted.

I took advantage of an early booking deal in October 2024 for a little new years getaway in 2025. They had an incentive that you only had to pay a 10% deposit and then the rest of my balance was due in October 2025.

I thought this was great as it meant I could process my booking and then make a one off payment later.

However, today I received an email stating I have a deposit bill of £337 which has to be paid by next week or my booking will be cancelled.

I feel so blindsided by this as the email I received after my booking very clearly states my next payment is in October 2025.

I have now spoken to customer service and they said that in the terms and conditions it does state that an additional payment will be made. However this feels really sneaky to me as it isn't clear in the financial breakdown during booking or in the confirmation.

Really bad form by a company who I held in high regard.

Where to start…

As a family we have been to centre Parcs around 5 times now, We stayed in a 2 story lodge with a games room..

Pay luxury prices with no quality to back it up.

Our villa was outdated, shower leaked through the sealing ruining 1 of our days there as it soaked the sofa we had 4 toddlers inside the villa making it very dangerous for them to play.

Took around 3 hours for maintenance team to even come out and fix the issue.

Was offered a 10% refund when it should have been atleast 25% as 1 full day was ruined.

Couldn’t even play on the pool table because the ques just hit the walls behind you making the experience woeful.

This time round it felt like a complete waste of money,

Your home is more luxury than this place.

TVs are ones from back in 2000 no apps and every phew channels and VERY slow

Needs a whole need revamp in most the lodges

First time we have been without the kids, and we were looking foward to some nice walks with the dog, bike rides and spending hours in the pool.
The pool experience was disappointing to be honest.
So we arrived on our first day and hit the pool for a couple of hours before we were allowed into our lodge.
First thing we noticed was that the pools weren't as warm as it used to be. No big deal we thought, the wave machine will take our mind off it.
We swam a few lengths and bobbed around for a hour, no wave machine action.
It seems that the waterfall in the main pool has be decommissioned also.
Never mind, we will move on and relax in the outdoor bubble pool!
We sat in the bubble pool for nearly an hour.
No bubbles.
We decided to raise our spirits by going down the river rapids.
Rapid it wasn't, it was almost as if the flow of water had been reduced. I lost count of the amount of people that had to push themselves down most of the way.
We remembered that there was an inside bubble pool near the main pool so went there. Trouble is, everyone else had the same idea. Hard to relax when it's full of young parents that let their toddlers and pre-schoolers dive around spitting water and splashing everywhere.
That was our first day pool experience, repeat to fade for the rest of the week.
On the other days, we asked the different pool attendants why stuff isn't working, their standard reply on every occasion was that it is working, you must have missed it when the bubbles or wave machine was on.
When we pointed out that we spend 3 to 4 hours a day in the pools and didn't miss anything because it's obviously not working in the pools they just walked off. Some were pleasant in manner but a couple were borderline rude in their dialogue.
They have been programmed by the management to tell lies methinks.
We booked a dog friendly cabin for the obvious reason, it wasn't overly clean, bits of rubbish and food in the freezer had been left by the previous guests, but it was OK.
I expected the lodge to smell a bit 'doggy' but it didn't, not even the slightest whiff. This was probably the only part where centre parcs exceeded my expectations.
We noticed that 'complimentary' soap, shampoo and shower gel were not present.
All in all, it looks like major cost cutting exercises have taken place and this is the worst centre parcs visit as a consequence out of nearly a dozen visits.
Centre parcs holidays are never cheap, you pay a premium for the pools and water features and we always accepted this. The pool areas were always the main draw for us.
Extremely disappointed with the holiday given how much we paid for it, we couldn't enjoy the things we were looking foward to because they either weren't working or weren't working as well as they have in the past.
The wife wanted to leave a day early but I was determined to get my hard earned monies worth.
I failed.
We won't be coming back.

I went to Centreparcs with my family last week 16-20th December 2024. I found that it is fabulous for children thar love sporty things to do but you need deep deep pockets! My main bug bear was a restaurant called the Sports Cafe. It was massively overpriced and the food was absolutely disgusting. I sent my lemon meringue back and was asked if I would like something else instead? Are you kidding me! I told the young lady the food tasted awful and all she could say was please leave us feedback when you leave!! It spoilt what could have been a nice time with my family. Oh there is one more thing to note. It took 1hr to be checked in due to massive car tailbacks snaking around the car parks. Honestly it was an absolute shambles. Never again. Abroad for me 2025.

Having just spent 4 nights at Sherwood Forest , we had a fab time . Thank you to Santa and the elves making it a magical experience. Thank you to Sarah , Sarah and Tracy from joules who went the extra mile and Harry from the sports bar . Accommodation was fab . All round fab experience for all 3 families in one lovely lodge . Thank you

Went to Center parcs at Woburn a few months back (first timer). The hotel is lovely to stay in and an ideal location for activities.

Positives: Small centre parcs easy access from hotel for walks, the lakes, swimming pool, supermarket etc.
Lots to do, some fair/reasonable prices.
Lovely supermarket and restaurant staff.

Negatives:
Blood on bed under pillow
Rude lifeguards tutting as we walked past (this was only a few, the rest lovely).
Swimming pools do need to be at least a few degrees warmer.
Tropical cyclone, I didn’t realise how this ride is (read other reviews). We wasn’t given the right advice for holding on nor to sit up. Please be mindful as I think this is a huge health and safety issue.

HOWEVER

We returned to Woburn last week as we was offered discount due to complaining about the above. Can’t fault the Christmas experience. Lovely lifeguards, hotel room very clean, activities easy to book at desk just not online. Amazing Christmas experience for free. Just magical.

I went with my adult teen daughter. We paid £289 for a room for 5 days. This was the price before any discount. We took cuppa soups, bread, pot noodles, olives, cheese ham etc for the fridge and ate out twice. All staff were fantastic. We would definitely recommend and return next year. It’s not always expensive, it can add up however many free things seeing the lights, Christmas area, feeding the ducks, squirrels etc. we limited ourselves to £30 each per day and didn’t even need this. The Christmas shop in the centre is reasonable, badminton and the pottery is definitely worth it and books up fast (they need to make this bigger).

Don’t waste your hard earned money. Too long in the tooth at Sherwood. Everything is old in the chalets. The plugs don’t even work, that’s how bad it is. If you’re willing to pay twice the normal price for any extras then you’re ok. If you went 10-25 years ago you’ll be really disappointed at the lack of investment. Oh yeah the tv service is a joke.

My family, including the grandkids, and I were considering booking a 2025 spring break holiday. However, after reading the reviews, I've decided against it.

First and last time at Whinfell or any other Centreparcs.To start off your holiday you have a half hour que to check in. Get told lodge will be ready at 4 gates open at 4 but don't try get to lodge it will be to busy and will take 30 to 40 mins to get to it. Lodge itself advertised as updated lodge. May be the case but not in the last 5 years full of cobwebs broken smelly oven. Smelly microwave. Bin as probably never seen a cloth. Couch is something you wouldn't want any visitor's to see if it was in your own home. Didnt look like it had ever been moved for cleaning. Also half eating biscuit under a bed. Pool was good. Plenty activities if you have very deep pockets. Food in restaurants very expensive and average at best. Definitely worst holiday I've ever had
