A Rip-Off from Start to Finish
Will never go back!
Everything is ridiculously overpriced, with poor service and low-quality food across all restaurants. The use of robots is a complete waste of time and money - on multiple occasions, we saw customers having to serve themselves because food was delivered by robots with no waiters around. Family activities are outrageously expensive, and the staff are poorly trained. £6 for a Coke and £17 plus a service charge for a tasteless burger served by a robot? Throughout our stay, we constantly heard complaints from other guests. Everything feels forced and overpriced, with staff who aren’t properly trained. What a joke.
Family Holiday 18/07/25 - 21/07/25
My family and I stayed at Centre Parcs, Woburn Village, Bedfordshire from 18/07/25 to 21/07/25.
It has been a pleasurable experience for all of us.
The customer service is excellent to mention Kathy at the Pancake House on 19/07/25 she is welcoming, friendly and professional. Also to mention Olivia -128LivM at the Sports Cafe on 21/07/25 in the Plaza, she gave an excellent customer service by doing the extra mile.
The Centre Parcs, Woburn Village is easy to travel to from Kent, it is a fun place to spend time with the family with lots of activities for all ages. Our accommodation is cozy and spacious, however it needs extra electric fans (x4) or maybe air-conditioning as it was hot.
I highly recommend Centre Parcs, Woburn.
Recruitment downfall
My review is not based anything other than the recruitment process. My Daughter recently applied for a house-keeping position at Whinfell Forest. Firstly she spent sometime here during the summer of 2024 as a bedmaker and throughly enjoyed it. She met some really good people and it really boosted her confidence. Unfortunatly she was turned down this year for a bed making position and decided she would like to apply for house-keeping as this would give her a better opportunity to stay on. After she attended a full day taking part in the interview process she was advised she would receive a phone call the following day with a decision. Today she received an email stating her application would go no further no feedback? As a former employee of Center Parcs, a HouseKeeper and Team Leader I left my position to care for a sick relative. It was a hard decision to leave given the fact I’d joined through the lockdown period and Center Parcs was indeed my best job to date. Although it is hard work it was very much a family with the best support from a working perspective and also a personal one. I met some amazing people and I was so grateful I’d had that opportunity. I have seen all kind of skills here, people who are fantastic at the jobs and take great care in providing a good service, some who don’t believe in themselves but throw everything into it and are proud of their work, going home after every shift feeling like you’ve accomplished something. However the downfalls are the people employed who care not very much at all apart from turn up so they get paid, horrendous sickness and still manage to keep a job. Training is provided for a considerable amount of time hence earn whilst you learn, yet you’ve let down a young lady who was willing to try and enjoy her time here, appreciate the surroundings, it’s not just a job to some people. I feel my Daughters decision was based on the fact that she is young and an unprofessional decision was made on this basis only. Why would a woman young girl want to work at Center Parcs? Desperation? Part time? Or maybe being brought up in surroundings where all that matters is your willing to turn up, learn, work your back side off and just be happy. There are indeed some people still out there that wish to be themselves regardless of what sort of money they earn or what role/title you play. Very disappointing but regardless given the fact she is a very determined individual no doubt she’ll re-apply.
An unpleasant waspish experience
An unpleasant waspish experience. Lovely accommodation in the middle of the forest but extortionate food prices and although it was 30 outside no air conditioning on in any of the facilities so it was hot and airless in the sports hall and restaurants. The main problem however was wasps . The hottest time of the year we were unable to sit outside to eat, drink or just enjoy our surroundings as we were constantly bombarded with wasps . My 8 yo granddaughter was crying as she was constantly being attacked. The staff were aware of the problem batting menus against the windows in an effort to deter them but it was constant . Maybe some citronella or other deterrent would be helpful as they simply ruined our stay .
Woburn
Easy check in process, and quite nice accommodation by the woods (Birch 513). Comfortable and clean with a nice view of the surrounding forest. If you like seeing wildlife, feed the Muntjacs, Squirrels, Rabbits and Hedgehogs on Apples, Bananas and Carrots, and they’ll feed all day. We went with our 18 month old grandson, so we had take aways delivered during the evenings but we found the standard of food quite poor and expensive. So I would suggest taking your own food. Overall, a nice stay with good facilities and pleasant, polite staff.
The prices for some activities are…
The prices for some activities are extortionate, 5 adults 5 very young children payed £100 for a round of crazy golf. The course was extremely average.
The Lodge was grubby and in need of a good refurbishment.
Great Stay
Great Stay
Few observations at elveden
1. Some life guards aren’t watching pools talking to friends/other staff instead of watching pools and seems a lack of them in main pool
2. Rapids need controlling better with a lot more staff or red and light and time system as you can’t have 10 people colliding at fast end of rapids it’s very dangerous I had several people inadvertently pull me under in shallow end of rapids pool as far to many going down end at once
3. Rapids need better coating or redesign/rebuild lots of people getting stuck in places which then causes some of point 2
4. Replace gas for electric hobs in all villas it’s nightmare cooking getting hob and oven to light
5. Pool needs heating more in colder weather as sometimes that’s main attraction for families like ours
6. Wave machine seems to been slowed down in day time which is little disappointing
7. I heard Centre Parcs wanted a sale sadly I feel lodges one by one need re-builds so 5bn seems far to high as you can see aging in villas
8. I’d introduce go karting indoors, wine and coffee tasting, few more fun activities for adults as well as for kids, fully equipped gym in main space by pool
Always a great holiday but few things
to fix and improve on
Staying at elveden and the park is okay…
Staying at elveden and the park is okay but they just do enough. The foot golf is awful. The brick weave paths have bricks sticking out. Everything is so expensive so you expect it to be top notch. Just had a hucks and it was like old school dinners. Burger was like cardboard. Would never go again
Woburn Site.
Woburn Site.
Nice venue, most staff very helpful accommodation was fairly clean and of a reasonable standard.
So why only 3 stars…?
Everywhere you go to eat applies a 7.5% service charge automatically! Assuming all staff are on at least the living wage there is no need to apply this. Gone are they days for the need to tip and if we want to tip we will but let US decide. It felt like Centre Parcs were assuming that the guests should contribute to staff wages so are you underpaying your staff???
Move with the times and remove this ridiculous policy. I will decide where my hard earned cash is spent Centre Parcs not you!!!
Land trains don't run on arrival days
Land trains don't run on arrival days, so twice a week. Distance from lodges to activities make it impossible to walk during changeover days if you have mobility difficulties. Land trains every 20 minutes but mobility scooters are difficult to load and steps from carriages are awkward. The food in all venues is very well cooked and reasonable prices given a captive audience. For a few pounds they deliver to lodge. Semitropical pool is reasonably clean but changing facilities are cramped and a little dirty
Very clean lodges but surprisingly tired given the modern makeover you see in their pictures. Very serene setting with fawns willing to approach quite close to lodge. Bedding excellent and beds comfortable. Departure by 10a.m. rather early but you can stay on site and use facilities all remaining day of departure. Would recommend bikes for whole family if possible as time from one end of park to the other will take 20 mins by train. Baby carriage behind bikes common. Can be hired in advance. Expensive and many activities like tennis and snooker cost extra. Cashless so use card. 3 days is a push to get everything in. If going as a large family group consider 1 tree house lodge or similar rather than 2 separate ones. Book early!! Guest Services very helpful. I didn't enjoy the trip but lack of mobility colours my review somewhat. If you're young, fit and have kids you'll love it. If you're an elderly grandparent you might struggle a bit. I won't be coming back nor visiting any other sites.
Don't go
Nice enough place but they won't stop producing appalling adverts. Avoid accordingly

This is a 5 star review for Holly at Cafe Rouge, Woburn.
We had a family weekend finishing on Monday with tea at cafe rouge. My grandson was OBSESSED with the robot waiter and Holly was so good with him as well as generally providing excellent service.
No value to loyal customers
No value to loyal customers, need to final new place to go for quick breaks that cares for us
Centreparcs Elveden Awful Experience
Centreparcs Elveden Awful Experience. Customer Service Dept is horrific! The company has no empathy and in my opinion are just money grabbing. Not caring about their customers or the customer experience. So very sad.
AVOID
I recently stayed at the Whinfell resort for centre parcs and let me tell you about my horrendous experience. My sister in law had booked a lodge x2 bedroom close to the centre with herself and her 2 kids, she had added my daughter on to the lodge as she wanted to come. A few weeks later me and my partner decided to go and book the lake side apartments. Once we arrived my daughter was upset that she couldn’t stay with us, so we took her into our apartment with us. Now what happens next is atrocious. The security guard and the manager a younger man, wouldn’t give me his name, chapped my room door, they asked who was staying in the room, i told them, they said that my daughter couldn’t stay in there with us as this was a 2 person room, they said I had 2 options, 1 to leave the premises that i paid for, 2 had to pay for a lodge of over £1000, bare in mind i have advised them that my daughter is booked into my sister in laws lodge and paid for, they had my daughter in tears scared and upset, asking why she can’t stay with her mum, it ruined our trip that we had paid for, I’ll never be back. Absolutely disgusting!!!!
Nickel and Diming READ THIS TO THE END
In the USA little charges are added without you knowing. Hotels will add on extra taxes that you cannot understand, car hire does the same, then you get taxed on the tax. They call it Nickel and Diming and Americans are sick of it. Centerparcs you are a disgrace for doing the same. I only noticed by chance at the Dozing Duck. Went to buy drinks at the bar, waited ten minutes to get served, I was the only one waiting. Three staff stood behind me talking together. Eventually got served after videoing how long it took. Took the drinks on a tray to an outside table which hadn't been cleaned in 24 hours. I cleaned it, the muck on the table was unbelievable. Looked at the bill, £7.25 per pint. Oh what's this extra on the bill, an extra 7.5% service charge. SERVICE CHARGE FOR WHAT? AT NO POINT WAS I TOLD, THEREFORE YOU ROBBED ME.
Awful Service and very poor housekeeping …
We’ve visited Center Parcs Sherwood many times over the years, but unfortunately, the standards have noticeably declined. Our accommodation was not clean, which was disappointing from the start. Our experience at Huck’s restaurant was particularly poor — we waited over an hour for our food, and the only time the staff seemed to move quickly was when bringing us the bill, which included an unexpected £10 service charge.
The archery session was also a letdown. The staff member, Elle, was unnecessarily rude and spoke down to the children. She clearly lacks the people skills needed for a family-friendly activity like this.
I’ve submitted a formal complaint, though I suspect the usual offer of a discount on a future booking will follow — something we definitely won’t be taking up.
Centre Parcs Aqua Spa Vitale Cafe
Big shout out to Lisa at the Aqua Spa Vitale Restaurant in Centre Parcs Sherwood. My wife and I went to the spa to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Whilst having brunch and lunch in the vitale restaurant nothing was too much for her. Even coming down to the surprise decorations on our table at lunch and the complementary cake at the end of the meal. Give Lisa a RAISE as she made our day.
Awful customer service
If I could cancel, I would!
Awful customer service, chatbot using a script just saying the same thing over and over.
I understand the person making the booking should have put a dog on the booking at the time, but they didn't so I contacted customer support to add the dog on after seeing there is a small fee to bring a pet.
I was told you can't add a dog on for the fee, it has to be a in a pet lodge due to cleaning.
Do you not clean your lodges before the next person? That's worrying!!
There is a literally a person in space right now but CenterParcs can't let me bring my pet.
I offered to pay an added cleaning fee, a night fee, any type of name they want to dress it up with and the chat bot just kept saying the same thing.
My dog travels into main land Europe with me, she has stayed in many hotels and Air B&B's with no issue, just an added cleaning fee which I'm happy to pay yet a family targeting woodland located uk based company can't let a dog in a lodge.
Baffled. if I could cancel the whole trip I would but we can't. The rest of the party will be attended but I will stay at home with the dog.
Awful customer service and mentally in the 1950s or something wild.
Overpriced & dirty
Have not visited for 4 years, will not be returning anymore. First visited over 25 years ago & was fantastic. Lodges are dirty & tired all outlets & activities are overpriced. My advice would be to stay away nowadays
