We had a lovely time as a group of 4 young girls looking for a weekend away. We did experience some disgusting behaviour from some boys in the pool with inappropriate comments and actions. We reported the behaviour at around 6:40. By the time we had got changed they had the pool manager ready to take a statement and by 7:20 we’d spoken to them and they’d reassured us they’d try their best to get it sorted and offered us a lift back to our lodge. Received a call at 8:55 from Helin the duty village manager saying they had removed the boys from the site and if we have any issues we can call her to get it sorted. We can’t thank the staff and lifeguards enough for sorting it as quickly as they did and we can now relax knowing this won’t happen to any other young girls. Thank you so much!

I phoned Elvedene park with an enquiry regarding wheelchair accessible lodges. The lady was very helpful but due to the nature of my booking was told to ring head office to make the booking.
I did as instructed but after enduring 22 minutes of awful music whilst waiting for someone to speak gave up on the idea of booking a £3999 holiday for my disabled children.
Surely there should be a facility whereby you can hang up and someone will call you back!

We needed to amend our booking because of family circumstances and they wanted £250 just to move date!! We were prepared to upgrade and pay more but the admin fee was ridiculous!!!

Loved our visit to Elveden. The facilities and staff were great. So many activities to be involved in and we liked pottery painting particularly.
Even though there were so many people holidaying in the park, it was a relaxing experience.
The staff really looked after my group, consisting of older ones and those with disabilities. Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and wanted to return.
We had one issue with an oven not working but guest services sorted it out within the hour.
Can’t understand the negative comments on here as the reason we went to Centre Parcs in the first place was because multiple friends and neighbours of ours had been and had all said how great it was there. We can only agree with them and can’t wait to return!

I’ve visited Whinfell regularly over the years and always had great experiences, but during a recent day visit I was shocked by how aggressively a staff member spoke to me when I moved my car. I understand I had blocked someone in, but the behaviour was unprofessional and not what I’d expect from Centre Parcs. Very disappointing given the usual high standards.

Katie in the spa was AMAZING ,so honest about the products ,so caring with the clients and so so helpful’

I would give it - points - if I could - I spent 1,300 for a weekend - I have got better customer service at a 10 a night hostel. Absolutely disgraceful manner of treating paying customers - this is the Longford Forest one in Ireland - waiting an hour for them to answer the phone - so disrespectful and rude staff members. They were so unhelpful. Only my nephew.

Crazy system to check in on arrival and leaving the car park at 4pm to drive to your lodge

I haven't even been yet. I am due to go in 2 weeks but I've had a letter from the hospital with an operation now taking place the week I am supposed to go.

I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to talk to someone to discuss rescheduling. I have never known a holiday company to be this bad with communication. It's really put me off wanting to go

Went with my two little girls was great ! went on the inflatable on the lake lovely worker called simon there played tennis he was like serena williams ! great fun definitely recommend.

We booked a weekend at centre parcs Arden in Belgium and literally spent 1 minutes in the room, it was awful
All of us cried and the kids said it was like a horror movie and a prison cell,
We lost £500 as we just left straight away but the best £500 I ever lost as there was no way we we’re staying in such a dirty smelly place, not a clue how they got the park and villa to look nice on the photos

The company continually broke the equality Act 2010. Having provided upfront information about the disability and barriers they ignored this and requested I do exactly what I could not to communicate.

Added to this the barrier they created they then use words like 'frustrating' rather than apologise and accept liability for their mistakes over and over again.

The Spa Vouchers were a retirement gift of significant amount, but why would I wish to go to a venue that has no respect, regard and treat a disabled person with no empathy fairness nor understanding. Truly devestated, upset and livid in their discriminatory methods, tone and words.

My Sister made a booking some months ago - we have booking number, and my email address is linked, but I didn't act on it at the the time. We are booked in tomorrow, I have spent the last 24 hours trying to register my booking with no sucess. The organistion is very opaque, the staff are unhelpful, the automated system doesn't work or tells me it will take 7 days to sort out. I have been to centre parcs a few time in the last 30 years - it always seemed well organised. how could it get worse?

Absolutely awful experience at centre parcs whinfell, chalet was dirty paint flaking off the walls, oven doesn’t work. Sofas look like they have never been cleaned.

Costs,

To hire a bikes is absolutely astronomical, food, drinks is so so expensive. Save your hard earned money and don’t bother coming you will be disappointed. £5 for a slushy for the kids and they don’t even fill it to the top. Never ever will I come here again.

Lodges are in a great natural location! Plan ahead, book your stay, and book your activities including eating at restaurants.

This site is great for the kids who will swim in the pool, bigger kids who will use the slides, flumes, cyclone. All included in the booking price.

Unfortunately that is all that is included and anything else is very expensive! EG £6.50 for a game of pool.

The accommodation is ok but tired and in need of a refresh.

The biggest issue for me is the introduction of "dog friendly". It's a huge step backwards.

Great for dogs less so for the visitor (me) who get dogmess on footwear.

Not pleasant. It's hard to enjoy the scenery while checking the floor ahead.

Whinfell.

Everything about the centre parcs model is designed to drain cash from your wallet whilst simultaneously ruining what could be an enjoyable experience. All activities are based on time instead of rounds or games. So bowling for an hour will allow a 4 player team to get about 1.5 games in 5 will give you 4 bowls in the second game and 6 people may achieve 1 full game. None of the restaurants were busy in the slightest but food still takes a phenomenal time to be served. Lodge came with a sauna which is more akin to a military drying room. Just an electric heater with no option to add water to coals. Barbecue and log fire was banned during our visit and the terrible pond for water activities was closed for 2 days for maintenance right in the middle of August with no refund offered due to the reduced experience. Pool only has 3 slides, loads for babies but not much else going on. Smaller pools at other resorts have much more to offer. Playing a game of pool is the most complicated task ever, too boring to explain fully but even this requires booking.

I have had a terrible time trying to communicate with staff at center parcs. I’ve ended up writing to guest services regarding my complaints, it has been over 3 weeks and still no response other than an automated email saying we hope this has now been resolved but please respond in 7 days if you still need help.
Complete lack of compassion, customer service or even basic human decency when dealing with customer service staff after waiting in a phone queue for over 30 minutes each time. Nobody seems to care and just passes the buck or gives you a different number or email to contact. I even ended up crying on the phone to a booking assistant today (very unlike me) and she could not have cared less and just gave me the guest relations email which I have already received no support from.
I can’t imagine dealing with people like this and I for sure will never ever be returning here.

We had a great time at Elveden Forest in a Dog Friendly Woodland Lodge which was lovely & clean & well equipped.
& the lodge was great for watching the wildlife, going for lovely woodland walks, & just a stroll away from the Village Centre.
But it was a real shame that there wasn’t a small fenced off area attached to the back of the lodge so our dog could be outside without getting tangled up with his lead.
We wondered if we could suggest that the lodges have a small fenced off area attached to the back of the lodges just around the patio area, maybe the same height/style that you have around your Dog Play Areas?

Holly was absolutely lovely. I had her for the Crazy Science session and she made it so fun and enjoyable! Even though I hadn’t booked hair braiding or face painting that day, she still made time for me to do both — which I really appreciated.

What touched me even more was that the face painting wasn’t just from the book — she knew what I loved and suggested something that matched my obsession straight away. It meant so much that she remembered what I liked and made it happen without me asking.

During Crazy Science, she told me I could decorate however I wanted, including with a character I love. That made me feel so seen and included. Holly’s energy, kindness, and creativity really stood out. She went above and beyond and deserves recognition for that.

Feedback for MRC Lodge & Experience

We’d absolutely love to return — the atmosphere overall was amazing and we made so many memories. That said, I wanted to share a bit of honest feedback too.

The lodge we stayed in had a noticeable smell, which I believe may have been mold, and the toilets weren’t as clean as they were during our previous visits. It didn’t ruin our stay, but with some attention to those details, the experience would have been absolutely perfect.

Shout-Outs to More Amazing Staff Members

Jay (Activity Team) – Jay was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. She had such a calm, positive presence and made every moment feel comfortable and welcoming.
Tiana (Woodland Wheelers) – Tiana made us feel so special. The 30 minutes she spent with my daughter were full of care and great service. My daughter really connected with her, and I could see how engaged and kind Tiana was. We were truly impressed.
Georgia (Cycle Centre) – Georgia was fantastic! I wasn’t sure what type of bike to book for my two-year-old son, and everything was already booked. When I asked someone else, I was told to come back the next day. But when I asked to speak to a manager, Georgia stepped in with such a positive attitude. She kindly found a bike with a seat on the back so I could ride with my son. She was helpful, calm, and so willing to assist — it really meant a lot to me.
Chantal (Arrivals) – Chantal was warm, kind, and welcoming from the very beginning. She made us feel at ease after a long journey, and her energy set the tone for a great stay.
Sue (Arrivals Manager) – I had a tricky situation with booking two separate breaks, which made it hard to coordinate everything. Sue was absolutely incredible. She arranged for someone to collect our luggage and move it to our new lodge, offered a late check-out from the first lodge, and an early check-in to the new one. She went above and beyond, and I truly appreciated her support.
Jess (Line Dancing) – Jess was full of energy and joy! I had such fun dancing with my daughter, even though I was the youngest one there. She made the moves easy and fun, and we still talk about the routine at home. Jess brought such life to the class, and I’ll always remember her.
Hayley (Chocolate Chef & Go-Karting) – Hayley was amazing in both activities. My daughter fell in love with her during the chocolate chef session — she had such positive energy and made the whole thing a joy. During go-karting, Hayley was again full of energy and encouragement. My daughter had an amazing time and can’t wait to see her again at Christmas.
Emily (Chestnut Picnic) – Emily was kind and welcoming, especially with the kids. She let my eight-year-old daughter join in even though it wasn’t planned, so she wouldn’t feel left out. That small gesture meant a lot and made our day that much better.
Emma C – Emma has such a beautiful smile and a genuinely positive attitude. She was so kind and had really lovely, engaging communication with the kids — it made a big difference. We loved her energy and the way she carried herself. Even the way the food was presented felt special because of her.

That evening, she truly made our night with the warm and welcoming way she greeted us. I even mentioned to the manager how incredible she is. Honestly, she’s the kind of person every place needs — someone who brings positive energy, kindness, and a radiant smile wherever she goes. I absolutely loved it.

Final Thoughts

In general, we had an amazing time and just wanted to say thank you. Your staff are truly special — each person we encountered brought something unique and made us feel cared for. It was one of our most memorable stays and we can’t wait to return for the Christmas break.

Will never go back!
Everything is ridiculously overpriced, with poor service and low-quality food across all restaurants. The use of robots is a complete waste of time and money - on multiple occasions, we saw customers having to serve themselves because food was delivered by robots with no waiters around. Family activities are outrageously expensive, and the staff are poorly trained. £6 for a Coke and £17 plus a service charge for a tasteless burger served by a robot? Throughout our stay, we constantly heard complaints from other guests. Everything feels forced and overpriced, with staff who aren’t properly trained. What a joke.
