Beware, this is a scam. I tried to book a taxi in Tenerife and have been receiving charges from bookici since. I spoke to an agent who said they cancelled my subscription, but the charges have continued. Will now have to get a new credit card.

Accidental subscription when I tried to book a table for a local restaurant in Tenerife and the site acted as a third party booker. Very dark pattern and when they tried to take £19.99, monzo asked me to confirm it was dodgy…. So then I was without a card on holiday!!! Nightmare. They did confirm cancellation quickly via live chat but did keep sending texts and emails, so took a couple of requests to fully delete from my life!

All I did was book a restaurant table in Seville. The resturant's book a table button took me to book-ici.
That bit went ok.
I was charged £1 for the privilege.In the grand scheme of my trip, i just shrugged at that one.
I had a great stay in Seville and got home with a bill of £19.99 on my card account!!
After much shouting it seems that if you use Book-ici for anything you have signed up for their "concierge": service. It is in the (very) small print when I booked my table, but I was only thinking of my dinner booking.
You have 3 days to opt out. After more shouting, Book-ici agreed to refund the £19.99 and - a week later - I still havent got that. Also I logged in and cancelled my unwanted "concierge" account.
Now I see yet another charge to my card account of £1.00. This seems to be a cost for the Book-ici magazine!! WTF?? Whats that about???
So, dear reader. My advise is to AVOID THIS LOT.
If you do fall into the trap, unsubscribe within the 3-day guillotine period. And complain, to them, and on here.
Still waiting for my £19.99

Booked a table in Tenerife at a favourite restaurant, after being unable to make a reservation any other way. On arrival the restaurant had no record of the reservation even though I showed the SMS confirmation. A quick Google and I realised I had signed up to a €19.99 monthly subscription with a very short 3 day cancellation period. Not a good experience. I also received a telephone call asking for feedback!

Pasados unos días me vuelven a cargar un pequeño importe.
No voy a discutir la claridad o no, solo creía que estaba reservando con el restaurant. Di de baja el servicio equivocado e infructuoso y cuatro días después tengo retenido un cargo de 1 €. Pasado unos días, muy atentamente me llaman y se interesan por lo que ocurrió. Indican que me devuelven el cargo quiera o no quiera. Muy atenta en las explicaciones. Que son dos servicios y no solo uno, suscripción a reservas y a revista. Lo haces de una pero la baja se hace de dos. Agradecido por el detalle de contactar conmigo. Gracias

I strongly warn everyone against using this website.
I found this page via a Google maps link while trying to reserve a table at a highly hyped Italian restaurant in Milan. The website clearly gives the impression that it is possible to book a table through their service.
This is false.
The restaurant does not accept any reservations (!!!). We was in after 30 minutes waitiung time.
What did happen instead:
A €0.01 charge was made, clearly designed to lower suspicion.
Shortly after, €19.99 was charged without any clear, transparent or legally compliant price disclosure.
A few days later, another €1.90 charge followed — again without proper explanation or consent.
Under German law, the cost disclosure was insufficient and misleading. There was no clear indication of a paid service, subscription, or follow‑up charges. This is not legally acceptable and strongly indicates deceptive business practices.
I will be formally contacting the operator and demand a full refund of all charges.
If no complete refund is issued immediately, I will file a criminal complaint for fraud in Germany and pursue further legal steps. German consumer protection law on this matter is very clear.

Book Ici has contacted me and claims the following:
1) Refund contact:
I am supposedly supposed to contact them regarding a refund. That is exactly what I have already done — multiple times. There has been no response at all. Just check your Mails.
It is remarkable that Book IC finds the time to reply publicly to reviews, but does not respond to emails regarding refunds. That speaks for itself.
2) Alleged subscription model:
I have seen the single SMS that was sent. It contains absolutely no information about any subscription model.
I have carefully reviewed all emails. In one single email, the subscription is mentioned only in tiny font in the footer (font size 8.5), in light grey text on a white background, while the rest of the email is clearly readable in black font size 12.
Calling this a transparent disclosure of costs is incorrect. I explicitly reject that claim.
I have fully documented all emails and the SMS and provided them to my bank and Mastercard.
No bank or Mastercard case handler will seriously confirm that this constitutes transparent cost disclosure when I initiate the chargeback procedure when you don't refund me asap.
This is not an opinion — this is the documented reality.
Update: they still charge my credit card!!!! Today I inform my bank, great that I have the conversation and they still charge... Unbelievable!!!!

When trying to order a Taxi online on Teneriffe we found this website. Only after we verified out Creditcard Info, we where told that there is no taxi available using Book-ici. A few days later we where charged almost 20€ for a service subscription we where never knew we booked.
After several tries to get a refund and being ghosted afterwards we received an email stating a refund hast been made.
After 13 days no money got into my account I feel scammed. I cant emphasize enough how far away I will stay from this company and their so called „Customer Service“

This is a legitimate company but will take your money with no guarantees. They will attempt to make a booking for you and take a deposit. They told me the company could not be contacted for the booking and I was to contact them myself. They do not refund the ‘agent’ fee. Do not use, do not trust unless you are happy to take a chance. They are covered by the small print.
As an update much like other reviewers I was signed up to a subscription without realising which i cancelled as soon as I was aware after a credit crd payment was taken. This was 4 days after i used for a booking. I emailed asking for a refund. email was ignored. If you have used this service in any way you will have been signed up for a subscription. make sure you cancel this immediately as you only have 3 days to do so before your money is taken. After my experience i find the positive reviews hard to believe.

Esto me ha parecido una eatafa, sin saber la razon me he visto suscrito a una pagina de servicios que no he autorizado. Me han cargado 0,01€ en mi tarjeta y a los pocos dias 19,99€ y 4 dias despues 1,90 y yo no he contratado ningun servicio a esta empresa. Estoy pensando que es una estafa organizada.

CUIDADO!!! Estafadores. Realizas una reserva a Restaurante y luego te cargan sin aviso a la cuenta de la tarjeta 19,98 €. Indican una página para darte de baja que no va.

Pedí una reserva para un restaurante. Parece que la reserva se hacía a través de Book Ici. Nos piden el número de la tarjeta, se la damos, siempre pensando que era el restaurante y que solicitaban una reserva. Book Ici nos cobra de la cuenta 0,50€. El día de la comida, contactamos con el restaurante y nos dice que no sabe nada de Book Ici. Al cabo de dos meses, nos sacan 100€ de la cuenta, al empezar el verano, y no podemos recuperarlos.
JUZGUEN USTEDES MISMOS.....

Solicitas una reserva pensando que estas en contacto con el restaurante, te solicitan la tarjeta para hacerte un cargo de 1 centimo y no solamente no te hacen la reserva sino que sin consentimiento te hacen una suscripcion y te pasan a la tarjeta un cargo de 19,99€ por la suscripcion no autorizada

Es una estafa, nadie sabe el servicio que ofrece, simplemente es una app de reservas para restaurantes que te "pillan" la tarjeta con el 0.1 @famoso y luego es un cobro de de casi 20€ cada dos semanas sin que hagas nada ni solicites ningún servicio de nada. No se te ocurra reservar nada a través de esta gente.
