I have called API 3-4 times about…
I have called API 3-4 times about syncing my new door lock to the panel - they gave me a code to access the panel - it didn't work and then they said I needed a technician to come to the house - I asked to speak to a manager but of course I got the run around and still no call - today the technician showed up and API gave me the wrong code to get into the panel - hence why it didn't work - now I have called back to have this charge removed and of course I waited another 30-40 minutes to speak to someone - once I got speaking to a person they transferred me to technical support who told me they could not help me and that I would have to call back and speak to customer service - so once again I called and was told that nothing could be done until the charge showed up on my invoice - this is a real gong show - I had no issues with MTS Home at all and once API took over many glitches to the panel especially saying -30 with snow and yet it was plus 30 with sun - I am starting to wonder how secure my home really is - I also responded to their emails and all I got was a message that someone would respond within 24-72 hours and it has been over 2 weeks - by the way the technician was great and extremely helpful

If you needed another reason to avoid this company then this is it. If you haven't been convinced by the other bad reviews then here is another. I have never received such deplorable service from any company. Not just an Alarm Company, but ANY COMPANY! We had issues with the sensors and system not working properly at some of our business locations with API/Fluent alarms installed in them. We tried for months to get service calls done to repair the issues. I probably spent between 6-8 hours on the phone trying to book service calls. Always excuses and a shockingly poor knowledge of their own systems and procedures. During this time we had 2 separate locations get broken into and the Alarms failed to go off at both. Front door glass smashed by objects and thief walked right in. No glass break sensors or motion sensors triggered the alarms at all. Mentioned this on many repeat calls to API and Fluent and nobody seemed to care or do anything about it. I eventually had to get a completely separate system installed (Ring Alarms, works great and no contracts!) because I obviously couldn't trust their system anymore. Called and talked to so many people and some said there weren't any contracts on any of the accounts and some said there may be? After about 8 MONTHS of calls and emails I finally talked to someone that seemed to have a clue. He assured me that there would be no future payments due on any of the accounts and admitted that they made mistakes. I have an audio recording of him telling me that there will be no more payments and everything going back to November would be wiped out because of their errors. Couple weeks later I get an email from their accounts payable manager saying there is $1800 owing still because there was term on one of the contracts still. I go through the entire situation with him again and he could care less. Offered me a "goodwill gesture" of taking $800 off the final bill after I emailed him the evidence of his staff telling me lies. I decline his offer and he threatens to take me to collections. These are the type of people you are getting into business with if you agree to their contracts. There are so many better alternatives out there (see my previous comment!). Stay far far away!!

I’m not sure anyone works there. I would say if you have any other options, you should look into them. If your property is being vandalized, I would assume no one is ever coming at least based on their customer service I would. So far I’ve called multiple times and waited more than 45 minutes each time to speak to no one.
CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS
I changed internet provider in June 2025 so my api alarm system quit working. I never received a phone call to see what was going on, so obviously the system is no good, and after 3 months I tried to fix the issue myself but I could not get it working. I phoned in and no one would return my phone calls to assist. I tried to cancel the service by phoning in a number of times and still no one would return my calls. I tried by emails, no response. I took my banking info off and emailed and told them I refuse to pay going forward in December 2025. In May 2026 they stole money from my account so I emailed and phoned again. June 3, 2026 they finally had the audacity to return my phone call and then were only going to refund me for two months unless I could prove I tried to cancel previously. You can't prove phone calls and voice messages so Dec 2025 was the only email I could find and therefore I will only get 3 months worth back. Talk about getting getting screwed. DON'T USE THEM!!!

This is the worst alarm company experience I have ever had.
I was a Bell customer for over 7 years and was moved to API without my consent when Bell transferred their alarm services. Since then, the service has been extremely disappointing. Customer support is nearly impossible to reach, and getting a response takes far too long.
I requested to cancel my service because I was unhappy with the quality and support. Despite this, they continued to automatically withdraw payments from my bank account every month. When I finally received a response, I was told I would be charged cancellation fees and penalties for not completing the contract.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I never chose to switch to API in the first place. Bell transferred customers over, and now dissatisfied customers are being charged to leave a service they did not voluntarily sign up for.
After being a loyal Bell customer for 7 years, I expected much better treatment and customer service. Instead, I experienced poor communication, unauthorized continued billing, and cancellation fees for a service that failed to meet expectations.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
Impossible to get anyone at api
Impossible to get anyone at api. We have wasted hours and hours on glam NO response. Left messages to accounting department to cancel and have discontinued any automatic payments . They are a disgrace! Ended up going to Telus - excellent customer support and much less expensive than api. If anyone reads this then do yourself a favour and never have api for your alarm

Terrible service. I've been paying monthly for a camera system for my office that never worked . they coulde not fix it and they ask me to change my internet. i did , it didn't work again , now they ask mor money to come to repair . Would not recommend .If i could give this company zero stars.

ZERO star is what API Alarm deserves!! They doubled my service charges with no explanation etc. I have tried contacting to cancel but to no avail. Cam someone share what you do to reach them to cancel? I have also read some reviews stating they have not paid for many months. What will be the outcome?

The worst customer service ever!
I was a fluent customer, forced to switch to api, forced to do a $400 upgrade in 2025. My camera quit working, it was only 1 year 4 months old, warranty ran out at 1 year but in a 3 year contract. Oct 2025 is when it quit, they finally agreed to send a tech, told me it's $125/hour I said then no. They agreed to send a tech for free, he came out said my 1yr 4 month old camera had water damage. 3 months later they take $277.50 out of my account for the tech. Still no camera. The tech also broke the latch on my storm door. ($400) I've called at least 30 times over this broken camera and the $277.50 theft out of my account. They are stalling to continue monthly payments and not return my $277.50. I Absolutely do not recommend this company. Save yourself the stress!!!

Wish I could rate zero stars. I've been trying to get in contact with them about my billing for 7 months. 7 MONTHS of calling the support line, leaving voicemails, sending emails, opening tickets. I got ONE reply after 5 months that did not fix my issue and then radio silence.
DO NOT under any circumstances sign up for services with this company. I can't even cancel my services and I've stopped paying. Still no replies, insane.

Very frustrated with API alarms!! Over the past two days, we have spent about 3 hours trying to get our cameras connected after getting a modemupgrade from BELL. Most of the conversations with their AI and once were disconnected. The tech persons were not able to help us. On advise of the AI "person" we disconnected our cameras . Now the tech person is telling us we will have a tech visit at a cost of $125 !!! We are looking for an alternative service provider.
Worst alarm company
API alarm stopped working over three months and tried contacting them numerous times. Once finally got through on hold for hour plus call was dropped. Today finally spoke with someone. They said would provide credit for 3 months and send out technician, however said I just wanted to cancel alarm. Was told they would charge for the month of May as I could not find email requesting cancellation. I will be contacting the BBB and anyone else I can file legitimate complaint with. In my opinion do not use API Alarm. Ridiculous and aggravating to say the least.

How is this company able to exist?
I am a customer whose service was migrated over from Bell. Bell's monitoring and customer service was excellent. Since migrating to a.p.i. there have been multiple system malfunctions (sensors gong off line, system alerts, random beeping) so I sent an email on April 6th requesting service be terminated. No reply. This week we have called a.p.i daily seeking to stop the endless beeping and end our service. Each time the held call went to voicemail after 20 minutes and no voice messages have been replied to. The account continued to be billed.
