Alcatraz Island Guide Omdömen 

Here from Alabama and Georgia. It was nice to relax and see the sites without the traffic hassle. The narration kept cutting out but we got the majority of the talk.

The overall experience. The boat ride, the tour, the Ranger talk. Again, great overall experience. Thank you!

Smooth, well ran, nice staff overall great experience. Used this company in 2015 and now 2026 both times perfect.

There was nothing on the email receipt that said to get there early. We arrived, due to traffic at 0103 for our 0105 departure. We were directed to stand in line for ticket sales, then put in a standby line, where we watched people being let into to 0135 departure line up to 0134. Luckily we were able to get on the 0135 boat, but it was stressful, especially for the 3 kids who desperately wanted to go. 2 of the audio tours wouldn’t change to the next section easily - sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. So I spent a lot of time not being on the same page as my group because I would switch my device with whatever child’s device was messed up. Overall, it was a little disappointing.

Alcatraz was everything I thought it would be.

Every thing was perfectly preserved The audio tour was very educational. They had great views from the island of the Golden Gate Bridge.

It was so helpful to have a tram for my elderly parents. The gentleman that brought us down was so kind. Everyone was very helpful. However, my son just got a job and couldn’t come to CA with us so we could not get a refund for his ticket. That was the only issue we had.

Honestly was underwhelming. Very cool to see it, go through the tour, and hear the history of the jail itself. But having no access to the island and really nothing to explore after the tour was disappointing. Would have also liked some history and stories of the military operations on the island, the workers/wardens while it was a prison, etc.

We took the 7:05pm tour. By the time we got there they had already closed many sections of Alcatraz and there were no longer providing audio tours. What is the point of organizing a tour at that time that has such a limited experience? We felt taken advantage of.

We enjoyed the history and demonstrations. Also, the boat ride over was an additional fun experience. We felt the tour was very short. No cafeteria, no shower rooms. No theories on whether the escapees made it or not. Very little on Al Capone. We were also surprised by the state of disrepair. I would have liked to have seen the prison looking as it did when occupied. Toilets were crumbling. Walls were crumbling. Paint was missing everywhere.

Gorgeous place, very well organized, great for us seniors who have trouble navigating the terrain.

total confusion about the tour and lack of clarity about the group i was part of. no behind the scenes or anything. wish i had spent money on ferry only and not wasted on a tour company. ended up finding our way and seeing the island.

This was our first visit to Alcatraz & Angel Island. The ships were awesome and ever single staff member we interacted with were great. The real star of the show is these two historic islands. The tram tour on Angel Island was such a great way to experience the island for non-hikers. I would highly recommend doing the combo tour and spending your day with this company.

This was a great trip. I would recommend this for anyone traveling to San Fran.

This was a must do experience!! Not only was the history amazing to hear about and see in person but the views of SF and even the Golden Gate Bridge were better! Everything from the ferry ride there to the ferry ride back were fun and exciting. I would even it do it again to experience it with others. Another plus was an actual former prisoner was there and we got to talk to him and get a picture. Truly an unforgettable experience worth every penny.
