Beware of this car rental company - steal your 1,100 euro 'deposit'

Beware of this car rental company. If you refuse their very expensive additional insurance, they will make you pay in advance 1,100 EUR deposit. I hired the car over a week ago, returned with no damage, and am still waiting for them to send this 'deposit' back to me. The whole experience was slightly off, with the lady behind the counter behaving in an actively hostile manner once she realised i would not buy the insurance, trying to give us a car so filthy we couldn't even see out of the windscreen, charging around 50Euro for a 'full' charge e car, which we then realised was only at 90% after we had left etc. i think you would be better off sticking with one of the main companies at the airport to avoid the hassle of having to chase your deposit weeks after you hired your car.

Edit: 2 weeks on and still have not received my deposit refund.

Took $3000 from us when someone…

Took $3000 from us when someone reversed into our stationary car and won’t return the money. The accident happened mid Jan, it’s now end of Feb and Apex won’t give us any info at all about what is happening, what stage the claim on the other person’s insurance is at or how long it might take. We have the contact details of the other driver who says Apex called her in late Jan and she hasn’t heard anything since. Since it is unlikely that the damage repair will come to $3000, it feels like Apex are hoping we will just forget about it so that they can keep the $3000 as extra profit. Won’t book with them again, and won’t recommend them to friends / family either. Would advise using a more reputable / honest company.

Dining chairs abysmal quality

Bought a set of 6 dining chairs (Brockwell) from here at the start of Jan 2023. We are a family of 4 (2 young kids) so they have been very lightly used - and they have also been in storage for 6 months while we were moving overseas. Fast-forward to now and 3 of these chairs have since broken in exactly the same way (when someone leans back on the back rest, the design is such that the force snaps and splinters the seat itself). This is not just 'wear and tear' or misuse - if you rest your back on the backrest of this chair, it breaks. Cult have said they will refund for one of the chairs 'as a gesture of goodwill' - but 3 have broken and I need to buy a new set of 6 so I am pretty disappointed. We previously had chairs from Cult that lasted well over a decade (and even then I gave them away for a second life somewhere else!) so i think the quality of the products has definitely deteriorated.

Unfortunately, we were unable to offer a refund on your order as the items have become damaged 2 years after purchase and are therefore outside of the manufacturer warranty period.

As mentioned, we have agreed to refund the broken chair which you initially contacted us about as a gesture of goodwill.

would give 0 stars if i could. my parcel sent from NZ is being held up by CTT who have said it contains 3 t shirts (value $537) instead of 1 shirt (value $179) and will not let me change this. no way to get hold of anyone who can help, just a useless chat function online. never send any valuable post or present to portugal, you will never see it again!

Absolutely brilliant

We moved our dog from UK to NZ using Ladyhaye. I honestly cannot fault this company - they went above and beyond to help us ensure that the move would be stress free (including the fact that we had actually left the UK 2 months before the dog needed to travel). Bex is an absolute superstar - professional, efficient and responded quickly to every email I sent. Fab service and we will use them again when we return to the UK.

Long time customer but can’t wait to leave

I’ve been a customer with 3 for around 20 years and never had an issue until recently. I am travelling for an extended period and put a spend cap of £20 on my phone - despite this (and despite my international roaming not working at all after a few days) I have received a £60 bill, including being charged 2x on the same day for a data passport, and being charged for multiple text messages that were not sent because 3 cut off my roaming. When I try to talk to them about this with their online chat - which is now the only way to reach them from abroad - I get cut off each time after going through the time consuming process of verifying my account, describing my problem etc. This used to be a good phone provider but something has gone really wrong there in the last year or so and I cannot wait to cancel my account with them - they are like a scam company at this point.

From start to finish a very smooth process. Always on hand on the phone to answer any queries and absolutely no probs sending the bags at all. Just wish it had been cheaper to send my bike!

Damaged my bike bag and refused to…

Damaged my bike bag and refused to provide any compensation. Made me pay £100 each way for taking a bike and has ended up costing me around £500 to replace the bag. Really frustrating - will never fly with them again.

Table ordered - but never delivered

Ordered a dining table from Wayfair on Jan 10th - after several failed attempts via their app to pay by credit card and them cancelling my first order, finally managed to pay for it. Said it would be delivered Mon Jan 16th - thought that seemed fine. Next day I get a phone call from Wayfair telling me that the table is going to be delivered on the 12th, which cam e as a bit of a surprise because I hadn't had any delivery email and nothing on the My Orders page had updated. The 12th came and went - no table. Had an email from Wayfair on the 13th saying there had been a delay and they would 'action a resolution no later than the end of the day on Tuesday 17th January'. On Tues 17th Jan i received another email saying the table would be dispatched by Weds 18th. Today is Thurs 19th - I have had no info from Wayfair or their courier about table dispatch / delivery; the 'My Orders' page still says delivery will take place on the 12th (last week), and I'm speaking with a chat representative who is telling me it will be dipatched 'soon'. Massive time sink - will not buy from this company again.

Some faulty items but dealt with reasonably quickly

Edited as Cult Furniture rectified the issue. Ordered 8 dining chairs; 2 were damaged. After a bit of to and fro with Cult and sending / resending images of the damaged chairs, Cult arranged for the damaged chairs to be picked up and for 2 replacements to be sent. All's well that ends well!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they are a bunch of scammers who will try and charge you extra a couple of months after you send a parcel. Just google 'ebay packlink scam' to see how they have done this to thousands of others. Save yourself the hassle and avoid them.

2 x faulty desks - complete waste of time

I ordered a £500 desk from Made.com - I had half built it but when it came to putting the top of the desk on, I realised it had a massive dent in it. I subsequently realised that the drawers in the desk were also warped and had broken where they attach to the runners. Got onto the customer service, who sent a replacement which was also faulty in exactly the same place - the drawer runners rip the underside of the drawer off. Now they're saying they won't accept the returned items unless they are fully packaged back up - but I was planning to put the 1st desk in the packaging from the 2nd and so i got rid of the packaging from the 1st. I didn't think they would send me 2 faulty desks. I've bought from here before and the quality is always a bit hit and miss. This is the last time I'm buying from here - the products aren't reliable and the customer service is really bad.

No stuff arrived, customer servive is non-existent

Order was apparently dispatched, but never arrived. Trying to get in touch with anyone to help out is impossible - they do not email when you contact them via the website, the phone line is down due to 'lockdown'?! and the Twitter customer service person sent a one-line reply saying, 'The customer service team has already emailed you'. I would avoid this company.
