Purchased a bed and a wardrobe back in September. However after payment, they said the warehouse closed and I need to wait for months without a clear timeline
1) The wardrobe was delivered but parts are missing and still not received as of 12/12; the quality is poor, so agreed to receive £50 refund but still not received as of 12/31
2) The bed was never delivered, no
timeline was given
3) the customer service is not responsive and is helpless, no respond after chasing for weeks
4) contact number on the website does not work - no one pickup and refer to email contact

The website is still operating but it is very suspicious that the company is not operating. Avoid this business by means

Do not buy from them! Ordered wardrobe - 10 weeks delivery time. 10 weeks passed, then they told me it would be another 10 weeks! I cancelled the order but am still to receive a refund for my £444, despite multiple chases. Avoid at all costs!

Do NOT order from this company . I ordered a trundle bed in September . Had to chase as I had not heard from the company. They eventually provided a less than convincing reason for the delay . Additionally, the order did not appear on my on line account so I couldn’t track anything . I felt this was suspicious and when I queried it , the company said that it was a website problem which they would rectify . However they didn’t rectify it. I subsequently cancelled the order and received a confirmation of the cancellation quickly via email with a promise of a refund . Three months later and I am STILL waiting for a refund . I have referred the matter to my credit card fraud department .

Do not order from this company. I had a good experience in 2020 but they have since gone into administration. They are still taking orders with 6-8 week lead times. My order still hadn't been delivered after 2 months and they couldn't tell me when it would be, I needed a bed for my son so cancelled the order and requested a refund. 1 month later I still have not received my refund and have been fobbed off on email. No one answers the phone.

I bought a new headboard in December 23, so many excuses for delays, so took refund - still waiting. I've been promised it so many times, total scam. This used to be a great company as I have bought two excellent beds from them but not any more.

Echoing other reviews, these guys are scammers. We waited for our kids' cupboard for around 10 weeks (as expected), but then our furniture "is apparently stuck in the warehouse for quality control". We had to proactively chased them for an ETA, to which they said it would take another 3 weeks for the furniture to go through QA.
Another 3 weeks had passed, we emailed again and the company said that there had been issues with the furniture and offered to cancel our order.
We did as we highly suspected that something isn't right. We still haven't received any refund, and this is another 3 weeks.
Do not believe in other positive reviews as all of the 1 star reviewers seemed to have gone through what we've done.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Have now been waiting since March for a trundle bed and chest of drawers. Not one proactive piece of communication from the company to explain the delays - supplier issues and now warehouse issues apparently.

Second time we’ve used - first time a few years ago was great and quality of the furniture is great. But you order children’s furniture because you need it - a seven month delay is hopeless and we still have no dates…

Terrible company. Shocking customer service. Their furniture is great if it arrives. If it doesn't they don't answer e-mails or phone calls. I can only assume they are going into administration and therefore, if it is stock that they have already then you are lucky and you will receive it but if not then you will never receive the product. Will be escalating with the bank for a full refund.

This is genuinely the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Yes, their products are really good, but their customer service is pretty much non existent! So if you order and have no problems, then great! We ordered a bed and mattress in August 2024. The bed arrived really quickly (cannot fault that), but the mattress was going to take another 6-8 weeks. Because we had the bed and no way of storing for 6-8 weeks, we decided to cancel the mattress and purchase elsewhere with a quicker delivery time. No refund ever came. I sent numerous emails, they kept saying it is being processed or they are going to escalate with their accounts team and each time, nothing. I ended up having to go via the bank to get my money back. I wouldn't waste your time and money going with this company- they are obviously not fit to trade as a business.

Waited 4 months for my order, not received anything, no one is responding to emails and no one answers the phone.

Have been offered a refund from the company but this never arrived. After doing some research, The Children's Furniture Company is a brand name trading under TCFC Retail Ltd, Room To Grow is also another brand of the same company. With similarly shocking Trustpilot reviews. The sole director of TCFC Retail Ltd, Paul (Ian) Hanson, has multiple other directorships. One of these is RTG Retail Limited (Room to Grow). Publicly available information under the companies house filing history for company number 08009537 notes:
- Notification of Tcfc Retail Ltd as a person with significant control on 23 February 2023 (being the date of incorporation of TCFC Retail Ltd)
- Appointment of Mr Paul Ian Hanson as a director on 24 February 2023.
- Room To Grow then placed INTO LIQUIDATION on 29th July 2024 with significant debt.

Room to Grow sells EXACTLY the same products as Children's Furniture Company.

TCFC Retail Limited was only incorporated in February 2023, the assets of another company (CAPHAN TRADING LIMITED trading as The Children's Furniture Company 08140304) also owned by Paul Ian Hanson, also in liquidation, were sold to this new company in May 2023. This sale is being investigated.

In summary -
- Room To Grow (RTG Retail Ltd) is in active liquidation
- Caphan Trading Ltd t/a TCFC (old company) is in active liquidation
- Paul Ian Hanson is continuing to ruin lives through his new company TCFC Retail Limited, selling the same product range, that mysteriously never arrives across all companies.

If you have made a purchase, contact your bank for a dispute and Action Fraud to report them.

My story reflects that of many other 1 star reviews on here. I ordered a desk for my daughter in November 2023. I was informed there would be a 6 - 8 week wait which I agreed to. By April 2024 the desk had still not arrived so I chased it up and was told there would be a further delay of 6 - 8 weeks. I agreed to wait again but by July 2024 the desk had still not arrived. I asked to cancel the order and was told I would receive a refund within 30 days (no idea why it would take so long!). I chased this up in August 2024 and was told it hadn't been processed yet and to wait another week. A further month has passed and I have still not received the refund, despite numerous chasing emails and the company is now ignoring all communications from me. I am now taking this up with the Consumer Ombudsman.

I placed an order for a bed with trundle bed in Feb 23. Bed arrived (damaged) but the trundle was on back order. 18 months later I still haven’t received the trundle bed. Constantly fobbed off with “10 to 12 week delay”. I’m now cutting losses and requesting a refund but I’ve been emailing for 2 weeks and heard nothing. Shocking company, please avoid at all costs.

Placed an order 14 weeks ago, 8 weeks was the expected delivery time. Finally received an email response from them, although that took a week, saying there was a problem and I’d have to wait another 8-12 weeks if I wanted to place another order. Anyway, not sure if I have a new order or should be expecting some money back, no one ever gets back to you and it’s impossible to speak with anyone on the phone! Really starting to think I’m being scammed. All this time, I have a very disappointed child eagerly awaiting her first bed.

My wife ordered a bed from this company in October 2023 which did not get delivered. After several weeks of chasing she requested a refund which was never paid, despite the company continuing to claim it had done so. Her bank has subsequently confirmed that no payment had been attempted, so it seems that the company are not being truthful. They are now being unresponsive to further attempts to contact them.

We are now considering taking further action. Has anyone else experienced similar?

UPDATE: Despite the company replying to this post to say they will contact me, they have made no attempt to do so. Instead they continue to ignore my emails and their customer service phone line is not answered.

Happy goods received in good condition and good working order

Had my order cancelled by them on 17th June and despite several emails and attempts to call (they don't answer the phone) we are yet to see the refund of £917.98. Was told that they had processed the refund on 12th July but here we are on 29th July and still no refund!! Like an earlier reviewer said - all we get now is Radio Silence. This company to be avoided at all costs. Seriously considering cutting our losses and spending some money on a solicitor to see if this produces any better results.

I spent over £1000 for a bed, mattresses, delivery and assembly. I was told there was a delay in delivery, then I chased only to be told of another delay, then another and another…over a year went by, no sign of anything I’ve ordered. I cancelled my order and was told the money was being refunded, but there was a delay. There’s a pattern emerging here…numerous emails and letters have been met with radio silence. No money, no bed, it’s just a scam as far as I can tell.

Edit: I responded to the company’s response asking me to email them. I did so…and radio silence. It’s a scam. A money-grabbing scam. They have over £1000 of our money and are not giving it back, and we have received no product from them either.

A good kids bed. Easy to put up and looks very elegant in my girls room.
