I have been a loyal customer of Sixt at Antalya Airport for nearly 10 years, and I am also a Diamond member. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was one of the most disappointing I have ever had.
To be fair, the initial pickup process was acceptable. After landing, I waited around 10 minutes for the shuttle vehicle, which is reasonable and comparable to other rental companies. No issue there.
However, the problems started afterward.
As a Diamond customer, I have always received upgrades in the past. This time, I was told no upgrade was possible. What I observed was a parking area completely full of vehicles and this was not even peak season. Despite that, I was given a Hyundai i20, which is clearly a lower-category vehicle. This was the first time in 10 years that no upgrade was offered, especially at an airport location. While disappointing, I could still accept this.
The real issue and a recurring one is the return process and navigation.
The location of the Sixt Antalya Airport branch is extremely poorly managed digitally:
The branch does NOT appear correctly on Google Maps
The coordinates sent by the staff did NOT work on my international phone
The written address provided led me to completely unrelated backstreets and industrial areas
I was even directed toward Kepez, which is completely unreasonable for a tourist unfamiliar with the area
This is not a minor inconvenience this is a serious operational failure. Customers renting at an airport are, by definition, not locals. Expecting them to navigate incorrect addresses is unacceptable.
Then came the most frustrating part of the experience.
The evening before my departure, I contacted Sixt regarding access to the CIP lounge (Turkish Airlines). Please note: Sixt is responsible for transfers, and therefore should have basic awareness of airport operations.
I was told:
“We have no information.”
The next morning, I asked again:
“The NEw Cip lounge is not open. Use the regular entrance.”
This information was completely wrong.
I was traveling with approximately 60 kg of luggage and have a shoulder injury. Based on their incorrect information:
I entered through the normal entrance
I carried my luggage through security
I walked approximately 300 meters
Only to find out that:
The CIP lounge had already been open for a week.
This means:
I was given false information
I was physically inconvenienced for no reason
My entire airport experience was negatively impacted
Let me be very clear:
This is not just a mistake.
This is a lack of professionalism, lack of responsibility, and lack of respect for the customer.
The person responding to customer inquiries showed a complete lack of competence. Providing incorrect information in such situations is unacceptable, especially for a premium service provider like Sixt.
As a long-term Diamond customer, this level of service is simply shocking. What should have been a smooth and premium experience turned into unnecessary stress and frustration.
Summary:
Upgrade policy inconsistent and disappointing
Navigation to branch completely unreliable
Staff poorly informed about basic airport services
Customer experience severely affected
I sincerely hope Sixt reviews its operations at Antalya Airport -especially digital presence and staff training- because this experience was far below the standards expected from a global brand.

I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent experience at your Antalya office of Sixt Rent a Car.
I made a reservation approximately 2 months ago via your website. However, when I arrived yesterday to pick up the vehicle, I noticed that the same car was being offered online at a significantly lower price. Despite this, I was charged the higher original reservation price.
When I questioned this discrepancy, I was told by the office staff that:
• The current lower price could not be applied
• I would need to cancel my reservation
• I would have to wait 2–3 hours to rent again at the new price
This approach is completely unacceptable, especially considering I was traveling with my family and expected a smooth service.
Furthermore, the attitude of the office manager was extremely rude, unhelpful, and far from professional standards.
This situation reflects:
• Lack of pricing transparency
• Misleading commercial practices
• Poor customer service

My car rental with Sixt at Sabiha Gökçen Airport was cancelled by the company after I had already paid 218 euros. At the airport, a Sixt officer explicitly informed me that the refund would be processed within two weeks. Unfortunately, it has now been over two months, and I am still waiting for my money.
During this time, I have remained in continuous contact with the local office to follow up on the refund procedure. Despite my efforts, the situation has not progressed. To make matters worse, Sixt has failed to provide any official document or proof confirming that the refund has been processed or even initiated. This complete lack of transparency is unacceptable for a company that claims to operate at an international and professional level.
This has been, without exaggeration, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The handling of refunds appears deliberately slow and poorly managed, leaving customers powerless and frustrated. It is deeply disappointing to see a company retain a relatively small amount of money for months, seemingly using it for its own benefit instead of resolving the issue promptly and ethically.
I am now seriously considering travelling back to Turkey solely to file a police report in order to recover my money. It is a shame that a global brand would force customers to take such drastic measures over a matter that should have been resolved quickly and professionally.
I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before booking with Sixt, especially if there is any risk of cancellation or refund. Transparency, accountability, and respect for customers are clearly lacking in this ca

We changed the booking to my wife’s name and the agent at the airport said that the money of the previous booking will be refunded. No refund ever happened despite multiple email follow-ups and numerous customer service calls. No even one single reply apologising for the delays. A bunch of thieves! Avoid as much as possible!

We rented a car from Sixt at Izmir Airport and were extremely satisfied with everything. The staff were very kind and helpful. The car was spotless and in excellent condition.
I would especially like to thank the gentleman who was on duty at 5:30 AM on August 24th, when we returned the car. We needed to get to the INTERNATIONAL flights terminal, and he kindly offered to drive me and my daughter there himself. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name, but his kindness and customer-oriented attitude really made a difference. I want to thank him again sincerely.
I highly recommend Sixt for car rentals, both for the safety and cleanliness of the vehicles, and for their excellent customer service. I will definitely choose Sixt again for future trips.
The worst rental car company ever
The worst rental car company ever. I rented a car for 1 day, driving across states. In the middle of the highway the low engine light went on. This is just the beginning of my nightmare. Called Roadside service, they told me to get to the nearest gas station and buy oil to fill it, and SIXT will reimburse me. I did, and returned the car the next day. I requested reimbursement, but every department of them is giving me a hard time. Bottom line, I did not get my money. Still waiting!

Bis heute haben wir noch keine Erstattung erhalten. Auch haben wir mehrmals versucht telefonisch zu klären, wann wir nun endlich den Restbetrag ausgezahlt bekommen. Wir wurden immer wieder vertröstet. Für uns sieht das mittlerweile schon nach Betrug aus. Wann bekommen wir unser Geld zurück?????

My experience with Sixt Turkey was…
My experience with Sixt Turkey was quite disappointing. Initially, I reserved a Mercedes Vito, but I was given a Renault Trafic instead. After the accident, I was provided with a much smaller car, and when I returned the vehicle, I was told that there were no issues regarding insurance or damage. However, four months later, I received a 26,000 TL invoice.
The company consistently delayed the process and provided unclear explanations, putting customers in a difficult position. Instead of obtaining the accident report from the police, they kept asking me for it, which is a significant failure in customer service. Additionally, there was no clear or transparent communication regarding the expert report and billing process.
Despite multiple attempts to contact customer service, I received delayed and unsatisfactory responses. I believe that extreme caution is necessary when renting a car.
HOLDING MY MONEY!!!
I am so annoyed and frustrated by this company. I rented a car from them at Shannon Airport on October. When the hire car was parked in Kinsale car park another driver hit the rear of the vehicle causing a dent and scratches. The third party provided all of their details and driving licence and admitted full responsibility. Sixt debited my account by£1590.00. I am still chasing them to get my money back. They informed me that the money went back to my credit card on 17th December, and after nearly 20 emails I still have not received my money.
I needed this money for Christmas but am without it.
This has caused me much anxiety and a huge amount of stress.
I will be making a formal complaint and also going to the Ombudsman because this is appalling holding onto my money for 2 months.
I rent cars a all over the world when I travel and have never experienced anything like this before!

I booked them online, but when I arrived at Istanbul Airport, they said that I had an invalid driver's license. How come? I used that international driving license for years. I have been to many countries and have used them without any issues. They said, "Oh, it doesn't say the issued date, so it's invalid." I gave them different driving licenses from different countries (where we have lived for ten years), but still, they said it was not enough. What a bummer! Two staff members at the counter didn't speak English well but were also VERY RUDE (they rolled their eyes on me!). After 20+ hours of flight with two kids, it was a super exhausting and horrible experience.
They canceled the car and said they would refund the money into my account. Three weeks later? Nothing. No email. No money. No information. I sent them emails back and forth without getting any reply. I guess it was cheap and Sixt was a good international car rental branch, but I will never ever use Sixt again. Lesson learned (expensively).
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Non responsive. And then they do they tell you to look in website…. Why do they have representatives if they can offer information. Not even while having issues with car!!! Staff should be trained properly and professionally. Upon arrival I asked agent if I could return the car to a different location. The answer provided was “No problem” when I returned they charged me 150Euros… couldn’t they said? “No problem, but there going to be a 150euros fee”
I’m got informed that I can’t drop the car at the airport. That the agency is 30 minutes away?! Why so unresponsive and unprofessional?
Sixt Indianapolis International Airport…
Sixt Indianapolis International Airport representative is the worst ever, not only the lady is a racist and refused to give me a car even though she had all physical documents there, but also she lied to booking.com and informed them that the reason for cancelling my booking was because of shortage in the documentation. Pathetic company that will hire a racist just to capture $147 USD

Kiralama sırasında almış oldugum voucher da en ufak bir bilgi yok. Çalışandan en ufak bir öneri, yardım yok. Dünyanın her yerinde sixt üzerinden kiraladığım aracı kendi ülkemde kiralayamıyorum ve gecenin yarısı mağdur bırakılıyorum. Bir daha asla!
Stay away
Stay away! they will dishonestly overcharge your credit card. When I returned the car at the Istanbul airport and closed the contract, after it was thoroughly checked by their attendant, I received an email from Sixt "that there was friction on the left front bumper" and "for this reason, as a result of our investigations, the cost of damage has been determined as 250.00 TL. The relevant amount has been collected from the authorization of the credit card you shared during the rental."
First, there was zero damage anywhere on the car when I returned it, according to their own attendant who checked every area of the car before closing the contract. So, if there is any damage, it happened after I returned it. Second, the picture they provided could be from any car. They did not provide an actual picture of the actual car I rented. Sixt has many white Clio’s in their fleet. Third, they did not provide a copy of the contract to support their claim. So, this is simply a tactic to dishonestly generate more money, based on fraud. My credit card was charged that amount, which I contested with the bank, who reversed it immediately.
Fuel policy: Overfull is a thing, do not just fill it to full.
Vehicle was good and I returned it on the full line (gas), just like in the contract stated, but I was told by the attendant yes it is full, but it’s not over full. So he marked me down to be charged…her we go again, same Turkey, different day. Rules change like the wind. Took pictures but no one will care. Looks like overfull will be a requirement soon.
Avoid Sixt in Turkey
Avoid Sixt in Turkey. When I rented the car they gave a phone number to return the car at Antalya Airport. I called more than 10 times without any answer. I was obliged to park the car in the airport. They charged me more than 500 euros. Every 2 weeks, they withdraw 27 euros. If you want to save your money do not use Sixt in Turkey.
