chatgpt is much more helpful and accurate than the 3 world country, poor english speaking, human customer service they outsourced to answer calls. it is trash! it is unfortunate that we are unable to go completely off grid and just rely on our solar panels and batteries.

Incredibly difficult to talk to a human, their AI virtual assistant is useless, I tried 8 times to state my need and it never worked. I have to randomly try different options in their menu to talk to a person, finally after like 20 minutes of videogaming my way to her, she started to read from her screen endless statements without giving me the chance to explain the reason of my call. I finally asked her to send a technician to remove my meter locks to let Tesla to replace my backup switch, since they came over and it was locked ( Tesla and SCE are not in the best terms). After 5 days I haven't got back a phone call from a SCE rep to confirm the service.

I am at 59-year-old man

I am at 59-year-old man. I’m a sales director which I’m saying that so that you know I’m not an idiot. Southern California Edison is probably Customer Service wide the worst company I’ve ever done business with because you know what my issue is is that I want to pay a bill? I just can’t figure out what to pay or where to pay it cause I have multiple numbers I can get online but I can’t call anybody in person cause their system is so geared to talking to a computer. I don’t like to talk to computers. They don’t know what I’m saying a human being does if SC gets this message and by the way, I feel that every Customer Service focus that they have they suck suck and suck that’s the most professional language. I can think cause I’m getting ready to go to a therapist so I can get some medication because it’s been two hours. I have been on the phone trying to pay the bill again this month not really that hard. They’re in the business of taking my money and trust me. They take way too much I wouldn’t even know whether or not I qualify for something because I can’t get that far because I can’t pay the goddamn bill sorry I went to that place because I’ve been on the phone for two hours and I pay SEE first before all my other bills and it takes me three days to get over trying to call them. I want to speak to a person. It shouldn’t be that hard.

AI robot sucks.

The AI robot provides no options to reach a human. Suggesting the internet as a solution isnt helpful when your power is out. I would have preferred to leave no stars, but figured one was the lowest I could go

You cannot get through to anyone via customer service or a chat box. There is no an option to speak to a representative. My tenant in Hermosa is having and issue with power from pole to her house and they haven’t come to look and just send her a message saying the issue is resolved, when it is not!
This should be illegal.

Worst ever power company

Worst ever power company.
Expensive, they let u pay what they should after the fires. Also power outages literally monthly,. Long hours or days. No maintenance..

They doubled my home and business bill

They doubled my home and business bill, then they make sure their website cant render a bill, They talk about a 13% increase but that is not supported by the billing. They talk about investment, but they are just tapping their customers. The dividend should be cut to finance their investment.

So Cal Edison gets it right

I want to commend So Cal Edison for having the good sense to cancel a planned outage,#0008004344845 on 8/07/2025. the temperature of 105F was potentially dangerous to the Bixby Knolls residents affected. Keep up the good decisions.

Worst Utilities in LA-Ventura

As a property Manager I can confidently say this is the worst Utilities company in the LA/Ventura Area. They completely block any communication with customers, their phone lines will keep you in an endless loop of recordings, send you over to unexisting web services, and just completely block you from any human contact within the company. Been trying to start services for over a month now. Just horrible.

Power was off 7 times today

*** update Power was off 7 times today. Been here 14 years with their power anomilies...blowing up stuff but they only pay for cheap stuff. Mean while they help retail blowing up millions of dollars of stuff they don't cover. Low volt...high volts ... power completely off. Real bad company overcharging too

The worst phone service

The phone call customer service is the worst.
- No "other" option to connect you directly to the center.
- When I picked "upgrade panel" option, it directed me to other department.
- When I got directed to the other department, the lady was extremely rude and said she will forward me to the correct department, but instead, she just directed me to a bot.

Report them to California public utility commission

If you have issues, report them to the California public utility commission. That is the only way I’ve found to be able to get them to do anything. My bills were messed up for more than a year but they wouldn’t do any of the things they said they would do to address it until I reported them. Within 48 hours of reporting them, the issue was resolved.

very reasonable prices and simple to…

very reasonable prices and simple to use, I have received some credits that have helped with bills so I didn't need to pay as much. Only downside is that there have been some fairly regular power outages but they have been resolved quickly and during times when I have often been asleep and isolated to certain areas as best as possible

Costumer Service (Abel)

Spoke with a representative named Abel and had THE WORST experience. He has the worst costumer service, he wouldn’t let me finish any statements. I was trying to create an account for a property I purchased and he wanted me to pay the outstanding balance left behind by the last owners. I’m not responsible for paying someone else’s use of electricity and he would not understand that. Eventually he ended the call without even helping me get no where near to a resolution. Edison has to do a better job at screening their candidates before placing them in positions that will make the company look bad. I can give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe the call failed. But there was no call back which makes me believe that he did not want to assist me or provide any other resources to me. If he was unhappy with our conversation he could’ve easily transferred the call to someone else.

Wanted to discuss my bill that was supposed to be on a savings plan but apparently jumped out of plan and a higher rate. The hold time on a Friday early afternoon said it would be 31-60 minutes.
How ridiculous is that as apparently SCE doesn't have enough employees. Have never had this problem with SCG but always with SCE.

The complete lack of transparency gives…

The complete lack of transparency gives one the sense that SCE has no accountability other than to give the minimum response when power is off. PSPS shutoffs did not exist en mass until PSEG was sued some 6 or 7 years ago for starting the Camp fire in Northern CA. Prior to the Camp fire the PSPS shutoffs were primarily in very rural areas. But now, thanks to the lawsuits and gutless management, every time there is a gust of wind the SCE management seemingly wants to shut it all down...but they feel our pain. BS. How about they turn off their homes and businesses every time they decide to shut off a home or business? Perhaps that would give them a first hand sense of how annoying, inconvenient and, for the most part, unnecessary PSPS shutoffs are. The problem becomes a "cry wolf" syndrome where folks will not believe it when they claim there is an emergency when there really is an emergency. Dumb and dumber at a minimum. Also, it should be noted that the power lines were upgraded recently (like 1 or 2 years ago) to prevent wind driven damage. They shut off the power for that too. So why is the power off if the lines are reinforced against wind? Makes no sense, they do not explain it and, frankly, folks are desperate to find alternatives to SCE and any other utility that acts this arrogantly toward its customers.

Management should be fired

Management should be fired. 50 hrs no power. No wind, no fires, but if you live in a rural area, no power, while the cities have power. No updates. Website just that I live in a high risk area, so I'm not getting power. Their just covering their asses because their tired of lawsuits over down power lines. Just a bunch of idiots over there. Mean while I'm throwing out all my spoiled food and living in the dark.

Boston Had Whitey Bulger, LA Has SCE

Boston had Whitey Bulger. Los Angeles has So Cal Edison. SCE is nothing more than an out of control immoral enterprise that controls the CPUC and abuses the public through its monopoly. The shameless abuse of the public is unparalleled. These are truly bad people. SCE is not like a real utility. The provision of service is a distant second to profiteering and muscling political control through the purchase of local and state politicians. (Conversely, LA DWP has its own corruption issues as the former CEO is currently serving federal time for corruption. But, at least with DWP the power stays on.) If you are buying a home, seriously consider whether you want to live within SCE's area. You will not get through when you need assistance. The "green agenda" is a sham as they hate when you get solar panels and they will do everything to frustrate your use of solar panels. It took us well over a year to get an accounting of our bill after installing solar panels. Their rates are incomprehensible. They have zero accountability and no one in government will lift a finger.

SCE, they are evil and uncaring!

Wow, talk about PURE STUPIDITY!!!. So SCE does a PublicSafetyPowerOutage in an area due to high winds. The STUPIDITY is, this particular town had NO HIGH WIND and half the town is without power while the other half has power. Informing these morons of the FACTS one would think they would turn the power on for the rest of the city...no, not these imbeciles. Still without power because SCE is too arrogant to realize THEIR ERRORS!!!!

Major Electrical Issues

Started having electrical issues, (flashing lights, major voltage surges, tripped GFI's) about 2 months ago, and they kept getting worse. I noticed a tree limb laying across the incoming power lines of my neighbor, and my home. Called S.C.E. and explained the issues.
Service tech came by later that day, said "nothing wrong with the power, must be a short in your attic somewhere". He removed the tree branch, but that did not help.
Called my electrician, who checked all over the house, attic, electrical panel, etc. and found that the service cables from the power pole to the "Angel Head" had 4 splices that were all loose. He then called S.C.E. to have those cabels replaced, which they did the next day.
No help, lights still flashing, voltage surges, etc.
I then checked with my next door neighbor who told me he was having the same issues, even though they ALSO replaced the cables to his home.
ONE DAY LATER.....MAJOR issues with power surges, tripped G.F.I.'s, and flashing lights!
Noticed yet ANOTHER S.C.E. truck parked 2 doors down, and a tech was replacing that home's cables as well! I checked with that neighbor who told me he was having those same issues!
Called S.C.E. once again and put in yet another service ticket. About an hour later, received a message from them stating "power has been restored". No mention of what the cause was, or if it would happen again.....
What an experience, fortunately it was finally resolved
