We stayed at Bidefort and site and accommodation not fit for purpose. Our first caravan was so damp, beds damp, sofa damp. To be fair once we made staff aware they found another caravan that we moved in the following day.
The club house not too bad, but virtually no live entertainment and prices typically rip off Britain prices.
I was particularly disappointed that very difficult to give dogs a good walk.. Caravan areas not able to walk from one to another without walking along the main site road. Very dark at night time .
I couldn’t recommend this site.

Visited parkdean Torquay for the 5th time with my family for a week's holiday. Lauren and her entertainment team are brilliant going above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your holiday. Faced with various issues during our stay Lauren over came them like a true professional the show went on. Even coming up and apologising when there wasn't a lot of kids. They still did the whole programme and my kids enjoyed it. Everyone on the park from security,bar staff , entertainment and grounds staff are all friendly and make your stay worthwhile. Yes the parks small yes it's not everyone but for me it has everything we need as a family and is local to all surrounding attractions IE paighton torquey babbacombe etc. brilliant place and I'll definitely be back for a 6th time.

Unfortunately, Parkdean have let themselves down. The caravan itself was as we expected. The first night we ended up sleeping in separate rooms as the slab of foam on the double bed was long past it's best. There was an underlying smell which we identified as sewage in the bathroom. The reason for this was that the pipework wasn't sealed when the caravan was put in place. This was temporarily fixed by the maintenance man in the evening after someone had put an "ozone bomb" in the caravan while we were out for the day, to clear the smell. Obviously, putting in a chemical that takes all the oxygen from the air is only going to get rid of pests. We slept on the sofas for 3 of the 4 nights we were there as the beds were not up to any standard. We had to wash up most of the kitchen items before use as signs of food residue and we had to ask for a paring knife as the bread and carving knives were blunt and not ideal for preparing vegetables. The staff member who dealt with our issues was very nice but I felt that given the seriousness of sewage smells and also lack of adequate beds that it would have been prudent to offer us another caravan. I have been to Parkdean resorts over the years and this is the first time I have experienced anything like this.
Parkdean needs to get back to their previous high standards.

Easy to find what i wanted and where

Booking with parkdean is so easy...everything is tjere for you to see and know what you are doing...have booked many times with them and cant fault it...love that you can pay a deposit of £25 and set up a direct debit or pay when you want so much easier ...will be booking again have already booked for next year ..we have been going for years with parkdean..very reasonable priced holidays .

I don’t usually write reviews but following our recent experience I felt I wanted to share one so that other families, particularly those travelling with young children, are aware.

I booked this site as we were taking my three-year-old grandson away with us. I looked at the facilities advertised and thought it would be a great fit. He absolutely loves swimming, so the swimming pool was a key part of our decision to book.

We stayed from Sunday to Tuesday. As check-in isn’t until 2pm, I thought it would be nice to take him swimming before setting everything up. However, we discovered that the pool closes early on a Sunday. This wasn’t obvious from the main website. I was then advised that it doesn’t open at all on Mondays. That left Tuesday, but we had to be off our pitch by 10am and the first general swim wasn’t until 11:30am. Unfortunately, that meant he wasn’t able to use the pool at all during our stay, which left one very disappointed little boy.

Secondly, I was advised by reception that the soft play was open from 10am to 6pm. However, when I took him there on Monday at around 2pm, the door was locked. I asked at reception and they didn’t know why it was closed, suggesting that perhaps there had been an incident. Again, this meant another facility we had expected to use wasn’t available.

Lastly, I completely understand that there are rules around positioning touring caravans and awnings, and we thought we were following the instructions given. I had specifically been asked to park our van with the numbered pitch sign in the middle, which is what I did. Once we had completely put up our air awning, the warden came over and asked us to move approximately 300mm sideways. Anyone who has put up an air awning will appreciate that moving everything once it is fully erected isn’t particularly easy, so this was frustrating, especially as it could have been pointed out before we finished setting up.

Overall, I can’t fault the town and beach, which were fantastic, and we really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the campsite itself fell short of our expectations, particularly in relation to the facilities we had specifically chosen the site for.

I appreciate that facilities will have opening hours and occasionally things may need to close unexpectedly, but I do think the availability and opening times of key facilities should be made much clearer at the point of booking, particularly where families may be choosing the site based on those facilities.

It was an easy process to book with Parkdean Resorts.
However I was not happy about having to pay to have parking. This must be something new, I would find an alternative if this becomes an added extra going forward.

It’s says no fire pits but there was some campers on the site with them and sparklers
The toilet block was not clean breaken toilets and the smell was really bad
The chip van we got some fish & chips from there at £16.09 and the batter was raw
And I have tryed to get intouch and no one askers as I would like a refund
One good this was the beach

i spent 3 nights in a deluxe 2 bed lodge, the lodge was nice but lacked basic equipment. There were only 2 bath towels for 4 people and very little kitchen equipment. the Oven was also not working. i made a complaint to reception who very promptly provided additional towels a spatula and a dishwasher tab. The swimming pool closed everyday at 4.30 pm which i thought was very early and i also found pool staff to be rude when asking questions (female lifeguard with Bobbed brown hair)the soft play area also closed at 4.30 pm due to a skating session which made absolutely no sense.

We just felt right at home. Nothing was too far away, the children were able to safely explore. I would recommend this place over and over.

The booking process is very easy. All the information is there, and there is a good choice of accommodation to choose from.
The regular communication between booking and arriving is great. And at ocean edge and regent Bay, they ring you a week before as a courtesy call to see if you need any help or extra information before you get there, going that extra step in customer service

The site is tidy enough except we really didn’t like the bar restaurant. It was dismal, dark and didn’t ‘feel’ loved or we thought it too dark to be clean. We didn’t eat there because we thought it expensive.
The caravan was the top model I think. Ours was tired in the lounge - sofas worn, grubby and uncomfortable - plus the TV was damaged at the top of the screen. The large bedroom - was it double or a small king? Either way the mattress did not fit the ‘board’ you lie on. It overlapped. We thought that strange and the mattress did not lend itself to support. It was hard to find the room needed for 2 to sleep well - and so we didn’t unfortunately.
We were disappointed with the caravan considering it was your top model. We’ve had better more spacious vans.
The entertainment place seemed full of gaming machines everywhere you looked and the stage area dark and loud. A complete negative for us.
We didn’t use the pool but it looked nice.
Overall - we got what we paid for I suppose. It was very reasonable for 4 nights and that can’t be all bad.

Sandford-check in staff was really rude, calling me a liar, also when we booked in they booked us into a pitch someone was already on and was a had reverse with a caravan and again lady was rude on check in, cash point onsite debit our account but didn’t give any money- staff onsite no help at all- swimming pool absolute joke, we seen so many families being turn away and ours due to limited space as it was broken but staff were trying to hide that it was broken and lied to us about it. Bar coffee was milky and watery.

This is a Gold caravan, so we expected a higher standard. The shower was excellent – easily the best feature. Everything else was a different story, and this was only day one.
The worktops, cupboards, plates, forks and other cutlery were all greasy. Even the broom handle was greasy. There was a rusty, filthy tin opener (the mechanism was caked in rust and grime), the door handles were very loose (they came off easily), and the top of the extractor fan was thick with grease – clearly not cleaned in ages. The kettle needed descaling, the ironing board cover was stained and dirty, the bathroom radiator was rusty, the oven toaster rack was the wrong one and broken, the hairdryer was not safe and has not been replaced, and there were crumbs all over the dining-area seats. The floor needed a vacuum, the living-room carpet was poorly fitted, stained and dirty with visible debris and fraying, and the mattress had large yellow-brown stains on both sides (the underside looked like possible urine stains). The caravan still smelled of cigarette smoke from the previous occupants. The kitchen area in particular looked like it had seen fried breakfasts every day.
I seriously don’t think this place has had a proper clean. We spent from 16:10 until 19:24 just cleaning, and we’re still waiting for a vacuum to sort out the carpets.
On the positive side, the maintenance team came out quickly to fix the door handles, the stained mattress was changed quickly, and the smoke smell is being addressed tomorrow with a deodoriser machine.
These are just a few of the problems we found.
Fish & chips
If you like frozen chips then the site fish chip shop is fine. If not, head into Cowes instead for decent ones made with fresh-cut potatoes – they had that proper chip-shop quality. But LL THE ABOVE problems was sorted quickly but should not of been a problem in the first place.
