Lovely holiday been coming here 26 years now since was a child and my children and grandparents we love holywell bay site

The staff were fantastic, couldn't be more helpful if they tried. Clean Chalet, everything I needed was present and fully working. Really enjoyed my stay.

We were allocated a dirty flat with a lot of them with boarded up windows , questionable stains on sofas dirty oven and very dusty ,we had booked a gold caravan and wanted a caravan holiday but when we arrived a carbon dioxide alarm was going off so we were allocated the sub standard flat because we were told there were no empty caravans which I found hard to believe being September. I will never go back there

So easy and affordable

Booking resort accommodation and ferry crossings were extremely easy.

Easy check in, staff very helpfull, easy walking distance to Nairn, entertainment was very good. Large site for our motorhome. Facilities very clean and well looked after.
Could not ask for anything more would recommend this site.

Parkdean is a great option holiday for relaxing and doing your own thing. Has all the facilities you require to make it a great holiday.

The site is nice and facilities are nice, the staff were great.

We were touring and the touring facilities are terrible, the toilets and sinks and showers are all broken and dirty, no where to even hang a towel.

We stayed at Bideford Holiday Park.
We have a gold premium caravan initially, on checking in we found the double mattress was covered in blood stains on one side when we flipped it over there was a large urine stain, no mattress protectors on any of the beds !! We ended up sleeping on the sofa.
The decking was covered in green algae and cigarette ends everywhere.
The TV didn't work so we called the out of hours number, know one answered so we left a message, no reply, so we left more messages, non of which were replied to.

We asked reception to change the mattress and clean the decking at 9.00 a.m we waited until 3.00 and contacted them again to be told they could upgrade us to a higher standard of caravan, this unfortunately was surrounded by noises children running up and down the road with a view of a car park.
The sofa was broken, we reported it to reception.

WHERE IS THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS PARK, SOME ONE NEEDS TO TAKE CONTROL WE ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER TWICE, YOUR LOGO SAYS MAKE UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES THE TROUBLE IS THEY ARE THE SORT OF MEMORIES YOU WANT TO FORGET!!

We had pitch 7 in Eyemouth and we prayed that this park dean will always keep the motorhome spaces for good unlike Hunstanton and others.

We paid for a dog for any accommodation, but when we arrived it was full of dog hairs from the previous, if you pay the £50 for dog fee, it should’ve been cleaned to the highest standard of not knowing that there was a dog in there previously!! the floors were sticky. It was just not clean at all.!!

The staff on the reception desk were very friendly and professional in their handling of my complaint about the standard of the caravan. We could not move to another van as the site was full.
We were offered a partial refund which we accepted. The position of the site near the beach and harbour was good for quiet walks also considering the site was full it wasn’t noisy.

If 0 star was an option it would be 0!! We booked a 7 day holiday at parkdean in Cornwall, looe bay.
I had paid extra for decking and a view, on arrival the decking was filthy all overgrown weeds and nettles and bird poo all over the decking. When we went in the caravan there was long black hairs all over the bedding, in the kitchen the dishes had black hairs in them and was filthy, the bathroom was filthy and covered in black mold and radiators was rusty. We had made several complaints in which nothing was done apart from maintence coming to “clean” the decking, they came out twice and it still was cleaned and was filthy, the last resort was leaving our holiday not even 48 hours into our 7 day holiday, we had travelled 6 hours for this holiday and was completely disgusted! We contacted head office and was told there was nothing they could do! No reimbursement, no partial reimbursement. This was the last resort as we asked to move caravans several times!!

Pitches large, good deals on food in restaurant and good quality.

Unfortunately, the standard of accommodation was completely unacceptable and fell well below what we would reasonably expect, particularly given the price we paid. When we arrived, we found numerous issues with the lodge, including, but not limited to:

1. The freezer was broken. We therefore lost frozen food that we had brought with us.
2. The shower door was broken.
3. There was a lot of black mould in the shower area.
4. The lodge had clearly not been cleaned properly before our arrival.
5. The floors had not been properly hoovered/mopped.
6. There were a lot cobwebs throughout the lodge - more than you would reasonably expect.
7. The oven seal was broken.
8. The outside decking was loose/broken, which was also concerning from a safety perspective.
9. The ensuite toilet wouldn't flush properly.
10. There were broken window blinds, which meant the blinds couldn't be opened and meant the window couldn't be opened
11. Net curtains torn/ mouldy.
12. Stained bedding & mattress.

Taken together, these issues made the accommodation feel poorly maintained and inadequately prepared for guests. The presence of mould, cobwebs and dirt was particularly disappointing, as cleanliness should be a basic standard that guests can expect on arrival.

We paid almost £600 for a 4 night stay and therefore expected the lodge to be clean, safe, fully functional and maintained to an acceptable standard. Instead, we were left dealing with multiple faults and a level of cleanliness and maintenance that was simply not acceptable for the price paid. Parkdean charge £50 for the privilege of taking your pet, supposedly this is to pay for a deep clean - what an absolute load of nonsense! We left the lodge cleaner than when we checked in.
My parents were in the accessible van, which is not pet friendly, but was absolutely disgustingly dirty, the sofa was very heavily stained!

Whilst we understand we are not booking the ritz, we do however expect a basic level of cleanliness, which was non existent.

On raising these problems within 30 mins of checking in to our lodge, the best they offered was £50 food vouchers for their restaurant, which we didn't get to use. I have of course lodged a formal complaint via email already.

By thursday morning we had enough and decided to pack up and go home. We will never book with Park dean again and I suggest anyone considering booking a caravan holiday choose an alternative company!

The only reason i have given 2 stars is for the amazing lady who i dealt with at initial check-in and the 2 fantastic maintenance men, all 3 staff members were so helpful and a credit to Parkdean.

Edit 28/09/2026 - rather than request details of my booking, perhaps you may wish to read and respond to my formal complaint email i recently sent, which contains all of the above information and my booking reference details.

Never stayed at Parkdean Bideford and wouldn’t again we only booked a 2 night stay at their gold star caravan with sea views on arrival we were met by a lovely receptionist Jade who was very friendly and helpful she gave our keys and map we made our way and found our caravan let’s put it honestly it didn’t look gold and wasn’t like the website picture the first thing we were greeted by was a rat running around the steps when we entered the caravan it had been cleaned but smelt of dampness and the van furniture looked tired and there wasn’t a sea view just a small gap through the trees and a little bit of blue and the bedroom was not appealing there was no way were were going to stay there so we locked up and went back to the receptionist and explained if there was any up grades available as this was not for us Jade then explained that gold caravans wasn’t a better quality caravan but just a bigger one we missed this on the site we explained that we couldn’t stay there and would look to stay somewhere else for the night .Jade said give her 10 mins and she would look to see if there was something better we went to the entertainment and restaurant for a coffee which looked tired and smelled of well used beer entertainment room . Jade got back to us very quickly and said that she had a chalet that had been upgraded a few years ago I asked if we could view it before we would say yes so she gave us the keys . To be fair it was in a lovely location great sea views and much better than the caravan Jade did gave us a call to make sure everything was okay which is great customer service we only stayed the one night and decided to go home the Park it self needs some money spending on it and more staff to concentrate on on more detail cleaning but hey it’s a business that needs to make a profit but some focus and money it does have potential but it’s caravans appear to be hit and miss . But the staff especially Jade were very good .
