Southview Holiday Park, Skegness

Beautiful Site, loved all the water features. On arrival the receptionists were polite and friendly and the chicken and pizza vendors were in there too handing out samples of their food which was a brilliant idea.

It was nice waking up to ducks and bunnies around the caravan and there was a distinct lack of seagulls which was nice (I saw two). Caravan was clean and well presented. Site was mostly clean and tidy - the messy litter parts were down to untidy guests or bin area.

Facilities looked good. We took a dog with us and didn't have children so we mainly sat outside at the restaurant where we could get a Costa Coffee. Dogs are not allowed in main entertainment area which is standard at most sites I've been so we don't make full use of the evening entertainment. We did nip up for a game of bingo though - it was £20 each for all the bingo games that evening but the prizes were big (I think £4.5k was the highest on our games but it varies depending on how many are playing).

We went in June and had lovely weather. It was my first time in Skegness but we loved it so much we've booked to go back again this year (with the dog) but upgraded to the gold caravan with the decking option as we found the caravan hot to come back to during the day and really needed to be able to swing open some patio doors to cool it down quicker. Personally I think all caravans should come with patio doors and decking as standard.

We found Skegness to be very dog friendly. Lots of small dogs in dog prams (as was ours) which meant we were able to go in and out of shops without restrictions. Lots of food places were dog friendly - we never felt at a disadvantage at all. Dogs weren't allowed on the central part of the beach but that was a relatively small area compared to the vast stretches they were allowed on.

Great holiday, looking forward to going back to Southview.

Booked at 7pm, missed the blue light discount box, so called the following morning at 9.20am to be told that it couldn't be done. Surely a business of your size has the ability to add the discount afterwards or to refund the deposit so the booking could be cancelled and rebooked using the discount code. Really unhelpful on chat.

Usually we have a fantastic experience with Parkdean and I book multiple holidays per year.
Unfortunately this time has let us down and we wont be booking again. We booked in July for a December holiday. Paid our deposit and received our email confirmation that our payment would then be taken automatically.
On Monday I had no Internet so on Tuesday I had 2 emails. One to tell me my holiday was going to be cancelled and one to say it had been cancelled.

They didnt send an email to say there was a problem with the automatic payment and did not sent any warning text messages.
If id have known, I would have made the payment straight away.
I usually pay in full straight away, so have not had any issues with previous bookings.

It then took me over an hour to speak with an agent on the parkdean chat. (The phone line did not work as I was out of the country).
Tyler on the chat was very helpful and rebooked our holiday.. I was disappointed to see the price had increased. The increase was but £54 which to me is a substantial amount. A price Parkdean have been happy to loose my custom over. When I originally booked our holiday it included a summer savers discount which the team were unable to honour.
I have therefore now booked our holiday with another company at a cheaper price.

I did give parkdean another chance to rectify this via email but I am yet to receive a response.

Due to this experience, I would no longer reccomend booking with parkdean.

Had a lovely stay. The one problem we had was the tv signal was awful which with technology theses days just done expect that

Awful booking system. I paid for the booking in full through the website, only to receive an email afterwards saying that I now need to pay additional money.
As it’s the weekend, I’m unable to get hold of anyone to resolve the issue, yet I’m continuing to receive emails threatening that our booking will be cancelled if the additional payment isn’t made.
It’s extremely frustrating to have paid in full and then be put in this position through no fault of my own. There needs to be a much better system in place to deal with booking and payment issues, especially outside of normal working hours.

This company 'responded' to a Tripadvisor and Trustpilot review with a relatively prompt email and phone number and apparent concern.Alas in both instances the phone number was dead and the email bounced.Tried a SAR request which was duly ignored.Went through Resolver and same thing -automated response.Emails to CEO/Head Office/'Customer Service Manager' no valid response.All we did was book a caravan with parking.Then followed by 'parking fines' of car driving along a road, debt collectors, threats.Even paid £20 for the first charge to make it go away.It was eventually agreed we owed nothing but the £20 was kept as I 'had already paid the money'.
So breach of contract and no SAR.Data breaches. But the real concern for me was the apparent response on the review sites giving the impression of concern and responsiveness.The inefficency could be one of those things but those apparent responses of concern on review sites flags up some concern to me

It was easy to search what I wanted and what was available. Also, very easy to book.

Loved it will be coming again with our camper

Would like to be able to see a location map to be able to see tesort locations.
Over all the booking process was quite easy. Hopefully as I am a single person and usually use these places as a base. Apart from dinning. I usually visit fairly local attractions and places that I want to see. I look forward to enjoying my stay.

We spent a few nights at a lovely two bedroom lodge (162) which was at the highest point away from the park hub. Set in woodland, it was quiet and we enjoyed the outdoor decking furniture.
Staff were all lovely - thanks to Chris for helping us with our heating query and to the lady in the shop (worked there 7 years) and Kerry (serving fish and chips) both friendly and we were served with a smile.
There were lots of facilities for families. We enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings too. Not far from Weymouth beach and town centre. We will definitely be back.

2 of us had a 3 bed caravan for 7 days. Caravan was about 400m from the facilities building which would be a factor to those with walking difficulties. The accommodation was big enough, clean, sufficiently equipped and very peaceful. VG shower!
The weather got cold for a couple of days but the Caravan central heating was amazingly efficient. This was the end of a Scottish school holiday so the bar / social area was busy.
Staff were all helpful and friendly. Wi Fi in the Caravan was very poor, not a great deal better in the social building. To add to the data problem, my Sky data connection was non-existant.
Tummel Bridge is actually located 12 miles from the nearest town of any size which is the beautiful Pitlochry. The access road is long and winding; faint hearted drivers beware.
Plenty of free walking and paid attractions around but getting there involves driving on small roads.
The primary positive of this resort is the stunning beauty of the whole area.

Iv never used parkdene before this was the first time it didnt dissapoint sandy bay is a beautiful well kept park and all staff so very friendly our caravan was lovely and clean and 5 mins away from main centre the beach was so easy to get to just a small bank no steps weve loved our weekend and we cant wait to come back !!!

accommodation was very clean and smelled nice. my partner wea ill for the first 3 days so i went and wandered around on my own. The staff were brilliant everyone stopped and asked how he was and gave me a few mins to talk. even when they were finishing work. Also kudos they have vegetarian dishes on the menu which meant I could eat out on site.

Avoid booking gold premium and paying extra money!Southerness holiday park Dumfries. My mum and dad paid extra money for gold premium for extra comfort as it states on the booking and things,Supposed to have a large decking area with patio doors,Travel cot it was stated it would fit in the lounge area of this “gold premium” caravan which wasn’t the case either. They arrived on the Monday took one look at the caravan and they went straight down to reception to let them know that wasn’t what they booked. They kept on getting told this caravan was gold premium and there was nothing they could do about it but then got told to go back on the Tuesday morning and they could potentially find another caravan for them. When my mum went to reception on the Tuesday morning she got told the same oh it’s gold premium and we can’t do anything about it. in this caravan what was supposedly gold premium the sofa bed was in the kitchen when it was pulled out you had to walk sideways to get from A to B,There was food left under the sofa,The bigger decking that cost extra money didn’t even fit the table and chairs that they had on it,The kitchen area could only fit one or two people in it at the time but this “gold premium” was supposed to be extra comfort for 8 people. The dining table in the caravan could only fit 4 people around it and doing that it was tight fit. All that extra money paid for them to be comfortable to receive a standard caravan is unacceptable and they way the staff don’t care as well and just throw a email address at you to complain to then get ignored as well. It was for my mum and dads anniversary and my mums birthday so it is really disappointing that they haven’t had the comfort to relax and enjoy themselves. ParkDean Southerness Dumfries. Think use really need to up your game because it’s the caravans that are really letting use down. It is false advertising just to get extra money to make people think they are getting comfort instead of just going for a basic caravan. If people email use also use could at least get back to them and fix the issue so use stop getting bad reviews.I would love it if someone would get back to my email that I have sent on my mum and dads behalf because it is outrageous what use are claiming to be a gold premium and taking a lot of money out peoples pockets but not being intrested in giving them what they paid for. Avoid at all costs they are not intrested one bit and they just try and lie through there teeth to you.

There are no options dor disabled people were going Saturday asked if we could have somewhere where we dony have to drag bags in and down hills as there are may others to be told I have to pay extra sixyfive pound because im disabled

Booking online was easy and straightforward

I found that this company was helpful but at a cost, any amendments at an exorbitant cost + cancellation cost + giving you a placement then asking you to lock that placement in again at a cost. Very unpleasant and anxiety driven experience. In my opinion you should be told of your placement on the sire at the time of booking so that you can see it on the map and should remain. Any amendments should be £10 not £40 as it is only a keystroke or two . This is my opinion and with my past experience I will not be using park dean any time soon.

Why do you offer a discount immediately after booking. This would be more appropriate whilst booking.
