My brother lives at Alavana Place in Kendal. His mobility is compromised and general health not all that strong. Living there suits him well. I, with my wife on occasions, visit him fairly frequently; last week the two of us visited and stayed in the spacious and very comfortable guest suite.
Alavana Place is very well appointed, a pleasant environment and excellently managed. Barbara is the on-the-spot manager and is both welcoming and helpful - always a pleasure to see again.
She sets the tone of the place so warmly and positively; I know that my brother Harry would second that.
Five stars, no question.

Superb: Alavana place guest suite, Kendal, UK
We stayed for over 1 week in the guest suite at Alavana Place in Kendal, while visiting my parents. The suite has beautiful views over Kendal cricket club and to the hills beyond and is within easy walking distance of the centre of Kendal. The suite is very spacious with a very comfortable double bed and en-suite facilities. The suite was spotlessly clean and we were provided with ample towels, cookies and coffee and tea making facilities. The site manager was very professional and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.

Sydney Grange problems solved
We moved in to Sydney Grange in Failsworth Manchester nearly 12 months ago. Our House Manager Debra Knibbs has been fantastic, very professional, friendly and efficient. We needed the Sprinkler system changing leaving massive holes in the ceiling. However Howard our handyman did a fantastic job repairing it. With all jobs we have found Howard to be efficient, professional and friendly too. We are lucky here to have Debra who is very caring and a very capable handyman in Howard.

We stayed in the guest suite at Mallory Court for a week, and Liz the house manager could not have made our stay any better. Everything in the room was clean and comfortable. The best guest suite we have stayed in. Would highly recommend to other residents looking to stay in the area.

If MccarthyStone go ahead with the reform relating to new contracts, dictated by them, for gardeners, window cleaners and cleaners,
that will not be using the current team we have at Flora Grange. (We have a very good team) i feel there would be a riot if we lose the individuals the residents have become familiar with. They are trusted, friendly and helpful. We do not want some generic service that does not care about the people or the property.
MccarthyStone stop dictating to the Owners of the apartments. Please remember older people do not like change. We have a settled daily routine that contributes towards the happiness of the site.

2 stars When I purchase my apartment nearly 7…
When I purchase my apartment nearly 7 years ago now.I was given a brochure which said that we had beautifully landscape gardens, what a fallacy that was our main front garden had been a rubbish tip during the building and Was not even levelled out upon completion it simply had a small amount of top soil thrown on it and some grass seed.
We did complain at the time. And a man came down apparently from head office. I was not here on that day, but apparently he looked at it. And said there was nothing wrong with it. Obviously he should have gone to specsaver.
Since then, we have paid for various treatments, which have been an absolute waste of money.
And then to top it all during covid , I was told I could not sit in the garden , and I said it was a allowed ,to which they replied that it was their garden , and they would say who , and when could sit in it.
So if it's your garden, McCarthy and Stone How about making it good and fit to Look at. Obviously at your own expense

Come and see the beautiful New Forest
My husband and I live in Coppice Gate in the village of Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire. Coppice Gate has a comfortable guest room overlooking beautiful gardens, there are two lifts and on site visitor parking spaces. The New Forest is in walking distance, Southampton Water is a mile and a half away, Calshot beach 5 miles away and Lepe Beach and country park is 7 miles away. Why not come and stay with us? Better still, why not come and live in Coppice Gate? Each apartment is unique, there are most amenities in the village street, a purpose built doctor's and dentist's surgery right next door and regular buses into Hythe and Southampton. We look forward to seeing you!

My husband and I stayed in the guest…
My husband and I stayed in the guest suite at Braidburn Court Liberton Road Edinburgh. It was very clean and well presented and thanks to Emelda the manager for preparing it for our visit. We had travelled from London to visit my parents and I am awaiting a hip replacement so mobility is challenging. We stayed for 2 nights but wanted to stay for 3 but told the guest room was not available when in fact it was and we could have helped to get the room ready for new visitors. The room remained empty on the third night and we had to pay for an expensive hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. Surely a room can be cleaned straight away if you vacate by 10 and doesn’t need to stay empty for a night.

Ryland Place- feels.like Home
We have been at Ryland Place for nearly two years, things have improved 100%since our manager started Sonya, She is always thinking of the residents and putting them first.
I have tried several times to contact sales section of McCarthy and Stone after leaving several messages on the answer machine I have had no reply. This is no wat to treat people. We feel as if we are cast adrift in a rough sea.
