The Honest Midwife  Omdömen 

We came into this session/class with an open mind and both have a good sense of humour. Especially as I’ve seen the content on their tiktok page that looked promising. Unfortunately, we didn’t find this class informative within the time that we stayed logged on. The class was “fluffed” up with lots of unhelpful commentary from the midwife unfortunately. We were on for just over an hour and got about 5/10 minutes of actually practical and useful information. I appreciate the thinking that might have led to the approach used to deliver the class in a more informal manner, but at times it just came across as pretty crass, and the advice was contradictory or not very clear. For example, with their perineal oil - Louise made mention of a bunch of oils not to use, but wouldn’t actually tell us which ones we could use, and plugged their own brand one. Again it wasn’t clear what was in the branded one. There was also a point when advice was given to not count/time contractions, and so we logged off. All the advice we have been given so far by clinicians is to time the contractions. It made us really question whether the rest of the information that would be given in the rest of the class would be helpful and/or accurate, so we made the decision to log off. I saw many other people logging off at various points of the call. Was that because they felt the same way? Don’t know, but it was at points that I was definitely considering whether to stay on or not.

Super informative, delivered in a really accessible way plus a great amount of humour. Would highly recommend!

Louise is exactly the sort of ‘no nonsense’ most pregnant women need. Her light hearted, frank approach is reassuring and informative and not clouded with fluff. She quickly gets to the points which need covered and explains the whole process in layman’s terms frequently using relevant annd memorable analogies. I attended Louise’s class twice for my first baby and this is for number 2 for a refresher - in other words I have found it very useful and shows how good it is that I keep coming back. I have recommended to everyone I know who is having a baby. If in doubt, give it a go. Especially useful for birth partners as I have found others tend to leave them out.

Was really great, she is very educated and her teaching style is very approachable and relaxed. Her experience is really valuable and informative for expecting mums and partners.

Went a long to one of the free classes and then signed up for a bundle. Louise is so knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious - as someone who despises 'mummy culture' I thoroughly enjoyed these classes and so did my husband! We learned so much and feel as prepared as we can be but also quite relaxed. Thanks Louise!

P.S.: to those of you who are boring/have no sense of humour, best to go with an NHS class.

Part 1 Natural Labor and Birth Class

What an fabulous and informative class, both myself and my partner lover every minuets of it, and the fact that it was interactive and involved everyone in the class. Louise is a barrel of laughs (just up both mine and my partner humor street)
They also provided some great offers on the rest of the classes, to which we have booked onto!

Completed a free Birthing and Labour online class. Once the technical difficulties were resolved the class was extremely informative. I was grateful that the approach was more direct and, as the name suggests, honest. If you want the airy fairy approach this is not for you but if you want honest, truthful and real advice get youself signed up.
I have purchased a bundle after doing this free one. Prices for the bundles are the most reasonably I have seen and the approach of Louise made it a no brainer for me to purchase.

Insightful and entertaining at the same time. My partner and I booked onto the free class and were so impressed we bought a bundle straight afterwards. Strongly recommend.

The class was very insightful, well organised and engaging! Louise has great experience and answered all the questions I had.

Louise was so insightful, especially as a first time mum, I’ve now signed up to the second class with the hopes this gives me better ideas for birth plans!

I’ve done a couple of The Honest Midwife online classes now and Louise is great! Very informative and with some humour chucked in for good measure! Me and my husband did the baby and infant first aid course, which has made us feel a lot more at ease after having our little one. Definitely recommend ⭐️

Absolutely loved the free class from the Honest Midwife (natural labour and birth). Louise is super knowledgeable, honest (as per the name!) and gave us really practical tips which made us feel more prepared for birth.
Also love the way she brings the class to life with drawings and her talking rather than reading slides.

Unlike the other free classes I’ve taken on labour and birthing topic, this one was really informative and it never gave you the impression that they’re only giving you bits of information so that you book in for a fully paid class.

It was the most clear class about natural birth, I enjoyed everything: explanations, examples, great sense of humour. Thank you very much!

Louise covered so much in the space of 2 hours but made it engaging and interactive which is very different to other antenatal classes we've attended.

Both my partner and I are feeling more confident about labour. Really appreciated Louise's honesty too!
